Topic: Okay, what IS the point of a progressed chart???

just a thought, what IS the point of a progressed chart if you can do a natal with transits? please someone explain this to me!!!!!IP: Logged |

Progressed planets move a lot more slowly than transitting planets and the aspects that the progressed planets/angles make to your natal planets/angles show the major themes that are unfolding in your life at the time in question....the transits usually act as catalysts to these formed aspects...firing them up and bringing them into focus....I read a while ago that the natal chart is the promise...the progressions set the stage and the transits spark things off....it makes sense really if you test the theory out. The transits of the fast moving planets are so rapid that the effect they have is usually minnimal...but hard transits (conj/oppos/square/semi square/quincux)...from transitting saturn, uranus, neptune and pluto can bring about huge changes...depending on what they do to your natal chart.IP: Logged |

Also the progressed shows how your own natal planets move and change, so they relate directly to internal changes, which of course will be triggered / or manifest by transits.For example I have been having an exact pr Mercury-Venus-conjunction in Aquarius for the last few years; my natal very careful controlling Cappy Venus definitely has become a lot more courageous than it ever has been. Might also explain my very strong analytical side. When my pr ASC changed to Capricorn, I grew up (it coincided with my Saturn-Return, too), and my Sag-ASC with Neptune on it suddenly became a lot more focused and practical, even though I am still chaotic enough for three. lol
On of my biggest personal (spritual) "leaps" occurred, when Pr Mercury, Pr Venus and Pr Vertex were all exactly conjunct natal Moon with Tr Neptune transiting over 17 Aquarius (the degree of my natal Moon).
Interestingly that "leap" was connected to a man, whose natal SN is on 16 Aquarius. lol
