I do agree to some point a balance between feminine and masculine planets in a synastry chart may help toewards compatibility but I don't think this works for predicting the sex of a child.

Has it worked for you?

it sounded like masculine is Cardnal
feminine is Fixed and
half and half is Mutable

I think it is absolutely important to have masculine-feminine attraction aspects in a synastry chart, but I am not sure it would work to predict the gender of a child.

My friend has 4 boys and all her planets are feminine. She was the first person I looked at.

see?
It doesn`t work.

My mum has Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars and ASC all in feminine signs; she has one girl (me) and two boys.

But it certainly is interesting to consider the balance in synastry charts. I have often found them to be complementary, but I only consider Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars and ASC.

I know MOST people have 2/3 - like masculine, masculine, feminine, or feminine, feminine, masculine as far as their sun/moon/asc combos go.
I've met some really interesting people with all feminine and/or all masculine combos.
For instance, a friend of mine who is all masculine (Leo sun, Aqua moon, Libra rising) married a guy with all feminine (Cancer sun, Pisces rising, Scorpio moon) and then divorced him and was with a guy for 15 years who was all feminine too (Virgo sun, Cappy moon and asc!)

Another friend of mine who was all masculine was bestest friends with a guy who had all feminine on his main 3, but they had a falling out and now can't stand each other.

So I will say that I've noticed it as more pronounced in some cases...but I don't know the deal with kids or child sex prediction. For synastry it's probably just very interesting to see how it works out and the kind of people one gets along with.

4 of my 5 personal placements are in masculine signs (Sagittarius and Aquarius - even though Iw ould consider these more intellectual / mental than really masculine).
I had a really big crush on a (gay) man, who has 4 personal placements in feminine signs and one in masculine.

(for him his Sun is in masculine, for my my Venus is - even though is Capricorn really a feminine sign?)

Lara you have lots of Aries which is masculine too but still it doesn't match up that way with everyone. I have more masculine planets too.

I once read that the Moonsign of the exact conception date will determine if you are going to have a boy or a girl.
But I really have not tested this theory.

Apparently I'm a pleasure person--->> 9 Feminine, 5 Masculine. I don't agree with the description for me though. I think when you consider the modes, this masculine/feminine thing doesn't really apply to alot of signs.

BM,

I agree.
There is definitely a difference if your masculine planets are Aries and Leo as opposed to Sagittarius and Aquarius for example.

Personally I found the exchange / interchange of complementary aspects in natal and synastry much more compelling than pure signplacements. Something like Mars conjunct Jupiter in one chart and Venus conjunct Jupiter in the other one.

I mean, in terms of signs, half are feminine, half are masculine. Capricorn and Cancer are feminine cardinal signs...

My mother's fifth house is in Cancer, her Moon is in Aquarius. Jupiter and Uranus are in her 5th. I am an Aqua sun with Saturn and Uranus in Sag. I am not a male, but most of my planets are in masculine signs.

Lara, Are your boy's Sun signs in feminine signs?
Have your girl in a masculine Sun sign.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Some signs are just naturally more laid back than others and that has alot more to do with the quality than the gender. Cancer and Capricorn are both Feminine, but their Cardinal energy makes THEM leaders, totally negating the whole 'we need to follow' theory that the article spins. Why else do most Cardinal signs not get along with eachother? That's because we can never agree on which direction to go in, or who should be the leader.

Okay, minnie rant over.

And as for predicting the sex of children, apparently the sign and/or planets in the 5th house is a good indicator. According to that though....I'm most likely to have girls. *facepalm* (unless Jupiter wins out over my Venus and Taurus. Pretty please! ).

Hi Lara,
Your middle and youngest son are born with Feminine (earth and water) Sun signs
Was your oldest supposed to be a Scorpio or Capricorn?

Have your baby girl with a Fire or Air Sun sign.

You have an Aries Moon right?, this is actually a shortcut but a woman conceives when there is the exact same distance between the current Sun and Moon as in her Natal Chart. In other words if you are a New Moon birth, Sun/Moon conjunct then your fertile period is during a New Moon.
Then you look to see what sign the Moon was in during conception Masculine or Feminine and there is the sex of your child.

Masculine Moons (in a mothers chart) will usually show that her children born under a Masculine Sun sign will be girls
Boys will be born under Feminine Sun signs.

The reverse is true for Feminine Moons.

because we took a shortcut and Astrology is based on exact numbers, there will be exceptions to this rule, but not very many.

My mum has moon in Aries and I'm her first born and my sun is in cancer (feminine) and my moon sign is Gemini (masculine).

My brother has moon in Gemini also but is born with sun in Aquarius.

My momma's the exception to this rule...sort of. She has an Aquarian Moon and both her daughters are Water Suns, though her son is a Capricorn. =D

Thank you Lala, that is so interesting. My eldest was 10 days early and due date was supposed to be mid December which is still sagittarius.

Yes i have an aries moon and i was born one day before the new moon.

All my kids were conceived just before the new moon! Amazing, thank you!

Hmm, intersting theory, Lalinda.

though I have to say it does not work for my mother.
she has a feminine Moon.

Both my brothers have feminine Sun-signs, and I have a masculine Sun-sign (shouldn`t it be the other way round according to this theory? ).

My best friend has a masculine Moon.
Her Son has a masculine Sunsign. Her daughter has a feminine Sunsign.
