Anyone know what the tranits were? I'm thinking there must have been some connection to either aquarius in pluto or pluto and neptune, maybe some Libra influence in there too.

The 2 major astrological events of the 1960's were:

The Great Conjunction - Jupiter conjunct Saturn in the early 60's. A Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is always called "The Great Conjunction" and it suggests strong political, legal and religious tones. It occurs every 20 years.

The Uranus-Pluto conjunction in Virgo which became exact on October 9, 1966 on the 16th degree. This conjunction happens in a cycle of every 113 years to every 120(1) years. It carries an incredibly strong suggestion of revolution and rebellion. This conjunction was psychodelia, the sexual revolution, the 2nd great phase of rock&roll, great changes in education. Noel Tyl uses the phrase "too much freedom". Think of it in terms of children who have never been disciplined or given boundaries in any way, shape or form. They suffer for it in the future.

Those were the 2 biggies of the 60's.

I looked at one of the important events in the 1960's

Civil Rights Act

July 2, 1964
using noon chart
Washington DC

I checked Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus,Neptune,Pluto and the Pluto's fellow transneptunian dwarf planet, dwarf planet candidates

Ixion and Orcus are plutinos, and their orbits are only a few years difference from Pluto. So it has a similar generation span as Pluto.

Jupiter in 18'16 Taurus
sextile Mercury in 17'11 Cancer

Saturn in 4'47 Pisces R

Uranus in 6'59 Virgo

Neptune in 15'13 Scorpio R
trine Mercury in 17'11 Cancer

Pluto in 12'00 Virgo
square Mars in 10'44 Gemini

Pluto's fellow transneptunian dwarf planets, dwarf planet candidates

dwarf planet Eris in 11'19 Aries
square Sun in 10'46 Cancer

dwarf planet Haumea in 2'51 Virgo
oppose Saturn in 4'47 Pisces R
sextile/trine Stationary Lunar Nodes in 2'01 Cancer/Capricorn

dwarf planet Makemake in 6'28 Leo

dwarf planet candidate Sedna in 29'33 Aries

dwarf planet candidate Ixion in 27'17 Libra R

dwarf planet candidate Orcus in 12'46 Cancer
conjunct Sun in 10'46 Cancer
trine Neptune in 15'13 Scorpio R
sextile Pluto in 12'00 Virgo

dwarf planet candidate Quaoar in 22'13 Libra R
trine Venus in 21'54 Gemini R

dwarf planet candidate Varuna in 23'20 Taurus

I'm one of those children, too. I was born in 1967.

People born between 1965 and some point in 1968 can consider themselves children of the Uranus-Pluto conjunction. Where ever conjunction lands in your chart is where you might have too much freedom or rebellion in your life. What houses in your chart do Uranus and Pluto rule? It's very interesting to see how those issues in your life are expressed with that conjunction.

I remember hearing that about the French, didn't know it was the same for the American.

Well, the American Revolution technically started in 1776 with Pluto in Cap, but the majority of it was Pluto in Aqua.

Revolutionary War seemed to start on April 19 1775

Join, or Die by Benjamin Franklin was recycled to encourage the former colonies to unite against British rule.

The Battle of Lexington and Concord took place April 19, 1775, when the British sent a force of roughly 1000 troops to confiscate arms and arrest revolutionaries in Concord.[55] They clashed with the local militia, marking the first fighting of the American Revolutionary War. The news aroused the 13 colonies to call out their militias and send troops to besiege Boston. The Battle of Bunker Hill followed on June 17, 1775. While a British victory, it was at a great cost; about 1,000 British casualties from a garrison of about 6,000, as compared to 500 American casualties from a much larger force.[56][57] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolution

I checked the social planets, transpersonal planets, and the evolutionary intensified objects

social planets:
Jupiter in 21'43 Taurus
Saturn in 3'42 Libra R

Transpersonal planets
Uranus in 0'43 Gemini
Neptune in 20'23 Virgo R

Evolutionary intensified objects:
dwarf planet Pluto in 26'41 Capricorn
dwarf planet Eris in 8'16 Capricorn
dwarf planet Haumea in 6'07 Taurus R
dwarf planet Makemake in 28'06 Scorpio R
dwarf planet candidate Sedna in 15'10 Pisces
dwarf planet candidate Ixion in 0'48 Capricorn
dwarf planet candidate Orcus in 7'58 Virgo R
dwarf planet candidate Quaoar in 24'40 Aquarius
dwarf planet candidate Varuna in 11'59 Virgo R

I think that it would be a good idea to monitor Pluto,Orcus, and Ixion together.
They have 3:2 orbital resonance with Neptune. That means they orbit the Earth twice as Neptune orbits 3 times. Their orbital periods are very close together.

Orbital periods:
Pluto - 248.09 years
Orcus - 245.33 years
Ixion - 249.95 years
