Hi everyone, I was reading the thread about Mars in the 1st House, and it's relation to scarring of the face and it made me wonder about Mars and accidents.

My solar return reports for this year all stated to be extra careful because I could be more accident prone this year. (I have SR Mars in the 1st house conjunct my natal ascendent) I've already accidentally cut myself more times than I can count the past few weeks, and got a minor burn on my finger. I noticed I do things very quickly and not as carefully lately.

Does anyone have any experience with this SR placement making them more accident prone. Will I have to watch out for accidents and scarring to my face?

My friend got attacked and by a doberman a few years back, and now has a scar on her lip. The most significant placement in her solar return that year was SR Pluto conjunct natal Ascendant in the 6th house. So just thinking maybe Pluto may be involved in accidents and scarring as well.

My solar return for 2008 bought my natal Mars very tightly conjunct the SR Ascendant and my first thoughts were I was going to be in an accident.

I tried really hard to get that thought out of my mind – self fulfilling prophecy and all that but I just couldn’t shake the thought………..until my lifelong good health streak took an about face and I had to go and have exploratory surgery. Following that I never thought about the accident possibility again, surgery is very Mars-y and I was then able to let it go.

A prominent SR Mars could manifest in any number of ways really, unfortunately our first thoughts are often worst case scenarios.

My SR Mars in exactly conjunct my SR ASC this year. I've been bumping into things maybe but nothing too bad. Mars can manifest in a lot of ways, don't be scared! In my experience, as an Aries Rising too, Mars 1st house accidents happen because you're kind of blindly running around and not attentive. Awareness and slowing down a little is all it takes!

Hi Winter,

I'm so sorry to hear about the turn in your health. Surgery is such a scary thing to go through. I hope everything turned out ok.
I agree that the bad reputation Mars gets is haunting. I think about it everyday, fear of accidents and sickness.

One big difference I've noticed in my life since my solar return is that there is a lot of anger in me. Everyone I interact with seems to be fighting me about every little insignificant thing. I have people yelling at me for no reason and trying to control me. I can see how this energy can manifest negatively into accidents.

I'm trying to keep a peaceful mind about everything. And I'm trying to find different outlets.

My health is taking a turn for the worst too. My eating habits have been terrible and I've gained about 7 pounds. I'm having joint pain and I'm seeing a doctor about a potential ulcer.

Lot's of things going on just in the past month.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. I hope you have recovered from your surgery and are now healthy and well again.

Staborgi, thanks so much for the great advice! I definitely need to slow down and be more cautious day to day!

clumsy. thats how it's manifesting for me

i'm clumsy as hell

im knocking over pint glasses and spilling coffee left and right

most scatterbrained in the morning. i'm just forgetting to put on my shoes and running out in my slippers and running back in.

it's just that martian energy rampaging through. things to do, people to see etc etc etc that your mind forgets the little things

I have Mars conjunct the ASC and triple Aries - good at athletic stuff and I have quick reflexes, BUT I cause more wear and tear to things than I realize at the time. Definitely not a physically dainty or careful person.

MY SO has this in his natal and he isn't necessarily accident prone but he has had extreme accidents and falls. He has a scar right above his eye from falling off his bike rolling down a giant hill. So yes, be careful but be mindful of other interpretations as well

I also have Mars in 1st house this year, not conjunct my ASC, though.
I have Moon in the 8th house.
So far this to me means dental works, including wisdom tooth extraction.

Generally, Mars (and even Sun) are bad when they are in the 1st, 6th or 12th house in a Solar Return chart. Stellium in any of these houses is even more dangerous, i believe.

How Mars would manifest in the 1st house is individual and also depends on where the SR houses fall in the natal chart, what aspects are being made, transits in relation to both charts and other things also matter.
So don't panic for no reason, because that alone is unhealthy.

For 2009 i had a very packed first house, with Mars and Sun conjunct the ASC in Sag, also Jupiter in the late degrees of the 1st.
I had an extremely interesting and active year. No accidents or anything like that.
But you have to be very careful for things that may be happening in the background. Things that you are likely to miss or think are actually good for you.
In my case, as great as most of the year seemed to be, i now know how unfortunate it was in terms of my health. I thought i was getting a medical treatment that was going to finally resolve an issue for me. Sadly this "treatment" only made my problems worse in the long run and really affected other areas of my health as wll. I was oblivious that year though, i was in love, we were having so much fun, overeating with junk foods too, staying up very late etc.
For those who were wondering about Jupiter in 1st related to gaining weight - yes, it could manifest in that way. I did gain 11-12 pounds due to this "fun" lifestyle, but this is not at all a concern for me anyway.

I notice, the true effects of such malicious SR positions are really felt and seen in the next year, and in my case, the effects have been very long lasting.

I found out i had a packed 6th house SR last year, and i can tell you from personal experience that the most important events usually happen in the last 3 months of the year.

Soooo i would advise anyone who is not in pristine health to avoid stelliums in 1st, 6th or 12th house. And those who consider themselves healthy are likely to experience negative changes in that area with such SR placements.

Those who may wonder/worry about vehicle accidents, i can tell you specific planets in the third house may be significant.

I would like to recommend this reading for those who would like to learn more about the (negative) aspects of SR placements:
http://www.solarreturns.com/Solar_Returns_book.htm

and specifically these sections:
03. The Twelve Houses that you can adjust in Solar Returns
04. The Celestials in the Houses

The entire book is interesting though.

You will see that it is possible to use "life hacks" to gain more control over certain bad placements and thus trick/turn things around.

No, you will not end up with scars all over your face from accidents.

I'm an Aries sun, Mercury and Mars and the only scars I have are from acne and one on the side of my face from when I had the chicken pox.

My sister is a Leo sun, Mars, Mercury and rising with Mars and Mercury conjunct her rising, she doesn't have any scars, never had acne, and even today at 40 her skin is flawless.

My natal chart has Mars in the first and I'm an Aries sun. I do like to drive fast, and keep active, and have been involved in a few accidents. But, so far, none of the car accidents I've been in have been my fault. I have slowed down a lot now that I have children, though.
