i am struggling.

ever since uranus squared my neptune (12th house 0 capricorn), i've not been able to sleep. i mean just laying in the bed and rolling over constantly. i fall asleep for maybe 30 min, then i wake up and my brain is going 105 miles per hour. i went to bed early last nite after having tea with valerian root in it. i was in bed for 12 hours and only got about 4 hours of inconsistent sleep.

i've been so fatigued the past 2 weeks, with the exception of a couple days last week.

oh, uranus also in orb for a square to my jupiter and ascendant at 3 capricorn.

anybody else experiencing this? remedies?

Yeah, I'm turning all night. Some indication from my natal that sleep will be very much in focus right now.

Sleep is house 12 - opposite of house 6, which is: job, diet and health.
With 12th being opposite of the 6th, and considering an opposition can be the worst aspect, you can say the 12th house can show: unemployment, bad diet and ill health.

I was sleeping and thinking of having a cup of tea and/or cigarette (both 12th house items it seems) yet decided against due to them keeping me awake.

I guess it's all about physical control. Make sure that you eat well, stay nicotine-free, and do everything possible to get sleepy.

A temporary fix is prescribed medicine (or even anything you can get your hands on)

If Uranus/Neptune is involved as the 12th and/or 1st rulers, you should consider this a longer astrological transit than normal.
I don't have your chart, and not a sleep doctor.

Wish you the best. Not nice lack of sleep, especially when you have a lot to do when awake.

my moon is involved too. squared by pluto.

i'm sure its just transits. i usually sleep for very long periods of time. me and sleep are usually great friends. not right now though. i'm gonna try to do some really strenuous exercise today and see if that helps.

For a couple of years, bc of obligations, my sleep was limited to 4 hours a night, at most. Many nights I only slept 2. Even when the time I had available for sleep opened up to a normal 8, my body couldn't stay asleep for that long. It was nearly a year before I started sleeping a full night.

So I know how frustrating sleep deprivation is! I even hallucinated a couple of times. That was fun, especially when there were witnesses. Real witnessees. Unfortunately I wasn't hallucinating *them*.

What helped me sleep was accepting that my task was done. I stopped waking feeling an urgent need to DO.

Maybe figure out if there's an area of your life where you're driving yourself too hard? If you could identify where that is, you could 1). Start taking practical steps to achieve and 2). Make peace with your current development.

You've probably already tried this, but another solution is working your body to exhaustion - going for a 90 minute run, anything intense to wear your body so down that its needs can overpower your mind.

jane.
you are so on point.

i am obsessing over finishing this project. and unfortunately its an ongoing thing so there is no end in sight. i kept waking up thinking about a darn press release.

i just walked 3.5 miles. took me about an hour. i'm hoping that helps. i don't drink coffee. haven't had any tea. i don't smoke or drink alcohol. i am pretty much vegan with the occasional piece of fish. very health conscious. exercise is the only piece i'm missing because i've been a workaholic. i used to exercise but i will start to do it frequently now.

thanks jane

electricmind -

You're welcome. And sorry that I didn't read the full thread before responding. I see now that you already mentioned exercise as a solution. Oops.

Does this project feel more urgent to you than work has in the past? Or have you always been driven?

no. this project is definitely more urgent, so i am definitely driven now. i've got pluto in the 10th conjunct MC and saturn and mars conjunct in the 10th. so i guess those are more pronounced now.

here is my chart with current transits.

Yeah, you definitely have a chart that can make it easy to lapse into workaholism.

It's hard to know how to fix this. You could try reframing how you view yourself and your life. Instead of seeing everything as needing to be done NOW (Uranus is so pushy ), you could see that you will *always* have your gifts. You have a lifetime to express them. If you slow down, you can enjoy the experience of each step. You're a complete person, not a workhorse.

Otoh, it may come down to waiting out the transits. (t.Uranus isn't alone. He's keeping t.Pluto on your Asc/square your Moon awake.)

For me, even though I knew intellectually why I couldn't sleep, that awareness didn't cure my insomnia. It took time to let go and make peace with things.

When uranus was trine my sun and mercury I DID NOT SLEEP almost never for about 1 year. I went out every day! I was too excited to ever sleep.

Uranus is square my moon and my sleep patterns are disturbed but i still get sleep just at weird times. For example I might sleep at 7 am one day and then 8pm the next night.
