I'm wondering if Eros has more qualities associated to it than just sex & eroticism. Can it signify passion? (enthusiasm as opposed to lust) Progressed Eros is almost conjunct my ascendant. Do progressed asteroids have an impact on the native's life? What could Progressed Eros conjunct ascendant signify if you take - sex, romance & eroticism out of the equation? IP: Logged |

I think the energy can be put to creative use, such as passionate work in the Arts. IP: Logged |

Probably since its suppose to be like a 'Venusian Mars'. Passion and creativity might be mixed together. IP: Logged |

Kim Falconer has written a lot about Eros, I'd check out her site. She talks about Eros is ultimately about unification for creation from what I remember, which is why it lends itself to sexuality but its energy can certainly go elsewhere. I have it conjunct my sun and I can attest to that!IP: Logged |

Eros is only erotic in my opinion. Someone lucky enough to have a natal planet aspecting your progression would embody this for you.IP: Logged |

Eros is erotic in the original sense of the word. The God Eros was - before all- the god of "creation". so the passion of Eros does not always have to be focused on another person (even though in synastry it most often is), but it can be passion for an entrprise for example, too. Also the purpose of Eros is transformation, a very creative process. It is not the "happily ever after" kin d of love (which it can be depending on other aspects), but it`s not Eros purpose and intent to bind two people together in the form of a conventional marriage. It wants them to create something new that will transform them both. As I said he was the God of creation, long before he became the God of Valentine-cards. Actually he preceded the known Gods and Goddesses of the Greeks; He was "integrated" and "made tame" to fit their divine circle. But he existed before as the one God all creation had to answer to. the other Godd(ess) I know of, who had existed before and was "modified" was the Goddess Hestia/Vesta.IP: Logged |

My first thought was creative energy, as well. IP: Logged |

I also link it to being "filled with the Spirit" because it is a very rejuvenating feeling to express your true passions.IP: Logged |

Thanks for your replies. "Filled with the spirit" & "creative expression/energy" sound marvellous! Just what I need I look forward to the progression becoming exact! Thanks again IP: Logged |
