We head into the heart of eclipse season full of emotions while feeling the impetus for change, change, change. The t-square forming above our heads is very active and will become more active as we progress deeper into Summer. It wants us to take firm and clear action to change our lives and move into the next chapter.
Eclipse seasons bring to light hidden situations or helps you see your existing situations with a new set of eyes. The rose colored glasses come off. When one of the two lights goes out due to the shadow of another heavenly body passing over it, the secrets, stories and shadows are released for us to work with and understand.
So if something difficult comes to light over the next few weeks, know it is time for you to work with that energy toward healing. If something or someone clears out or leaves your life, you are ready for it or them to go. If something or someone arrives in your life, you are ready for the new chapter to begin.
And, with eclipses and the volatility of the t-square, we may have all sorts of changes with combinations of arrivals, departures and realignments.
Your job is to stay focused on what you want and desire. Talk to and about your Venus over the week. She's in Leo so she's crystal clear what your Sun and you need for your future. This week, Venus is the handle of a Hammer of Thor ~ pounding away with Jupiter/ Uranus and Pluto as the Hammer. If you need a hammer that will knock down mountains, you'll have it. If you need the slightest tap of a jeweler's hammer to make the most beautiful and delicate jewelry, you'll have it. This week, Venus asks you to focus on what your heart desires. If the situation before you doesn't match it, state what you would like to match what your heart desires.
Mercury is pretty chatty this week as he moves through 9 degrees of Cancer, from 8 to 17, joins with the Sun, dips into the South Node and gets into a tussle with Neptune and Chiron. Mercury is in water so he's hyper sensitive. Or whiny. Or he's a bit insensitive to the other person's needs if his OWN needs aren't being met. And his needs are not being met. (Remember the outlet of the t-square is stimulating those Cancer planets and causing them to feel un-nurtured and unloved. If you find yourself saying "I don't feel supported by you." Or if you hear from someone "You don't really appreciate how hard I've tried to make you happy." Those guilt inducing comments based on you or they are not getting how they or you are making them feel. Suck it up! We all need to nurture ourselves this week. And that will be more than enough for each of us to focus on. Redirect the focus instead on what you want your relationship to move towards. What is the vision of the future? Being a 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70 year old baby is very unattractive. We are all moving up on the escalator of life and being asked to become more adult.
The eclipses can make us feel under nourished or like an unhappy baby. We are screaming "I want MY mama!" ~ in the cosmic sense of a shout out! We want someone, anyone, to take care of us. We'll need to nurture ourselves this week as the world may not be able or up for taking care of us. Our Moons will be calling out for nurturing. Our Moons will be calling out for their cosmic mamas. Moon can get soothed in many ways. You will need to soothe yourself. Food, alcohol, sleep, shopping and drugs all come to mind as short term ways we can nurture and sooth ourselves. However, they are not the most productive or healthiest choices for nurturing ourselves. As we are going to be working with this t-square of stressful energy shooting out into the Cancer part of our charts, ruled by our Moon, through the end of August, we'd be better served to come up a list of other forms of nurture and soothing for our being.
Other ways to soothe yourself include meditating, breathing, letting go of the situation, or slow down and pay attention to what is triggering you to want to nurture yourself. Tell the inner voice that is yelling at you to be quiet! Focus on where you are right now without distractions.
You can also change your thoughts. Hold your pinkie finger to calm your mind and Mercury. Rub that fat part of your hand below the pinkie and above the wrist to soothe the Moon and nurture your heart needs. Daydream about a better time in your life. Mindfully worry or zone out ~ give yourself permission to delve in, make a how could I fix it list or disappear from your worries for a bit. Think back on what made you feel secure before and pull those memories up.
You can take actions or give your body sensations to calm yourself too! Back when you were little, they didn't just feed you to make you feel nurtured. Pamper yourself. Smell things that make you feel connected or take you back to earlier happier times. Walk. Run. Climb. Watch clouds. Swim. Sweat. Sleep. Soak. Dance. Clean. Massage your self. Listen to guided meditation tapes that change your mental state. Distract yourself with mental games, crossword puzzles, knitting, painting, crafting, sewing, needlepoint, playing music, banging on a drum, weeding the garden, or working on a complicated puzzle spread across the card table.
You can connect with others to nurture yourself ~ volunteer, learn reiki, take a massage class, meet up with a friend, invite folks over for a night of cards and laughter, play bridge at a club, explore art galleries or museums, hang out with kids or dogs, get yourself out of your own life and into someone else's life to help them ~ run errands for a friend who is experiencing another kind of eclipse, do a random act of kindness for a stranger, organize a friend's closet or find a task you like to do for yourself and do it for someone else.
You also want to print out last week's column where I talked about recognizing which energy you are and who the other players are in the t-square. Rebellious, fighting mood, take action, leave, depart, change things ~ Uranus and Jupiter in Aries. Authority, critical, process or rule following, fear or structure based ~Saturn in Virgo. Power based, manipulative, triangle, transformative, controlling ~ Pluto in Capricorn.
Remember you CAN switch roles and go to the other energy. Bounce around between Jupiter/Uranus, Saturn and Pluto. If you switch your responses consciously and assume the role that the planet would speak, that means the other person or people you are dealing with will switch their roles too. It is a cosmic game of musical planet chairs. Last week my column talked about how to use the t-square in productive ways. The technique applies all the way through the middle to the end of August. The combative action taking energy in the sky will only intensify between now and late August.
Monday, June 28, Moon in Aquarius is a bit detached and set apart from the world. You might find you are simply unable to connect in your usual ways as you are too tired. Moon has a union with Neptune as the closing aspect so focus on the dream..it may not come true but at least get clear on it. Sun joins with Mercury so you will think you are right even if you are not. Mercury combust to the Sun gives a very myopic view of the world ~ the mind sees entirely through the ego or Sun's point of view. It is difficult to hear other people today. It is difficult to communicate effectively today. And, if you are considered NOT family, it is hard to connect. Sensitive emotions can swamp you easily especially mid-afternoon. Tonight the energy is supportive of a great idea that can come flowing in. Give it permission to speak to you. Spend time combing the idea's hair and fussing over it to get it to trust and help you by expanding. Partnerships can end tonight as people aren't in the mood to keep waiting. Anger can flare out of no where!
Tuesday, June 29, is another detached Moon as Mars pushes all the energy to a new level of cooperation and work as he trines the nodes so expect an active night of dreaming. You will feel like you've found your family during the dreams ~ pay attention to who populates the dreams. Who is your new family now? Changes around the home are indicated so clear out spaces that don't serve you or that are full of clutter. The day is relatively quiet with no aspects especially compared to last night! It is a great day for money offers or negotiating for what you want. Venus is talking to Jupiter and entering into the Hammer of Thor. Ask gently or loudly, depending on how the Hammer wants to get it done. I say start quietly ~ you can always get louder later. Find the king you want to partner with ~ he's in the picture some place. The king has a vision and will help you get there. It also is a night when couples can fight as Juno squares Zeus ~ she normally tortures his mistresses ~ tonight she's in the mood to go after Zeus the big guy! Focus on the purpose and vision of the relationship.
Wednesday, June 30, the Moon is still in Aquarius and void for about 3 hours tonight between 6:04 PM and 9:09 PM eastern time. If the fight with your honey last night has you up all night crying you'll feel the shift and release of old energy today. The idea here is to release old behaviors. It is a RELEASING eclipse. If they keep doing the same thing over and over and over and don't want to change, then YOU need to let this go and move on with your life and your agenda. They are entitled to their drama. It is their life. They kind of LIKE their drama. Do like my friend Lynn does ~ make a washing motion with your hands and wash that energy right out of your life. Flush it down the sink. Take a cue from South Pacific and wash that man right out of your hair. Or boss. Or gal. Or job. Or sister. Or brother. Or whatever you want to release, wash it right away. Mercury is very impassioned today and feels he needs to make some kind of dramatic speech. So write your speech down on a piece of paper and read it with a cool head in a few days. Get the words OUT of you and onto paper. Don't send it. It can be a day of nasty emails or difficult news. Mercury joins with Juno and the nodes so it is a day when Mercury will let people "IN" on difficult secrets or disturbing news. Venus finishes her Hammer of Thor energy and starts to separate from him and move forward toward her dream.
Thursday we enter July. How did it get to be July already? Boy this year went by fast! Mercury connects with Mars to help move information, offers, proposals and new opportunities forward. Expect to hear yes today. Or yes with a bit of work! It will mean you can move forward towards the next chapter. A green light! Don't go getting all lost in the dream just yet ~ there is plenty more work ahead of you so focus on the vision and start doing the work. Venus will make you appreciate you are not young any more today.
Friday, July 2, has a cleanliness is next to godliness aspect ~ you need to clean something out today! Maybe it is you with a juice fast. Maybe it is the refrigerator with a bad, bad smell. Perhaps it is a moldy set of cushions from the basement. Be careful to wash your hands and your stuff today ~ infection prevention is a good thing. A luminous bright idea is born today. It also is a terrific day to find out that you are pregnant or giving birth to a cherished project as the Goddess of the Moon, Selene, who had over 50 children, is activated in an expanding and abundant way. Because of previous bad news, you may not tell folks your news right away ~ preferring to wait until you are absolutely sure. But start making plans for the new nest or project. And do a little happy dance where no one can see you!
Saturn's day, July 3, has a sense of fate about it as Moon in Aries triggers both Uranus and Jupiter and sets off the t-square. Firm new beginnings take place today. There is a bit of anxiety upon awakening and moving out into the world. Be brave. It is only Uranus that is frazzling your nerves. Venus aspects the Goddess of Discord, Eris, in a positive manner ~ so while the Goddess is bemused and in a good mood, it is a great time to move forward with plans of love, money, attraction and fun. Venus activates Sedna the Goddess of the Sea and asks her to bless unions and meetings performed today. Moon in Aries has lovely closing aspects for a positive outcome with its sextile to Neptune. Sun squares Zeus and dives into the South Node making for karmic connections with the heavens. Pay attention to whom you meet today ~ they will be important for your future. Uranus slows to a stop, planning for his station on Monday. So watch the Aquarian planets and the natal nodes in your chart for extra information. They will be vibrating with the Uranus station on the world axis. Expect explosions and fireworks too!

A quiet day of connections and family, chosen and regular, Uranus wants us to live in the moment and be real as he stops in the sky. His station is making the t-square vibrate too. Make sure to tell the people that you love that you love them. Spend time on the people and things you love today.

McChrystal's Mars in Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter in Cancer within shouting distance of Uranus in Cancer was stimulated by Uranus and Jupiter traveling together into revealing conversations while grounded by the volcano and drinking in Paris.
