The North and South Node of the Moon Revisited
A while ago I wrote extensively about the Moon's Nodes, and their importance in our understanding of our line of greatest evolutionary development, as well as our line of least resistance. As a result of recent requests, today we take a new look at the Moon's Nodes, what they mean, and how they work.
The Nodes of the Moon have their own cyclic process, and play an important part in the formation of Eclipses as well as how we grow and what we let go of. They also show us via the conjunctions of the transits where our growth is pointed, and the transiting Nodes conjunct our planets show us when we build, and when we demonstrate what we've learned to our world.
Of course, since they are crucial in creating Eclipses, that's another whole influence apart from their transits to our planets, or transiting planets making aspects to the transiting Nodes or our natal Nodes. Regarding Eclipses, they only happen when there is a New or Full Moon conjunct the Moon's Nodal axis. In other words, if the Sun and/or the Moon conjunct one or both Moon's Nodes, it forms an Eclipse.
When there is a New Moon conjunct either the North or South Node, it is a Solar Eclipse. When there is a Full Moon conjunct the Nodes, it's called a Lunar Eclipse. I've written extensively on how Eclipses work in prior articles, so enjoy exploring the archives if you want to know more.
According to traditional lore, the Moon's Nodes are primarily active when the Moon makes an aspect to either of them, or the transiting Nodes make an aspect to our natal or progressed Moon. However, I have found that they work on their own level as an independent "tendency" toward growth and release, movement into and out of old patterns.
The sign our North Node is in shows how we grow, whether we want to or not. The South Node is where we "show what we know," as well as our line of least resistance. The North Node is a magnetic pull into where we can best development, while the South Node shows what we've already have down pat.
I wrote extensively on the Nodes and how they work a while ago. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I figured I'd give you a "one stop shop" where you can study more about this Axis that aren't planets, signs, or houses, but affect all of them nonetheless.
