This is so bizarre, but the first thing that popped into my mind when I read it was "I wonder what their synastry chart looks like!" I know it's not really astrology related so feel free to move or delete it...but I just had to share.

I believe it. The term is 'Genetic Sexual Attraction' and these 2 have very strong factors for it
-the daughter being adopted out
-his mother dying while he was prob quite young
-being reunited with a genetically similar biological female family member
And it all kicks in his longing for his mother and also the newness of a close familial connection. And more contact with a family that was denied to him while young. Throw in similar habits and looks, which if youre biologically related is quite common, and it can be akin to meeting what one would think is a 'soul mate' - instant emotional triggers + instant physical/personality similarity. This is not too uncommon honestly.

Taboo is pluto so thats prob strong for both of 'em, I'm venturing.

That was very insightful Lonake. Thank you for sharing. I like to be able to see both sides of the story and that helped a lot!

Hollyyyyyy Coconut whipped cream with strawberries and chocolate fudge!!!!!!!!!!!

I need the mental imagery ^^ to take my mind of this..

Chuck my guy in there naked..
And my ex while I'm at it..

Yes -- Together!

Nice..

phewww
Ok - Now I'll pretend I never saw this.

But to keep it astrological -- I bet the guy has just about everything in Cancer opposite Saturn in Capricorn and a Mars square Uranus to top it off. And she is probably high on something - morphine most likely. I blame pharmaceutical companies

I haven't read the article, but I will.

Kinda reminds me of the incestuous relationship Mackenzie Phillips had with her dad, John Phillips of the Mama's & the Papa's.

I was reading an article about their synastry and it was quite an interesting read, from an astrological point of view. If I can find it, I'll put it up

Somebody linked to this on Facebook. I thought it might be a site of The Onion sort...

*edit. This reminded me of a popular set of books I used to read, that started with Flowers in the Attic. It was a different situation, but involves a taboo relationship between two family members (amongst other disturbing things in the books):

"Andrews' novels combine Gothic horror and family saga, revolving around family secrets and forbidden love (frequently involving themes of consensual incest, most often between siblings), and they often include a rags-to-riches story. Her best-known novel is the infamous bestseller Flowers in the Attic (1979), a tale of four children locked in the attic of a wealthy Virginia family by their estranged religious grandmother for over three years." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V._C._Andrews

I might take a look at her chart later on. (One thing that jumps out is Mars conjunct Pluto in Cancer.)
I also wonder about Frank Warren's chart (the man who created the Post Secret blog.)

I'd forgotten just how graphic and over the top the first one was. That alien face is really fitting.

I think, from the second book onwards, the elder brother and sister lived as a couple (hoping nobody would ever discover their secret).

I read a lot of that series long ago and I do remember that. It just seemed like that review was saying MORE of her books and series dealt with that theme, so I was thinking she must have dealt with that theme in her own life and/or was karmically impelled to explore it and share it with others.

I wondered why she focused on such awful things, as well. I stopped reading the other books, because I noticed they were all heading in a similar direction.

I remembered reading that someone had taken over writing her books, so maybe that was the reason the theme continued (they couldn't think of anything else to write about, and the books were so popular they thought they'd get away with it).

I'd add her chart to my photobucket account, but I'm on Google Chrome, at the moment, and it won't let me add more than one asteroid. She has Ceres in Aquarius, inconjunct Pluto (by 4 degrees), and with a noon chart, her Sun and that Mars-Pluto conjunction are in the tenth house. That also gives her a Moon/Uranus/South Node conjunction in Pisces.

I have to go, but now I want to read more about her. (Sorry for getting away from the main topic.)

Maybe there's a Venus conj/square Uranus in there. Since it's so kookoo bananas I feel like a Uranus aspect might be strong there, and could explain the weird pull they had towards one another.

Gross.

I'm a kind of live and let live person and since I'm not exactly an glowing success story in the romantic attraction department myself, who am I to judge? If they're happy, then whatever. The baby thing is a little harder for me to be OK with. I mean, why is a 72 year old woman thinking about having a baby? After spending that kind of money out of her retirement? What will happen to the baby if something happens to her, like an extended illnesses? God, I hope they both have good insurance.

Lonake--I think genetic attraction is quite real. I think it's why I have a VERY strong attraction to men of certain ethnic backgrounds similar or related to my own that has little bearing on our cultural compatibility. It's just biological. These kinds of men are attractive to me in a different way that just being "hot" or "pretty." They strike me as a good match for me biologically. It's weird. I don't know how better to explain it. But it's not exactly a great way to pick up a guy, is it? "Hey, I was across the room just now, checking out your ethnic facial and other physical markers and I think you and I could produce very genetically healthy babies. Wanna hook up?"

On the flipside, the only time I have been pregnant was with a man that I didn't feel this genetic attraction with, and I felt something was wrong with the pregnancy the night I conceived. I just knew. I miscarried at the 4th week. I always felt in my gut that was because he and I weren't a good genetic match.

I think that's the norm though.

My mom is the total opposite, and and I was result of that. I am similar to my mom in that way too.

Cherle- I'm the opposite as far as attraction goes. I'm a Eurasian mix so my coloring's a little bit darker, and light-skinned men are very, very attractive to me. Blonde-haired, blue-eyed would be my type.
