Allow me to pick the workings of your fascinating brain with a few questions:

1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?

2. Do you have a university (or other..) degree? If so, what is the subject area?

3. What are your favorite books and/or magazines?

4. How do you react when you encounter opinions that are different to your own? Can you accept other view points... or do you attempt to persuade the person otherwise?

5. Have you ever been in a situation where you found someone's perspective so absolutely ridiculous that you simply could not accept it as a valid *alternative*?

6. You have just met someone whom you have an amazing mental connection with. Describe this person (their speech rate, the things they talk about with you, their voice etc.)?

7. List some topics you are extremely interested in -- things you could discuss all day long and not get bored..

8. How do you relate to Pisces Mercury people? Would you say these people are interesting to talk to -- or -- neutral to boring for you?

9. How do you relate to Pisces Jupiter people? Again, would you say they are interesting or boring - in conversation?

Have an awesome day!
Cheers

PS. If you do not have a Virgo Mercury yourself.. but you are/were close to someone who has this Mercury -- you can answer the questions for them!

PPS. If you'd prefer to keep certain things private, then answer only a couple of those - I don't mind.. (I'd rather you answer a couple, than none lol)

Hi, I know 2 Virgo Mercury people, so maybe this can be helpful. A is a family member, and B is a classmate.

quote:
1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?

A - never really had a definite area of interest.
B - is in the computer science course.
quote:
2. Do you have a university (or other..) degree? If so, what is the subject area?

A - is still at high school but planning to get a university degree (computer science).
B - is currently taking the computer science degree.
quote:
3. What are your favorite books and/or magazines?

A - from what I know he doesn't really read.
B - not sure.
quote:
4. How do you react when you encounter opinions that are different to your own? Can you accept other view points... or do you attempt to persuade the person otherwise?

A - tries to persuade the other person. Thinks that he knows when he's right or wrong, as he thinks that his logic is right coz it's based on the common sense logic. Can't understand that our logic is relative and depends on each of our own way of perceiving. But well, he's still young, so he will understand that eventually (his Mercury is in 12th house and forming a t-square with his Neptune/Saturn/Uranus and Jupiter opposition - can be a great mental potential).
B - never argued with him, nor seen him argue with anyone due to differences of opinions.
quote:
5. Have you ever been in a situation where you found someone's perspective so absolutely ridiculous that you simply could not accept it as a valid *alternative*?

A - I would think that he did.
B - Don't know.
quote:
6. You have just met someone whom you have an amazing mental connection with. Describe this person (their speech rate, the things they talk about with you, their voice etc.)?

A - Not sure, but probably it's someone who agrees with his ideas lol and has ideas that are compatible with his.
B - Not sure. But probably someone that has some intelligence and doesn't have vulgar femininity.
quote:
7. List some topics you are extremely interested in -- things you could discuss all day long and not get bored..

A - video games, fashion trends (he's Libra AC/Venus), movies, series..
B - computers lol not sure about the rest.
quote:
8. How do you relate to Pisces Mercury people? Would you say these people are interesting to talk to -- or -- neutral to boring for you?

A - 2 of our family members has Pisces Mercury. He's interesting in talking with them, but maybe when one of them is being too sensitive, he might not like it. The Pisces Mercury is compassionate, while the Virgo Mercury is critical. But then they are similar somehow. Now imagine when they fight lol.
B - Not sure, but I would think that he likes sensitive girls. Hmm I guess that he has Pisces Moon thought.
quote:
9. How do you relate to Pisces Jupiter people? Again, would you say they are interesting or boring - in conversation?

A and B - not sure. Although I would imagine that for A, it might complete his grand cross lol.

I've got a Virgo Mercury, along with a Virgo Sun and Venus. However, my Mercury is at the end of my 10th, whereas my Sun and Venus are at the beginning. Mercury squares Neptune, semi-sextiles Venus and Saturn, loosely sextiles Jupiter, trines Chiron, and opposes my Moon.

1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?

I loved English, and later on, theatre. I was awesome at English. I tested out of English Lit and Comp for college.

I loved English because I love reading and writing. I can analyze any paper, book, sentence for tone, syntax, etc.

I HATED math, purely for the fact that I did NOT have a natural gift for it like I did English. Let's just say that my SAT score was ridiculously lopsided. Had I also been gifted in math, I would have been able to get into any college I wanted to.

2. Do you have a university (or other..) degree? If so, what is the subject area?

Yes, I have 2 degrees. B.A. in psychology, M.A. in counseling.

I ALMOST became a journalism major, but decided that I didn't want to do that.

3. What are your favorite books and/or magazines?

Honestly, my favorite books are psychology, astrology, metaphysical based. I used to read fiction, more when I was in school, but I really prefer to LEARN SOMETHING from what I read. That's when I really get into what I'm reading.

However, when I do read fictional books, I usually read fantasy or the classics, and on occasion, sci-fi.

4. How do you react when you encounter opinions that are different to your own? Can you accept other view points... or do you attempt to persuade the person otherwise?

Absolutely I can accept other viewpoints... If those viewpoints have a very valid, logical reason for being.

When I was younger (in college) I used to try and debate with people who were just as set in their opinions on things as I was. I've since learned that doing that only raises my blood pressure, so I won't debate with anyone who I know doesn't have an open mind to debate and at least agree to disagree.

However, I do LOVE debating with someone who has a different view point, but who has a logical stance for their side of the debate. It fascinates me the way some people think.

5. Have you ever been in a situation where you found someone's perspective so absolutely ridiculous that you simply could not accept it as a valid *alternative*?

Absolutely. Those are the people I will not debate with anymore. I'll talk to them and accept them as they are, but the second heavy issues come up, I'm out the door.

6. You have just met someone whom you have an amazing mental connection with. Describe this person (their speech rate, the things they talk about with you, their voice etc.)?

Oh gosh. Most of the time I've had an amazing mental connection with someone, I've also had an amazing emotional connection with that person as well.

I'll pick one of my close friends whom I still keep in contact with. He's got a slow but steady tone, very thoughtful about what he's saying, will get heated only when he really believes in something. Most of the time he and I would talk about politics or history since he was a history major, however we'd also venture in to psychology, philosophy, and religion.

7. List some topics you are extremely interested in -- things you could discuss all day long and not get bored..

Like I mentioned before: psychology, philosophy, politics, religion, history, why other people do what they do, astrology.

8. How do you relate to Pisces Mercury people? Would you say these people are interesting to talk to -- or -- neutral to boring for you?

The first person that pops into my head is also a good friend of mine. He is probably the only Pisces friend I have. Interestingly, he and I HATED each other when we met. Part of this was due to how we each communicated. However, once we got to know each other (through the help of mutual friends), he became one of my favorite people to talk to because he does have a very different way of processing things. He's also quiet and thoughtful, but in a different way than my friend that I mentioned before. He is very interesting to talk to, even if we flat out don't understand each other sometimes. He's got a good heart.

9. How do you relate to Pisces Jupiter people? Again, would you say they are interesting or boring - in conversation?

I do have one Pisces Jupiter friend. Honestly... But I think that this is just because her personality is a lot different from mine... I do find her a bit boring. She tells wonderful stories, but what she talks about only relates to her. That gets tedious after awhile. I don't know that it has to do with her Pisces Jupiter though. I would imagine it would be more due to other factors in her chart (Gemini Sun, Leo Rising, Aries Moon for starters).

i am virgo mercury, loosely conjunct saturn and OPPOSITE my first house pisces moon. i also have jupiter in H12 and uranus sextile merc...

1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?

english, history, math and languages; music, dance, creative writing

2. Do you have a university (or other..) degree? If so, what is the subject area?

a ba in english lit, professional deg as needed

3. What are your favorite books and/or magazines?

my tastes have changed as the years go by, i have read so many books i lost count years ago, but now:

music mags, english home, not big on magazines really...books - metaphysical, history, mostly, for now...

the first book i remember reading was heidi, at about age 5. the secret garden was another childhood favourite, and the borrowers. my mother read beowulf to me as bedtime material which left a lasting impression. at ten i read gone with the wind 5 times!

4. How do you react when you encounter opinions that are different to your own? Can you accept other view points... or do you attempt to persuade the person otherwise?

i can accept other viewpoints but i do have a tendency to get stuck on faulty points of logic or information...these i will argue relentlessly. otherwise to each his own! and i appreciate people who understand that my differing opinion doesn't mean i don't like THEM.

5. Have you ever been in a situation where you found someone's perspective so absolutely ridiculous that you simply could not accept it as a valid *alternative*?

for sure~ in which case i will either retreat into myself, change the subject or the person i am talking to (walk away)

6. You have just met someone whom you have an amazing mental connection with. Describe this person (their speech rate, the things they talk about with you, their voice etc.)?

funny, subject matter is not important. the fact that they are keen on ideas is; love to talk music with other musicians, and astrology with some people - i enjoy people who have the gift of the gab, and will listen to great talkers even if i disagree with them... people who can understand that disagreement on a point is not a personal putdown are more fun to talk TO/with.

7. List some topics you are extremely interested in -- things you could discuss all day long and not get bored..

music, astrology, metaphysics...health

8. How do you relate to Pisces Mercury people? Would you say these people are interesting to talk to -- or -- neutral to boring for you?

fantastic, as long as they don't go into victim mode on me.

9. How do you relate to Pisces Jupiter people? Again, would you say they are interesting or boring - in conversation?

i honestly don't know if i know any!!

I have Mercury in Virgo in the 10th house, conjunct Venus, square Jupiter & Uranus, square Chiron, and in a grand trine with the Moon and Neptune. It's also sextile Saturn & Pluto, and quintile my Ascendant.

1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?

I always liked math. I also really liked art. I used to want to be an artist when I was little. Math: I dont know, I like numbers...I'm very good at math. I have a great memory for numbers too. Later, I also loved Chemistry, and I love learning languages (which I also excel at). I studied Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.

2. Do you have a university (or other..) degree? If so, what is the subject area?

My degree is actually in Physics but with Philosophy. I took a lot of philosophy courses in college, which I enjoyed.

3. What are your favorite books and/or magazines?

Hmmm really the majority of the books that I read are astrology books. Magazines: I like Glamour.

4. How do you react when you encounter opinions that are different to your own? Can you accept other view points... or do you attempt to persuade the person otherwise?

I dont have a problem with it. I can't stand when someone is so fixated on their own beliefs that they absolutely refuse to listen to another's point of view, as if just by hearing it that will automatically change their opinions. That could happen, but if anything, I would think that hearing different beliefs would help to make your own stronger, because then you can come up with more counter-arguments which further support your own ideas.

5. Have you ever been in a situation where you found someone's perspective so absolutely ridiculous that you simply could not accept it as a valid *alternative*?

I don't think so. Actually, I guess so, whenever it just didnt make any sense, logically.

6. You have just met someone whom you have an amazing mental connection with. Describe this person (their speech rate, the things they talk about with you, their voice etc.)?

I don't particularly like being around people who are very loud personalities, for example people who seem to be really loud in an effort to be funny. Maybe thats not the case, but thats how it seems to me. It just gets a little annoying, and perhaps overwhelming. Its like a geyser thats always spurting out stuff, but there isnt much to it. Its not like a huge eruption, just constant little spurts, as opposed to the volcano that seeths with lava. Its intense, and only blows out its 'substance' when its ready.
Their voice is not too high pitched, not too too low, just medium, and calm sounding I guess. They probably don't talk too fast either, but not slow talking, just a regular speed.

7. List some topics you are extremely interested in -- things you could discuss all day long and not get bored..

Astrology...I could read about astrological topics all day.
Gymnastics...I was a competitive gymnast and it was my life. Its still a passion.
Spiritual subjects...dreams, spirits...
Aliens/UFOs
The human body

8. How do you relate to Pisces Mercury people? Would you say these people are interesting to talk to -- or -- neutral to boring for you?

I don't think I know any Mercury in Pisces people, so I couldn't say.

9. How do you relate to Pisces Jupiter people? Again, would you say they are interesting or boring - in conversation?

Again, I don't think I know any Jupiter in Pisces people.

Interesting questions!

I'm a Virgo, and had I been born a few days earlier...I would've had Mercury in Virgo too. Maybe it's a good thing it's in Libra, cuz everyone tells me I'm hardcore virgo--crazy nitpicker. Anyways 2 Virgo Sun/Mercs come to mind. Both are CEO's, but I'll just talk about the one I know better.

1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?

I dont know which subject he, "enjoyed" the most, but he's quite the intellectual in all subjects. Although I suspect Math...cuz he's all about making money & #-crunch'n. Possibly writing as well, as both are superb communicators.

2. Do you have a university (or other..) degree? If so, what is the subject area?

Both CEO's each holds a masters in Business. Both attended ivy leagues, one from Northwestern, the other from Harvard.

3. What are your favorite books and/or magazines?

I never asked. However, one day while I was reading the wall street journal, CEO-1 came over and said, "I subscribe to that too!"

4. How do you react when you encounter opinions that are different to your own? Can you accept other view points... or do you attempt to persuade the person otherwise?

I find both CEO's very open-minded. They'll attentively listen to you. Even if someone's POV's dont mesh with theirs, they'll still take what other's have to say into account (before making a decision). However when it comes to the final decision, they just execute, as they've already weighed both sides of the coin.

5. Have you ever been in a situation where you found someone's perspective so absolutely ridiculous that you simply could not accept it as a valid *alternative*?

I'm sure they have...as Virgos never accept ridiculous/impracticality. Speaking for myself, I think it's impractical & a waste of time trying to change that person's thinking. It's more practical worrying about my own affairs.

6. You have just met someone whom you have an amazing mental connection with. Describe this person (their speech rate, the things they talk about with you, their voice etc.)?

I really connected with both CEO's, especially one of them. They're very much like myself (as our Suns are all conjunct),in regards to speech, social ettiquette, even style lol. Both were very calm, polite & refined. The way they talked were somewhat controlled (more so than me), as in choice of words, to their rhythm & speech tempo. Voices were neither low nor high. You get an overall sense of intellectual worldliness. Whereas with Gemini's you feel more vibrance, impatience, curiosity in their speech patterns...and very random choice of words.

7. List some topics you are extremely interested in -- things you could discuss all day long and not get bored..

Both are obviously obsessed with money making. They kept talking about their companies, capital-ventures, and giving me all sorts of business advice. It was interesting. One of the CEO's made money through purchasing bankrupted companies at a lower rate, re-structuring them and selling them for profit. The other was a Film Producer, asides from business, he was very much into Fine Arts & Culture.

8. How do you relate to Pisces Mercury people? Would you say these people are interesting to talk to -- or -- neutral to boring for you?

I dont know how they would relate to Pisces Mercury ppz. I suspect NOT good lol.

My mom is a Pisces Sun/Merc. It would be a total understatement to say she drives both my bros (both geminis) & myself insane. All 3 of us...4 (including my dad) agree she's unrealistic, impractical, & absolutely illogical lol.

9. How do you relate to Pisces Jupiter people? Again, would you say they are interesting or boring - in conversation?

Not sure I know of anyone with Pisces Jupiter.

I will read through all these
Sorry for my late reply but I couldn't get to a proper net connection in the past few days.

Jane - you can delete it now - sorry!
-- PS. Love you Jane --

Karen - I missed yours

Thank you all so much for answering my questions!

I have a Virgo Mercury in my life at the moment and I was curious to know more about their thinking process.

I have both Pisces Merc and Pisces Jupiter opposite this person's Mercury. We are studying the same subjects and they seem fascinated by me... I am just worried the fascination will turn into dislike, in time. But I also have a strong Cappy bone which is trine Virgo - so it should be OK... *fingers crossed*

I ask:

"What is your favourite food?"

He answers:

"well 90% of men my age like eating toast in the morning"

EVERY single question is like this.

His Mercury is sextile Mars in Scorpio.

Can someone please help me *help* this guy - snap out of it?
I'm running out of ideas - short of putting him in a microwave on defrost.

Hahahaha...

Sorry. That probably wasn't funny to you. It was funny to me because it sounds like something a Virgo influenced person might say. It's deflection of answering the question with humor (maybe he doesn't want to be pinned down for some reason; probably has to do with the Mars in Scorpio along with the mutable quality of Virgo).

Or maybe (and this would be my more honest and likely guess) is that he really doesn't think that his favorite food is that IMPORTANT in the grand scheme of things. If you're asking a bunch of trivia questions about him and his life, what you're likely to get in return is, well, trivia. ESPECIALLY from someone with a Virgo Mercury because we have a great memory for facts, figures, and trivia. Plus, Mars in Scorpio is heavy and not exactly prone to small talk.

It would help to know what some of his other placements are.

I don't think you're likely to *help* this guy any time soon if you think that snapping out of it is his problem. Taking a different tact of trying to figure out why he's not being up front or direct with you is more important for you at this juncture if you really have an interest in him. Or hell... Maybe he's just got a sense of humor and is messing with you because he likes you. That's up to you to figure out.

LOL enchantress - It's actually funny now, after reading your post.

I have Capricorn Mars which is also heavy.
But I guess I don't see practical things as "small talk". I mean if I want to cook something, I'd rather cook something he likes.. and I'm not a mind reader.

My chart: Aries Sun, Cap Moon, Cancer AC, Pisces Mercury, Taurus Venus, Cap Mars.

His chart: Leo Sun, Taurus Moon, (probably Libra AC), Virgo Mercury, Cancer Venus, Scorpio Mars.

quote:
I don't think you're likely to *help* this guy any time soon if you think that snapping out of it is his problem. Taking a different tact of trying to figure out why he's not being up front or direct with you is more important for you at this juncture if you really have an interest in him. Or hell... Maybe he's just got a sense of humor and is messing with you because he likes you.

I think that's great advice!
But I'm not all that sure that I even like him.. I'm still thinking lol
It's interesting because the man of my dreams has a similar chart to him (Leo, Virgo Venus, Cancer Mercury, Scorpio Mars). We are in love but can't be together for now, due to circumstances. It's just strange that I've attracted this guy in my life.

Yes...
I also have Pluto and Uranus conjunct in Virgo in the 8th sextile Mars, Neptune, MC conjunct in Scorpio...

I've always felt comfortable with and admired the Pisces energy..the whole opposite thing is very true for me. Fills in the gaps and can show me things about myself that I might otherwise miss.. and I don't miss much..lol

Let's seem I'm a three-planet Virgo, so here goes...

1. My favorite subject in school was English, and I excelled at Honors/AP classes because I genuinely enjoy analyzing literature and crafting both term papers and poetry with ease...words just seem a natural medium for me.

2. I have three years completed towards a Bachelors in Business (which started out undecided and initially leaned towards an English major )

I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist, which is another facet of Virgo, the healer in service to the needy.

3. My favorite books are historical fiction and fantasy novels such as Kushiel's Legacy, and The Dragonriders of Pern.

My favorite magazines are Cosmopolitan, Better Homes and Gardens, People, and Shape.

4. When I encounter different viewpoints from my own I try to listen to their side (IF they can be rational and logical), and then attempt to present the case for my view, illustrating with 60% fact and 40% personal experience.

5. Oh, yes, I have encountered totally radical viewpoints and they drive me batty. I'm particularly frustrated when someone's only evidence is how they "feel", with no other attempt made to show the validity from external sources.

6. A person who I have an amazing mental connection with speaks fast, but listens well, medium tone of voice, they make me laugh even at absurd things and are always quick to crack a joke, and yet they are sensitive enough to notice when they offend me and can take a small back step. We can sometimes talk about absolutely nothing of significance, and they don't force solutions upon my problems, but listen as I vent/rant occasionally, and I smile any time when I hear their voice. They have to be intelligent enough to know a variety of topics, and yet open to asking questions when they don't so I can properly enlighten them.

7. I could discuss astrology and genealogy ALL day and never get bored, I'm so passionate about both and the research side is energizing!

8. I relate well to Pisces Mercury people, as long as I remember they like to be vague and it's not a personal offense when they side-step my questions, or change the subject, even when they pry into my life incessantly. They are interesting enough to keep my attention as long as they don't become too needy.

9. Pisces Jupiter people are pretty cool, just a little too mild and slow-moving sometimes for my quick mind and actions (I've also got an Aries Rising). They are super-romantic and I'm more skeptical by nature, and I see them as weaker in certain situations for falling too hard for an illusion.

VL - your list of questions was very different to the sample question and answer in your later post..had you asked me what is my favourite food, i would have to answer, that question is WAY too narrow and therefore IMPOSSIBLE to answer...perhaps that is why he went into statistics - ?? in fact if he is having breakfast at your house i would say he probably likes you!! and even if you asked "what would you like?" he would probably not be comfortable answering since it is your house and he doesn't know what you've got in the larder...

tho i have little problem CHOOSING - say in a restaurant - the situation above would leave me stumped.

I was asking because we were going to have dinner at my place the night after. I could've bought things. This didn't happen at breakfast time.

Anyway - that was just one example. It happens basically every time I ask something that is not work-related. Instead of answering - he diverts to statistics.

*sigh*

Vapor,

["I ask:
"What is your favourite food?"
He answers:
"well 90% of men my age like eating toast in the morning"
EVERY single question is like this."]

...you mean every answer you get...I really cracked up when I read that. lol.
My bestfriend would say I'm just like this guy your seeing then. She always complains, "WHY do you have to use WELL---followed by some stats/facts," every time you answer a damn Q'?!
I guess that, (well--*fact*fact*), must be a classic Virgoan trait. lol~

Well the next time he does that, you should answer: "Statistics show that 99.9% of women hate it when people answer their questions with statistics."

He might get the hint then, and then at least you'll have a chance to zing him.
