We know that asteroids can stand for those with similar pronunciations. For example Innanen can stand for Innana. However, I have a question that has confused me for a long time. I'm eager to know if asteroid 175586 tsou can stand for a surname pronounced as "tsjo".The reason I'm confused is bc I can only find very few cases to test its validity.Do you have experience in applying asteroids with similar but not exact pronunciation? Using KK Phonetic Symbols to express the pronunciation, the surname in question is pronounced as [ tsjo ] , whist asteroid 175586 tsou , according to its spelling, is pronounced as [ tso ] .So the only difference is that the surname I'm asking has an additional consonant [ j ] However, I know asteroid 175586 tsou is from a Chinese surname. The English translation of it is tsou , but the exact pronunciation of it in Chinese is a little different from [ tso ] . I'm wondering if I can overlook its original pronunciation in Chinese and just look to the English spelling to pronounce it. IP: Logged |
