23:08 Taurus Moon And Taurus Sun

The New Moon for May is one of the most fertile of the Northern Hemisphere’s growing season and marks the true beginning of Fall for the Southern Hemisphere folks. The Moon is moving very fast in the heavens, whipping from one degree to the next, moving us along rapidly towards our future. It is one of the more important moons of 2010.

The New Moon is on the Degree of the Great Conjunction in late May- early June 2000. Saturn and Jupiter joined at 22:43 Taurus on May 28, 2000. Back then, you started a New Great Cycle that is coming to fruition, ripening into a fullness and starting to bear fruit over the next few months as Jupiter opposes Saturn. The Great Cycle will continue to bear fruit and create over the next 10 years. Back in 2000, you made the decision to end (or perhaps the decision was made for you) a cycle that you’d been living and working in since the previous Great Conjunction in 1980. All Great Cycles structure your life in a phased relationship, described by your chart, to your actual soul, intellectual, physical and emotional work in the world and during this carnation. Your life connections from 1980 shifted and changed over the summer of 2000 into a new or modified form as your life shifted to start on a new path described by your chart.

Over the next months, Jupiter will oppose Saturn three times. The oppositions ask us to look back on the past 10 years and what we have accomplished. They ask us to look forward to the next 10 years and continue with or to take the time NOW to change our dream. The Jupiter / Saturn oppositions take place on May 23, 2010 at 27°: 52 Pisces / Virgo; on August 16, 2010 at 02°: 26 Aries / Libra and on March 28, 2011 at 14°: 21 Aries / Libra. The oppositions will ask each of us to harkens back to the earlier time in our life and review what we’ve created over the past 10 years.

The New Moon is a time to sit down over the next 10 days and review the events of the past 10 years. Look to see how you created the life you said you wanted to create back in 2000. As Jupiter and Saturn dance with each other over the next few months, your job is to adjust your understanding of the cycle that started back in 2000 to meet your now more conscious understanding of what it was all about. You have a new beginning with the New Moon even as you are reaching a full point in the Jupiter Saturn cycle. You get to START a renewal and expansion process NOW, as the New Moon awakens that earlier time and dream. The seeds planted in 2000 will blossom and bring forth fruit. Your job is to figure out how to go forward with your dreams, and hopes. Create the life events that support your dreams.

Dane Rudhyar said about the Jupiter Saturn opposition phase or the “full moon” 180 opposition phase: “Objectivity and clear consciousness as result of the personal and social-cultural experience is possible. The original purpose and impulse of the Jupiter / Saturn conjunction has now become a formed concept with a more or less clear image. What was felt in the past is now seen. This may be a revelation or illumination and normally is some kind of fulfillment. But it can also mean, negatively, separation or divorce ~ perhaps even a divorce from reality ~ or a type of inner division such as man against himself.”

Dane further says: “There is a beginning in the darkness, or unconsciousness of instinct AND there is a beginning in the full light of conscious intelligence. There is a beginning in scarcity and in need and there is a possibility of birth out of plenitude and clear vision. (A birth out of plenitude) demands an increased awareness of objective participation in a greater whole. It produces a mounting sense of responsibility in terms of basic social purposes or, if the configuration operates negatively, a sense of defeat or of “what is the use?”

The New Moon also works with all the planets currently transiting in the last degrees of the signs, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune. Saturn, still retrograde, in late Virgo has a trine to the New Moon that supports changing or adjusting the procedures, steps, routines or processes that you take to create your life. Uranus and Jupiter in late Pisces both form an opening sextile to the New Moon’s energy and ask you to work in a new way with the concept of union, blending and your soul’s purpose to see how your dreams are reflected in your chart. How can you change or expand your actions to help those dreams of yours come in? Neptune in Aquarius squares the New Moon inquiring how you like what has shown up so far and asking, with the opening square energy, if there is any thing else to tackle to get that dream changed, adjusted or moving a bit faster?

Venus, the ruler of the Taurus Sun and Moon is out of bounds by declination in Gemini. Gemini means we have a choice. Out of bounds means we have ENORMOUS and very freeing opportunities in our choices, provided we take advantage of them. We have the basic journalism questions of Who, how, what, where, when and why to answer as we work with this New Moon energy. Gemini is the sign of duality. Yes/No. Black/White. On/Off. Stop/Go. In/Out. Consider changing your position on the New Moon if you do not like where you are right this second in your lives. Know the universe is bringing changes to your door step. The New Moon reminds us always have a choice even as we are entering the opposition energy of Saturn to Jupiter. If you DON’T like it, you CAN change it.

The out of bounds Venus at 23 Gemini forms a fast moving t-square with Saturn in Virgo and Jupiter/ Uranus in Pisces. The outlet of the t-square is Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a freedom oriented visionary sign, pushing the limits and boundaries towards a future vision. The archer imagery of launching an arrow into the heavens comes to mind. Back in 2000, you may not have REALIZED you were starting a new 20 year cycle. Now, reading this column and reflecting on your path over the past 10 years, you DO have that illumination and understanding. So taking that wisdom and combining it with the starting and initiating energy of the most fertile New Moons of the year, the planting moon, make sure to plant great new seeds for your next 10 years as the planet ruling abundance and expansion heads towards his reunion with the planet ruling physical creation on the earth as well as your purpose for existing.

As Dane put it so beautifully, There is a beginning in the full light of conscious intelligence. There is a possibility of birth out of plenitude and clear vision.

And, if you are NOT so happy with where you are right now, there is a beginning in the darkness, or unconsciousness of instinct. There is a beginning in scarcity and in need.

Take time each day over the next 10 days to think about your life as a series of cycles. We approach the first of the Jupiter Saturn oppositions celebrating our 10 years in the new cycle and mark the moment as a half way mark through another Great Cycle in our lives. It is a fabulous and very productive moon for a ritual celebrating the creation energy in your life and world. Light candles and take quiet time to meditate on your path these last ten years. The road taken has wound you forward to where you are right now. The next 10 years, you will find closes this chapter up and creates the fruit that will sustain you in the next Great Cycle.

And those of you who are a bit older, the earlier Great Cycles were November 1901 at 13° Capricorn, September 10, 1921 at 26° Virgo, February 15, 1941 at 09° Taurus, February 18, 1961 at 25° Capricorn, and July 24,1981 at 04° Libra. If you look at the house where the Great Conjunction landed in your chart, and examine your Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces ruled houses, you’ll spot the evolution of your soul and your life as they grew in this incarnation. Don’t you just love astrology?

Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sabian Image for the New Sun and Moon union is AN INDIAN WARRIOR RIDING FIERCELY WITH HUMAN SCALPS HANGING AT HIS BELT

Commentary: ‘An Indian Warrior Riding Fiercely With Human Scalps Hanging at His Belt’ is a Symbol of great force and conquest. ‘Scalping’ is often associated with American Indians. The fact is, however, that the Indians learnt the practice of ‘Scalping’ from the Europeans, where it was a well-established tradition. It is not well known that the English also paid bounties for Irish scalps. The original Indian tradition was for the ‘Warrior’ to steal something from the person conquered to show how strong his medicine was to others. Regardless of who does it: a vengeful heart creates only sadness for all concerned, and there are no real winners, in the end.

Oracle: Someone may have been holding back from pursuing what they’ve wanted and are now going after all they can get. Consideration may need to be made concerning other people’s rights as this can point to the invasion of other people’s space or territory. The “us or them” mentality can lead to disputes, and separations and the forgetting of a sense of people’s humanity. Perhaps you haven’t been given a fair share of things by society, or these have literally been taken from you. There can be a chain reaction set off with this Symbol, so there needs to be care taken that a real “war” is not started with people seeking revenge. There may be a need for someone to mark their territory and claim their dues. Look to see if there are barriers up to prevent invasions of territory, yours or another’s. Be wary of excessive competition, in the marketplace or the home, as this can scare people off – making the environment unsafe and unsound. Taken to its extreme, this Symbol can point to all-out wars between people.Alternatively, with a level of controlled aggression and taking necessary risks, you can be recognized for your abilities as a successful leader, prepared to face risks to succeed. Bravery and honor are often admired and respected by others.

Keywords: Race wars. Claiming one’s soil. Fighting for territory. Trophies of conquest. Aggression. Basic instincts. Territoriality. Chain reactions. *** -for-tat. Competitive natures. Risks for the clan or group. Trophies, medals and diplomas. Striving for recognition and respect, deserved or not. Blood and sacrifice. Tribes mourning their losses and their dead. Ritualistic behaviors. Marking victories. War crimes.

The Caution: Conquering others without emotion. Showing off to intimidate others. Domination and ruthlessness. Taking things because one can. Violation of other’s space. Testosterone. Feeling taken advantage of. Notches on the belt, or gun. Cycles of retribution. Vengeance.
