Teasel - You should've taken a guess!!

So here is the story:

They both work for the UN but they hold different positions and they're located in different countries. When they "met", a few years ago she was in Prague and he was in US (he was still studying then). His wedding took place about a week before he found out about her. He came across some articles she wrote online (she had just finished her PhD). He then looked for her and eventually found her on a blog and they began talking. He fell in love with her at first sight (quite literally!) and traveled to see her the following month under the guise of "research" work. He was not in love with his wife at all. He wanted out. It was almost a "pre-arranged" marriage for religious and family reasons. His family is very very traditional (very religious!) and also very wealthy. After they met they had an affair for about a year when he finally broke things off with his wife. For that year it was indeed secret and few people knew about it. You were all right to mention spirituality & religion.. because the divorce was scandalous for his family - but also the fact that he was leaving his wife for someone who was of a different religion (their religions are extremely different and clashing). He was going to be disowned basically - and she decided to switch to his religion which caused personal problems with her own family. This improved things but he is always a bit like an outcast to his family, to this day. Because his position at work (he was into politics) was intertwined with family relations - he was also fired. But things picked up in time and he began working at the UN as she was. They almost never lived together for longer than a few months though and they still live in different countries now, but they see each other pretty often. This is causing problems because they would both like to settle down and she wants to have a child with him - but due to their careers they're both pretty stuck. Either way someone would have to give up an important position - and they both care about their work (which is Uranian-humanitarian). The negative and uncertain part is whether either of them will actually move *for* the other.. They seem a bit at cross-purposes now.. but they are still very much in love. I don't think this will kill their relationship - simply because there is indeed a strong spiritual element. When she converted to his religion she read a lot about it beforehand and they went to a particular place together where they had a strange (almost spooky) experience. He doesn't want me to go into this though… but it was extremely ethereal and since that day they were and *are* convinced that it is fated.

Yesterday, I'd been thinking of how the job of a man is generally seen as the more important of the two, in a marriage (family moves for the man's job, if necessary, but I don't often hear of it being so accepted if the woman gets a similar chance). I wasn't thinking that in terms of this thread, though - it was just swimming in there with other thoughts. I think it's lovely that they're so committed to each other - with all of that Uranus energy, they have that Saturn trine Moon to balance things out a little. Jupiter + Neptune on the cusp of the 6th, in Capricorn, definitely makes sense in light of what you've told us about their careers, and the spiritual experience. (I didn't make any guesses, because my head has been too muddled - I was focused more on the baby thing, but you said something about there not being physical distance, so it threw me off into other possibilities).

*oops. They're not on the cusp of the 6th, that's Mars and Uranus. That other line threw me off - I hardly ever really look at charts like this. It's been too long...

Teasel - That is true about careers. It seems to be the woman who gives hers up, usually.. But he is so far from being chauvinistic he couldn't catch a bus back to that. He is very supportive of her, but I'm not sure he can really give up his position that easily.

Sorry - I just re-read that.. I stuffed up. I keep thinking their careers are the main problem.. so I wanted to get at that, but the physical distance is significant.

Wow, Vapor. That's so interesting, what an amazing story...I'm glad I was close. I was expecting the weirdness you mentioned... the UN stuff is way weird. Although to be honest I had one thought at some point that they both took like vows to the church or something LOL.

Yes, I feel like they/the relationship have been getting by on optimism and ideals for a mighty long time....yet it's kind of fated too. Maybe fated for them to make a decision by now!
But now I look at it and see how insidious Uranus is for this relationship because not only is it in the way as work and obligation, but it's also probably one of the most important keys itself in the relationship. I'd also think Uranus would be very sensitive to transits and progressions in this relationship since the relationship itself is so Uranian in nature.

Still, I think at its worst these two will be best friends even if things don't work out and need to part ways.
