What aspect or planetary placement / what elements in a natal chart denotes an individual who obsesses over things they love? For example: 1. When I like/love someone, I totally obsess over the person. I do all the charts: natal, synastry, composite, planets in each other's houses and go over them and over them and over them. I imagine the longterm scenario of the relationship (Yes, Taurus Sun, with Venus in Taurus). (yes I know it sounds ridiculous but it is a big step for me to admit it!!!)  2. When I love a movie, I will buy it and watch it over and over again. I totally relate to different things/characters in the movie and it is used as a great escape for me. I remember special lines and such. 3. When I find a new favorite food/meal/dish I want to have it every week. My latest is Puerto Rican food. Being a vegetarian, + having a lot of dietary restrictions, when I find a great food I love, it is a huge bonus!!! Thanks in advance for all replies   P.S. I can't post my chart b/c I'm at work. I can relate to everything you described (and I have a Taurus Venus), but I don't consider any of those things obsessions.. quote:

It seems obsessions are "unwanted".. or negative in some way..."unreasonable". I don't find any of that behaviour negative.
The first thing is just day dreaming for me.. which I enjoy doing (I'm Neptunian). I don't feel obsessed whilst day dreaming. I love the dream but I'm detached from it at the same time. I don't have "expectations" that the dream will materialize.
The second thing - again - Neptunian!! lol I love a good movie! The third thing is more Taurean, loving a particular food and having it repeatedly (this is very common with people I'd say). quote:

LOL Are you serious?
Why in the world do you find it ridiculous?
I think it's normal and common for people to imagine scenarios they would "like" with the other person (whether it's a long term scenario or a sexual scenario or whatever else).. and for people who are interested in astrology to look up the synastry etc..

 ^^LOL I'll post my own Pluto aspects, since we're at it... but honestly - I don't see these things as obsessions. Doesn't something become an obsession when it interferes with your life in a negative manner?

Thanks Dynamite, for making me feel "less obsessive". Although I didn't mean that my obsessions were negative, as the dictionary meaning connotes...........
but I still feel that they are "obsessions"......b/c I feel that I am extreme about things I like/love. Then what is a better word? LOL  IP: Logged |

oh OK - right.Well I can be extreme myself. When I love someone I love them through and through (which is probably Venus-Pluto). I'm either *in* or I'm *out*.. very intense or cold.
I've noticed that I attract people with similar Venus and Mars aspects to Pluto - because it feels *right* deep down. They share my intensity.
Does this happen to you as well? I'm quite open about my intensity though, so I wouldn't neglect to admit it, because I kind of like this about myself lol Maybe it's a way to split the wheat from the chaff for me.. because I wouldn't want to be with a guy who couldn't deal with emotional intensity. However, I've been told in the past that my off or on interest is attributed to my Aries Moon, of which I am completely aloof to anything I am not interested in, and very warm to what I am interested in. Pluto is nearly always involved when it comes to obsessional behaviour and thinking. Possibly more so with the hard aspects rather than trines and sextiles. In my own chart my sun is conjunct pluto, my mercury is conjunct pluto, my mc is quincux pluto, venus is exactly semisextile pluto and I have to say that most people in the past have described me as "obsessive". I believe that simply having mercury in scorpio(as I do)is more than enough to make someone VERY obsessive indeed. If one had their mercury trining pluto they may be obsessive but in a non destructive way...as in very involved in personal projects and being very motivated etc...rather than someones mercury square pluto and that obsession being destructive, leading to paranoia, jealousy and controlling behaviour....Same goes with synastry from what I've seen...hard pluto interaspects create that feeling of being obsessed with the other, gotta love pluto!!! When my P ASC moved into Scorpio, I became completely obsessed in relationships! You have no idea, before with Libra, I could care less about someone was up to romantically wise, but now I can't stand the thought of the one I love being even slightly interested in someone else. I agree with raspberry, my progressed venus is exactly conjunct my natal pluto and transitting pluto is exactly square my natal venus...I've made my last two boyfriends run away scared with my jealousy and paranoia. Thres has to be something plutonian going on with you at the moment...maybe post some charts?IP: Logged |
