I'm having trouble wrapping my head around these...anyone have experience they can share? Example, a trine between an early Scorpio placement and late Aquarius. Just don't see what they could like about each other/how it would work!

To be honest I count aspects more than signs because of the whole sidereal vs tropical sign placements. We only use tropical because Ptolemy said that HE himself has never observed Aries Point to move (it moves extremely slowly). Later people took it to mean that it never moved at all and that's why there's a difference between signs in western vs vedic astrology. It really makes you question the validity of signs in Western astrology.

Not to say that I completely rule out signs but for me aspects take precedence.

But don't you still need to consider the signs to understand the quality of the way planets are operating and where they are coming from?
