Is this why random people are popping up in my life that I haven't heard from in a while?

I think that's probably mercury retrograde.

I have Uranus transiting my 3rd too and I guess I'd have to look at how things related to that area have gone to tell you what happens.....

Oh right: my closest sibling left for college and my other one lives about 700 miles away now.

I've been making use of it in the area of 'small trips' though...I've been making alot of them.

I do feel my ideas changing and becoming more shocking to the people around me. No scratch that, they haven't changed....its just the people around me-I'm currently stuck in a Suburban Southern Military Town...eh. I honestly want go back home, or live in a Metropolitan area again. I think Uranus here is making me aware of how mentally confined I actually am. Come to think of it, that might be alot of the reason while I feel like I'm going crazy.

Uranus in the 3rd is a very cool transit.

Uranus rules the supermind and 3rd being a mercury house, so you'll likely experience great insights out of the blue, and may often feel 'thunderstruck'. Your intuition will also get a big kick. I'm jealous

This could be true too, esp if they contacted you by email/letter/phone.

Transiting Uranus was in my 3rd house from kindergarten year until after the start of 7th grade

I was mainstream classroom in kindergarten.
I ended up in another school in a special education classroom with the mentally retarded in 1st grade.
I ended up in another school in a special education classroom with children with neurological/learning differences.
The year after, I was a regular student for most of the day and returned to special education classroom for phonics training.
I moved. I went to another school where I was a regular student.

so there were changes in my early education.

Wow Raymond, that's a lot of change.

The 3rd tends to represent early education, the 9th is higher, so I imagine that a child would be very sensitive to transits involving their 3rd house, and its ruler.

Yeah

my 3rd house is packed natally with chart 1st/10th house ruler Mercury in Scorpio, 2nd/9th house ruler Venus in Scorpio, 4th/7th house ruler Jupiter in Sagittarius, and Modern 7th house ruler Neptune in Sagittarius

my Sun is 3 degrees from 3rd house when using Placidus. Transiting Uranus was conjuncting the Sun when I started kindergarten.

another thing is that my Sun is conjunct the transneptunian dwarf planet candidate conjunction of Ixion-Quaoar. Therefore, Ixion and Quaoar were also in my 2nd house near my 3rd house. In whole sign house system, Sun-Ixion-Quaoar conjunction was in 3rd.
It also means that transiting Ixion,Quaoar were in my 3rd house during my elementary education years too. Not just transiting Uranus.

From what I remember, when Uranus moved into my third house (conjunct my sister's Sun), my parents made the decision to move us back over here, to the States.

We were supposed to be in California on vacation, to see if we liked it, and wanted to move there... instead, whilst we had some fun, it turned into a "meet everyone from the American side of our lives - family and family friends - that I hadn't see since I was a toddler (if at all)" trip. It was exhausting. My parents decided to get re-married the night before we went back to England (we had about two hours of sleep before having to leave for the airport, once we got back from Reno). Mum wasn't happy, but Dad wanted her to marry him again, before we left... five weeks later (thereabouts), we moved back over here.

There's an extreme example for you. ;D

*edit. We studied at home, instead of going back to a proper school, which allowed us to travel with visitors, when we had them. I remember doing homework in motel rooms, when we did (I miss those times).

teasel,

Where did you live before you moved back to the States?

I'd love to live overseas with my Jupiter in 3rd conjunct Imum Coeli in Sagittarius.

We lived in England, and I'd love to live somewhere else, if I get the chance (and it wouldn't disrupt anything major over here).

Where would you like to go?

England!

I was always crazy about it. I even begged to watch the royal wedding of Diana and Charles. I watched the whole thing too.
