I thought this would be an interesting thread! What are your angles and your Sun? To start, here are mine:

ASC - 8.31 Sagittarius
DSC - 8.31 Gemini
MC - 25.25 Virgo
IC - 25.25 Pisces
Sun - 25.43 Cancer

Are your angles true to their sign? Is the sign on your MC how you are at work and what's visible to the world? The IC how you are at home, who you are when you settle back into yourself, your inner center, your deepest self? The DSC how you approach relationships and the qualities you want in a partner? And the ASC, the basic projection of your personality, how you meet life? Or do you find that you project your Sun sign in most cases? What sign comes through the strongest? Mine are all fairly accurate as to how I am at work, at home, in relationships, except my ASC. My Sag ASC, ruled by Jupiter, has always been “tamped down” or “restricted” by my Saturn in the First house at 20.06 Sag. I do tend to project a seriousness about everything. I have a hard time being spontaneous, because I tend to think everything through, and weigh the pros and cons. I can be very cautious, and will always make the responsible decision. My sister commented that I tend to be serious about everything. I said something to my Dad about that recently and he said, “You were always like that. You were like that at 3 years old.” So you see, my Saturn in the 1st has held back a lot of my Sag/Jupiter qualities.

I will give you another example. My guy’s angles:

ASC - 5.45 Aries
DSC - 5.45 Libra
MC - 3.27 Capricorn
IC - 3.27 Cancer
Sun - 3.38 Cancer

When we are “out in the world”, I see either his Aries ASC or his Cap MC. It’s very interesting that I can tell which one he is projecting depending on the situation. But with family, I see the Libra. And when he and I are at home together, he is very much a Cancer.

So what of your personality do you project? Does it depend on the situation you find yourself in, as to the angle that shows itself, or is it colored by the planets in that house? The planet in closest aspect to an angle? Are you cognizant of which angle you are projecting, depending on the situation? Or do you project your Sun?

Aries Sun
Virgo AC/Pisces DC
Gemini MC/Sagittarius IC

With myself, I do perceive myself as having a Virgo flavor in the overall. With others, I do act a bit like Pisces, and I'm often perceived as soft and shy (at least at first).
When it comes to career interests, they do have a Gemini flavor (various interests, without specification in anything specific). And with my origin and family, it does have a Sag flavor (multiracial background, living in another country, philosophical and cultural interests, etc.).

But well, my Virgo/Gemini flavor could be coz Mercury is strong in my chart. The Pisces flavor can be due to my Neptune aspects (square to Sun, trine to Mars/AC, sextile to Pluto). And the Sag flavor could be Mars/NN in the 9th, as well as Sag Uranus trine Mercury/Moon/Venus (giving the Sag flavor to my inner planets).

I have 3 Aries planets besides my Aries Sun, so it's a bit hard to separate things. But I guess that I don't usually show my Aries side 'till I know someone better.

ASC - 2.54 Gemini
DSC - 2.54 Sagittarius
MC - 13.42 Aquarius
IC - 13.42 Leo
Sun - 5.17 Capricorn

Asc and Dsc seems true to their sign, and my chart ruler is in the sign of my DSC, so their really connected. I also have Saturn in the 1st, and it's opposite my chart ruler, so I'm not the overly chatty style of Gemini Rising.

I don't know that my work life reflects Aquarius. Possibly. I also have Uranus in the 6th in some house systems.

Am I at home with myself in Leo? Maybe. I do enjoy being creative. My hobbies all seem to be creative.

Ascendant in 13'26 Virgo
Descendant in 13'26 Pisces
Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
Midheaven in 11'14 Gemini
Imum Coeli in 11'14 Sagittarius

I can relate to my Ascendant in regards to being a perfectionist, worrying, into service but not in the way of being organized,detail-oriented,linear,and left-brained

I can relate to my Descendant in regards to sensitivity, empathy, spirituality, compassion, and sometimes lack of boundaries in regards to relationships. My Moon is in Pisces square Neptune (Moon's dispositor and Descendant's ruler) really emphasises that.

I can relate to my Midheaven in regards to communications. I worked as a Radioman in Communications Dept when I was in the navy. I also recently started a nonprofit organization to advocate for people with different ways of thinking. That involves communications.

I can relate to my Imum Coeli in regards to other cultures, philosophy, religion. I have a multiracial background. My mother is very religious. I was a Christian for a few years, but I was also heavily into mythology.

I can relate to Sun in Scorpio in regards to being emotional, sensitive, intense and involved in transformation, mysteries, and power issues. These involved my father figures that include my unknown biological father and my controlling stepfather.

Transneptunian Dwarf Planet Haumea conjuncts/opposes my Ascendant/Descendant axis and squares my Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis, and so that there is a creative, metaphysically oriented, nonconformist, evolutionary intensified nature to my Ascendant/Descendant axis and Midheaven. However, Haumea wasn't discovered until late 2004, and so there was no way of knowing that until its discovery.

Jupiter opposes/conjuncts my Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis and squares my Ascendant/Descendant axis, and so there is an expansive, optimistic, idealistic nature to my Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis and Ascendant/Midheaven axis.

Geocentric South Uranus Node oppose/conjunct my Midheaven/Imum Coeli axi, and so there is a collective independent, unconventional, innovative nature to my Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis.

Uranus trine my Midheaven, and so there is an independent, unconventional, innovative nature to my Midheaven.

Transneptunian Dwarf planet Eris sextile/trine my Midheaven/Imum Coeli, and so there is diverse,equality-oriented,controversial,discordant,evolutionary intensified, nonconformist, metaphysically oriented nature to my Midheaven/Imum Coeli

Lunar Nodes trine my Midheaven/Imum Coeli, and so my Midheaven/Imum Coeli involves emotional, instinctive contacts, connections, associations.

My Sun conjunct the transneptunian dwarf planet candidates, Ixion and Quaoar, and so there is an evolutionary intensified, metaphysically oriented nature to my Sun. My Sun is oppose/conjunct the The Transneptunian dwarf planet Eris Nodes, and so there is a diverse,equality-oriented,nonconformist,controversial,discordant,metaphysically oriented nature to my Sun.
My Sun trines Moon, and so there is an emotional, sensitive, intuitive, feminine, instinctive nature to my Sun.
My Sun quincunx Saturn, and so there is a discipline, structured, restricted, limited nature to my Sun.

Capricorn Asc.
Aries IC
Cancer DSC
Libra MC

It is a given that I'm reserved and serious in most formal or unknown situations. I'm actually very 'hidden' too? My chart ruler is in the 12th.
At home, I am pretty passionate/hotheaded, but that's only because my whole family is passionate/hotheaded (Cancer Sun absorbing the mood as always). I have an Aries Mars, but it's in the 3rd house of siblings-->>go figure.

I don't have a very Libran profession and I don't plan on going into one, even though I flirted with the idea of cosmetology school once. I'm not even sure I come across Libran in the work I do now, unless you count being courteous to patients and co-workers....until they cross me. I think my 10th house pluto and 6th house stellium says alot more here.

I'm very reluctant to show the Cancer side to other people, even though it also happens to be my sun sign. Its kind of unclear why, but I can recall that somewhere I was rebuked for being so sensitive and just covered it up from then on. The only time I cried very frequently was when saturn went over my sun.

Just some info. to help the next bunch of posters. All you have to do is list your ASC and MC because they automatically imply the opposite sign is the DC and IC

Example:

ASC Axis is Aries 15.31"
MC Axis is Capricorn 20.15"

You then automatically know that the DC is Libra 15.31 and the IC is Cancer 20.15

Doing it that way helps you to automatically remember the opposite sign and it helps you to remember that the ASC and DC is an AXIS not 2 separate points.

The same with the MC and IC. They are both circles.

That's all. Carry on good people.

ASC--12 degrees Scorpio--conjunct Saturn
DSC--12 degrees Taurus Venus in 7th house
MC--24 degrees Leo Pluto conjunct MC
IC 24 Aqua
Sun--28 degrees Gem

I think Saturn conjunct ASC has caused me to have to climb for every ounce of self esteem I get.
I am getting there finally to a stronger sense of self but it has seemed inch by inch for a long time.
Scorpio ASC is a blessing cuz it gives great perception and with Saturn there --you need all the help you can get.
I am not sure if I seem like a Scorpio. When I am confident--I probably do.

The DSC feels like it is me. Venus is in the 7th house. I love to give presents, make special meals, good cups of coffee and all sorts of things for the people whom I love.
I love to see a person's face light up when you do something that really touches them.

The IC is Aqua. I love to study all sorts or way out things
To me--relaxation is mind expansion so maybe that is Aqua.

Leo on the DC conjunct Pluto.
I think I am a strong person but I suppressed it so I would not be cast out of my family of origin.
Strength was a no no and weakness was a yes-yes LOL
Now--I have to throw off the false layers and claim who I really am which is strongly Plutonian.

I'm an Aries ASC
Libra DESC
Cap MC
Cancer IC

Exactly the same as my s/o.

I don't think I show much of the IC, don't like getting emotional in front of people.

And bc my venus, moon and merc are in my 7th house (Libra) I think I can be pretty darn romantic when I want to be.
Though it's only reserved for one person.

Dear Venus in Gem,
How do you feel Saturn in the first and Venus in the 7th play out in your life?
I can say I am finally getting my self esteem back after a very long time.
During that walk in the desert --I found God through being so broken that I had no place else to go.
I would not take finding God back even if THAT were the only way to do it and it prolly was cuz I was stubborn and proud lol.
They say that Saturn gets better with time and age and that is a relief and prolly true from my experience.
Tell me what your experiences were?

Asc is 27 Gem
MC is 4 Pis

My Sun is 19 Aqu, I think my ego is tied to that sign, but then again my Mercury, which is my asc ruler is in Aquarius, too. To people who don't know me very well, I guess I seem more like a Gemini.

I have Saturn and Uranus conjunct my dsc at 29 Sag, and I think I am attracted to guys who are very Saturnine/Uranian.

I'm not very neat and orderly at home (Virgo IC would be into tidying up stuff right?). Mercury is in my 9th, so maybe that's why I'm scattered? Maybe I'll move to a different country some day, but I can't see myself leaving America for another country forever.

I haven't started a career yet and I'm not even sure what I want to do. Neptune is in cap in my 7th, Jupiyer is in Aries in my 11th. I also have Venus in my 10th at 29 Pis. I really want to be a stylist or a buyer. My fall back is a government type job.

Asc - 02 Leo
Ic - 25 Libra
Dsc - 02 Aquarius
Mc - 25 Aries
Sun - 02 Pisces

Yes I do believe I come across as very Aries-like at work, I'm very much on-the-go and everyone comments how fast I am, direct, etc, I get very fired up there, and I bring in a lot of new energy and enthusiasm.
The Asc I see sometimes but mostly I hear it from other people of qualities that would be Leo like that I really didn't notice, for example, for the longest time I had no idea how strong my ability to focus is, until people started to tell me that they were waving and saying hi to me and I looked so busy or they sometimes thought I was completely ignoring them, that's the focus of the Fixed fire Asc. Honestly I thought they were lying to me, but I've since noticed this with other Leo Asc as well, that one track mind to get things done, very decisive.
At home, yes (!) very Libran, since after moving around etc I just want to go home and relax in a beautiful soothing atmosphere, I'm big on balance in the home decoration and will spend the longest time looking at the way the picture hangs over the table and are the chairs at a perfect angle to the table, etc...an embarrassingly long amount of time, and if I make an arrangement I like, immediately I have to photograph it, and then later I'll look at the photo and just gorge myself looking at how harmonious it is, sick right?
And with the Dsc...yes I can act Aquarian-like as I think I get easily overwhelmed with what I perceive as too much attention (Pisces Sun not too comfy with Leo Asc) so I tend to detach at the earliest possible convenience to sort of keep any other energy "mine" since I get tired of giving so much of it away (Leo/Aries). So when I'm "off" I'm really *off* and it's sooo nice to have that space and room to *breathe*. Again, I've seen this with other Aquarius Dsc people, they do the quick goodbye after they've dazzled you with this or that, and for me, it's just cos I can't be on anymore, that I just want fresh air and to get out. Leo's best friend I think is fresh air lmao.
My Sun is always there no matter what, but it's not always at the forefront of what I'm doing, I can really tell this because it's Water and none of my angles are (they're Air/Fire) so I do tend to feel like I'm moving about with all of this energy out of nowhere and then I get home and wonder where it all came from..not sure if that's the Libra or the Pisces, but home is that resting place where I don't have to act..but the second I start getting ready to go out again into the world that strong Fire energy kicks in as if it had never left and I get stuck in that train going 100mph non-stop and I couldn't get out if I wanted to, not until I get home. It gets disorienting, I literally feel like I'm on drugs the second I walk out the door.

Ami Ann,
Well, my Venus in the 7th wants to be in a relationship, wants to be with people, wants to be part of something. I have never liked being alone. I guess I feel like life is better shared. "They only feel alive, happy, satisfied or complete when they are involved in a relationship. They can most easily see their beauty and value when it is reflected back from someone else."

My Saturn in the 1st has been textbook. Low sense of worth and self-esteem. Never feeling good enough. Not seeing my own worth. Being afraid to stand up for myself. I struggled for years with that. And of course, with that being the issue, the Universe only sent me "bully's", who treated me like that...until I finally stood up and said, "I'm not letting you treat me like this anymore. I deserve to be treated better." And that was the lesson to be learned, seeing my own worth, and valuing myself.

I have The Twelve Houses by Howard Sasportas. Here are snippets from his Saturn in the 1st House chapter. They are all true for me.

"Those with Saturn in the 1st are reluctant about approaching life at all. They cautiouly venture out expecting the worst, and worried they won't meet the mark. They imagine that others are constantly judging and assessing them, when in fact it is their own criticism which gives the greatest problem.

Very often, the early life has been experienced as difficult or restricting. They may have had a childhood environment as unsafe or unsupportive of their free expression and personal creativity, as if they were squashed every time they stepped out of line. Others may have been given worries and responsibilities inappropriate to their young age."

Hi VIG,
I have an unaspected Venus in the 7th house with Taurus on the cusp.
Would you be able to give me some info on how this might manifest--in your opinion.
I know how accomplished an astrologer you are.
Thank you for any help!

I am just starting to unravel Saturn in the first.
I think the theme of my life was my mother saying to me"Who do you think YOU are?"
I feel my life has been a climb for self esteem and identity.
I feel I am climbing up a steep slope using just my finger tips and when I get a few inches up--someone/something steps on my hands and I slide down.
When I was young and striving to have a separate identity--I was pushed down again and again until I gave up.
I was told it was selfish to want or need anything.
One of the hardest things is to get these messages out from the depths with which they have buried themselves.

Ami

Ami Ann,
We must have had the same mother. I was never allowed to speak up for myself, or have an opinion. It was ingrained into my psyche that standing up for yourself, or putting yourself first was "SELFISH", and would not be tolerated. I had a professional astrologer look at my chart once. She said that my mother tried very hard to "dim my light". I'm a Sag rising. My spirit is one of my best qualities. And I spent most of my life surrounded by family and a husband that were determined to crush that spirit. How interesting that my mother and my ex-husband were both Capricorns.

It took years to heal from that. My mother's death and my divorce were a tremendous release for me...and the catalyst for me becoming whole again.
