Hello,

I have a question regarding synastry.

I see you use the conjunction, opposition, square, semisquare, sesisquare and quindecile in Solar Arcs, while ignoring the sextile and trine, which makes sense to me, that only hard aspects trigger event.

Anyway, how do you see this in synastry?
Would you say that it is also the hard aspect that provide the most drive and energy to trigger an attraction?
And that it depends on the nature of the planets, if that is considered "positive" or "challenging"?
Like for example Mars square Saturn would probably indicate a more challenging exchange, maybe a blocking of (sexual) energies (true to SAturn`s and Martian symbolism), but Sun sesisquare Venus could actually have positive meaning in that it triggers an affection between two people?
Or do you consider the sesisquare between Suna nd Venus being "very difficult", too?

HOw much emphasis would you place on trines and sextiles in this system?

I am really curious about this, cause I have been wondering about this a long time, frequently switching between the two point of views.

Hi DD,

No, I wouldn't. Synastry and Solar Arcs are two different subjects like baking and scuba diving. They don't mix.

Also, I don't use Sesquiquadrates in Synastry unless I'm desperate. Meaning, if I'm very attracted to someone and the longevity aspects are not there, I'll try to find anything possible to push the universe to give me a sign that we are meant to be together. A lot of people do that and end up disappointed.

Now, if you have a couple who is together and issues pop up, the semi-squares and Sesquiquadrates might be playing some kind of role, but the Ptolemaic aspects are going to rule the day, the minor aspects won't cause much trouble unless the Big Kahuna aspects have already been triggered.

Thank you.

That is how I have handled it so far, too.
