I thought geminis were one of the more independent signs. But this friend I know is making me wonder, then I realized that shes not the only Gem that I know who is like that. Or could it be the Taurus influence? They seem to always want to be in a relationship. She does have a libra rising, but would it make that strong of an impact? Or could this be something else in her chart? It aggravates me that she's always with someone and half, well most of the time they are douche bags and they she doesn't even really care that much and they always cheat on her! You think this is a deeper issue?

Sure it does. Where is her Venus? What are the aspects?

Like your friend, I'm always in a relationship. One look at my chart and you would think that I shun relationships (Aqua Sun/Gem Rising/Mercury in Aquarius/Venus square Saturn and Uranus/DSC in Sag/Jupiter in 11th in Aries... etc). I have a 5th house Libra Moon. I find security in romantic relationships.

In some systems, Gemini is the sign of a couple/coupling/embrace, not twins. Also, Air is the relationship element.

I think they subconsciously do, it's just a matter of some Geminis having longer attention spans than others.

And then again, depending on where their Venus is, some of them are better able to express that need for companionship.

I've noticed myself how Venus in Taurus shows prominent in the charts of "committed" Gems. My Grandfather, a Gem, married @ 22 also had this Venus placement.

I believe that you have to look at the overall chart.

My mother has Sun in Gemini with her birthday being today, but her chart is one of the most watery.

Ascendant,Mercury,Venus,Jupiter, Uranus, and South Lunar Node in Cancer

Moon and Saturn in Scorpio

Her Sun is in 12th and trine Neptune, and so her Sun is very Pisces-like.
Her Sun sextile Pluto, and so has affinity with Scorpio. She even has Sun parallel Pluto.

With Tarot cards, Gemini = The Lovers.

I've noticed alot of people with this placement tend to marry and settle down early....even in this day and age. Not faulting them for it, since it seems to work out for them.

BM, both my sisters are Geminis, and one of them has always wanted to settle down early, so there might be something to what you say. She did marry rather young but then lost interest as soon as she did.
