How the Full Moon Affects You
By Martin Schulman

Every month there is a two and a half day period when the moon is in the exact opposite zodiac sign as the sun. During this time, it appears full in the sky, in its most vivid brightness. This time when the sun and moon are in opposition to each other holds interesting consequences and opportunities. For one thing, it has long been known that more people punch each other during the full moon than at other times. There have been mythological stories of ghosts, werewolves, and vampires all associated with the full moon.

For the most part the sun -moon opposition seems to bring conflicts in people to a head, where they must in some way be dealt with. In a sense, its a matter of degree. For the normal minded person, the full moon makes them more aware of problems that have to be solved. Stress levels though increased at this time, are nevertheless manageable.

However, for individuals with neurotic compulsions, this opposition pushes things beyond the comfort zones of most individuals. What seemed tolerable, no longer is. What could be ignored, seems overwhelming.

(hm....)

While most of us will not turn into werewolves, there is a strong propensity for abnormal behavior during the full moon. Some people go off their diets. Others take on too much.

Yet what is overlooked the most during this time is the opportunity the full moon gives to get a completely objective look at oneself. All subjective consciousness is balanced by the exact opposite view of oneself through the full moon opposition. Thus, for those of us who are willing to confront ourselves, this time every month can be one of great realizations about ourselves from a more objective viewpoint that can lead to much spiritual growth.

There is a saying- "We may not always get what we want, but somehow we always get what we need."

The full moon gives us this, as it balances our subjective desires, so that instead of only feeling what we want, we also get a chance to feel what we need.

While for some this causes the frustration often associated with the full moon, it really is a tremendous opportunity to overcome our childish tendencies to be selfish, and realize there is more to us and our lives that can be explored.

It's almost Full Moon.

As long as I can remember...

Last month at that time I went with my Pisces to a hotel where we should stay the night. To make a long story short: It became one BIG EMOTIONAL DRAMA and finally I HAD to go (in a passive way - by calling the taxi in a fit of temper/too expensive, searching for train times/too late etc. - I forced him to drive be back home)

He was angry in his pisces way ("I will go but then it's OVER between us" on which the neurotic clown in me reacted; "OVER? .."

Well, this is just ONE example of an extremely emotional event during the Full Moon period.

Now I wonder, are there more neurotics over/up here during this time?

.. in spite of the signs it takes place in and the other aspects it makes.
I still haven't noticed the more or less influence.

My remedy for the first time; choose for and stay absolutely true to yourself!
(Practically this means: while knowing it hurts you so much, while knowing you need me so much, I *refuse* to see you this weekend)

I have no choice and for the first time, this feels okay. Instead of fights out of guilt, instead of fights for understanding, instead of fear of loosing you...

I just Save Us.

I really go inward on full moons..
At first the full moons overwhelmed me with lack of sleep. It's like being fed high doses of coffee through an IV .
For about 4 nights around each full moon I would be Wide awake and energized, pumped up and ready to tackle any project..even at 3 in the morning. :/ "Hey I think I'll re-arrange the entire house like I've been wanting to." I didn't know how else to channel it so I did physical things to burn off all the excess pressure.
Now I've learned to channel the full moon energy into my daily projects so I won't drive myself and those around me insane..

Much Love~
