Topic: Venus conjunct mars in progressed synastry?

Two years ago I met a guy who I felt instant and strong attraction to and he to me. My progressed mars was at 8 libra and his progressed venus was at 8 libra also...we are still in contact but he is in a relationship and so it is very frustrating for me  We have no mars venus contacts natally synstry wise....this progressed conjunction is apart by 2 degrees now and getting bigger...will the attraction fade as this aspect goes out of orb??IP: Logged |

Short answer: Yes.By progressed Synastry rules, the attraction began to wane the instant it became exact; Venus @ 8 Libra conjunct Mars @ 8 Libra. Don't get me wrong, there will be intense attraction. Any relationship started at an exact progressed aspect is expected to be short term...unless it's superseded by another aspect. IP: Logged |

Not necessarily tight. Within orb, or applying.An exact conjunction is like the peak of a mountain. Once you reach the peak there is only one way to go... This is why the best aspects to have are applying aspects, or if we're still using the mountain analogy, the climb up the mountain. IP: Logged |

Im doing my best to keep the progressed attraction alive lol, his progressed mars is exactly on my natal uranus now..that must be a help at least? ooooo, his progressed pluto is sitting EXACTLY on my sun to the minute....his saturn is two degrees away premature from sitting on my sun, his mercury is two degrees premature of my venus...anything there that may help to keep the spark alive?IP: Logged |

To be truthfully honest, sometimes, sometimes, I have no idea. Basically I think there's two kinds of attractions, the first kind wonders, "Hmmm, who is that?" With these kinds of attractions I find that the orbs are wider. I'll say 4, 5, & 6 degrees applying. With the second kind of attractions you find yourself hand-in-hand, chest-to-chest, face-to-face with the other person. For these attractions I've observed the aspects are no wider than 3 degrees applying. In conclusion, the closer the aspect the more intense the attraction on both sides. The wider the orb, the higher the chances of mixed messages, unrequited love, and the another swooping down and "stealing" your sweetie away. IP: Logged |

Nine, Im worried when you say submit or fight lol.....My progressed moon is at 6 sag so it is 2 degrees away from squaring his natal venus. I think I am in love with him yes...... Our natal synastry is nicer, he has venus in virgo and I have mars in virgo, no conjunction though...orb is 17 degrees out. His sun in virgo is trine my moon in cap. My mars is conjunct his sun. His venus is 8 virgo..my ascendant is 8 virgo....his venus is widely trine my moon (9 degree orb). My venus mars conjunction is tine his chiron, my saturn is on his mars in scorpio. No stress. It just seemed as though all his more serious planets were in aspect to your planets of ego expression. I'm sure it would be fine. The natal aspects are fabulous. I'm particularly excited about the Sun/Mars. To me, this aspect is a combination of passion & idealism rolled into one. A possible downside to this aspect is that Mars often doesn't see the Sun clearly. And may project too much unto the Sun. Again, the natal aspects are great, you just need a progression to kick things into gear. Ascendant/Venus aspects a nice, but not sure if they're strong enough to bring about a relationship. Any Sun/Moon or Sun/Venus aspects coming up?? IP: Logged |

Just from experience with the Prog ASC to natal Venus in synastry... it seems like there needs to be a little bit more. That aspect seems to be kind of lazy. I have had it happen 2 times with guys I thought I was going to be in a relationship with and we were only involved for a couple months and we went back to friends (all ended on good terms)... it just wasn't enough to "kick" things off. I feel the same about Venus/Venus or Venus/DSC in progression... they are nice and cozy if there some other stuff going on but it's just not enough fiction (don't know if that is the right word to use here) to get the people into a relationship. My on and off relationship in 2 year which ended in the summer 2009. He and me still have strong PR between each other. My PR sun opp his PR venus. His PR sun PR mars square my PR venus and my Natal sun conj AC.In our Natal synastry we also have DW Sun /venus, square and opp. I've in no other relationship have so much tension and fiction. Now he in a new relationship and I do not want to spoil this relationship but I must say I'm afraid when he and a friend to him be going to renovate my new flat... My SA amor/wertex also conj his N venus and his PR moon conj my N pluto in this time.
My PR moon also conj his N venus in the time he work on my flat. I wish we both make be off feelings and could be good friends but the PR chart scare me... IP: Logged |

I like this differentiation between the wider orbs, and how it gets really intense, once the orbs close in. Makes sense.So you think, I might *somewhat* feel these aspects? His pr Sun opposing my Mars (2 applying)
his pr Sun conjunct my DESC (3,5 applying)
his pr Mercury also will trine my pr Venus and Mercury (half a degree applying - with Mercury being both our DESC-rulers)
his pr Venus opposin my Venus (3,5 applying) Actually on that interesting date his pr Moon will be conjunct my natal Moon by the minute! Both being on 17°07 Aquarius, I found that curious." (and no he is no "love prospect" - I just found these oppositions interesting - even though of course I read the opposition is a "separation" aspect)

Nine, I had a look and the only thing I can find is my progressed venus coming into a semi square with his natal sun? Should I be looking at solar arc aswell? I heard that progressions hold more weight as a stand alone chart than solar arc.IP: Logged |

Angel,maybe if the progressions are not strong, it just means that nothing will happen between the two of you, at least not at this time?

DD, Maybe your right, maybe im searching too much for something that's not meant to happen. Is it common that natal syastry take precedence over progressed synastry? Or do there always have to be progressed aspects to start a relationship off? Can transits cause anything to happen? Sorry, I know im asking a lot of questions here lolIP: Logged |

Confession: I haven't done much work with Solar Arcs. Though I've heard it's wildly accurate. That said, I believe a Solar Arc chart may be able to forecast an impending relationship, just not sure it it can predict with whom. But it won't hurt to look into it.

Definitely, you will feel these aspects. After all, your interest was piqued enough to find out the dynamics of the attraction. The Sun/Mars aspect alone speaks of heat/attraction. Everything else will add flavor. Interesting you have Venus/Venus opposition, yet you're going to hear him sing (read: express Venus) Hmmm....My read of this aspect is a difference in aesthetic/artistic tastes. quote:

Indeed. Don't meet lots and lots of 'em, but the pMoon in Sagittarius (my nMoon) that I do meet, I get along with really well. quote:
