Anyone here with this placing?
I personally have Neptune in the 8th together with Saturn and Uranus. Jupiter is my 8th house ruler.

Anyway back to the subject of Neptune in the 8th I am interested to hear personal interpretations.

Many accounts I've read point to a dark and troubled subconscious and a rich dream life. Sexual repression in childhood seems to be a recurring them also. As a child I suffered vivid nightmares full of complex characters on a nightly basis. This did not resolve until age 13.

In the last few years I've had a handful of lucids and encountered bright orb-like spirits on a few occasions. I've also seen demons and have died and self-resurrected in my dream life more than once.

Other accounts are of a more mundane nature especially with respect to finances. Any thoughts?

Also, any notables with this placing?

Cheers

I too have Neptune, Saturn and Uranus in the 8th house, all in Capricorn, however my 8th house cusp is Sagittarius.

I always had very vivid dreams and had a wild imagination as a child (and still do. lol.)
I always have been interested in "8th house themes" death, sex, rebirth, life, occult, etc.
I'm just a very deep thinker. I like to dig, so to speak, and find the secrets about life and people. I never look at the surfaces of things.

*Edit:
I also heard it can make a person almost psychic. I always thought I could read people's emotions and get a feel of who they truly are. But than again Neptune can be deceiving.. But I'm sure it depends on the aspects.

I'll look more into this placement. I have always wondered about it and now you got me curious. haha.

I love the subject of 8th house planets. I have Sun, moon and Mercury in the 8th house.
This is one of the most interesting things I learned about 8th house planets.
They are in a kind of slumber like Sleeping Beauty lol until something in life wakes them up--hopefully.
They stay dormant and unexpressed for a long time--a delayed maturity or individuation
A person with 8th house planets has a hard time knowing who they are : feeling a defined sense of self.

Ami
PS My book had an example of Princess Diana with Mars in the 8th. She had little sense of her own drive and power until later in life and until life situations forced her to claim it.

PPS I have Neptune in the 12 and have had Out of Body experiences. Also, I am psychic.

I have experienced all those things, but I don't have Neptune in 8th. My Neptune is in 3rd house and squares my Moon in Pisces in 6th. That configuration alone could indicate those experiences.

I have no planets in 8th. Until 2004, I thought that I only had retrograde Chiron in Aries in my 8th. Chiron is one of over 60 centaurs in our solar system.

Transneptunian dwarf planet candidate Sedna was discovered in 2004, and I found out that mine is retrograde in Taurus in my 8th house sextile my Moon.
From all the stuff that I read about Sedna and its connected to the Arctic Ocean in Inuit Mythology, it's very similar to Neptune. With it's orbital period of over 11,000 years and greatest distance of over 900 astronomical units from our Sun, Sedna makes Neptune look mundane.

In 2005, Eris was discovered. I found that it was retrograde in Aries my 8th house, conjunct my retrograde Chiron sextile/trine my Midheaven/Imum Coeli. Eris is even larger than Pluto. Both are transneptunian dwarf planet/Plutoids. If Pluto has powerful influence in houses, then obviously Eris is just as powerful in houses. I am not too crazy about having retrograde dwarf planet of diversity, equality, discord, controversy in Aries in 8th house.

My 12th house contains 2 of Pluto's fellow transneptunian dwarf planet/Plutoid's. Makemake is in Leo in my 12th square my Mercury in Scorpio in 3rd. Haumea is in Virgo in my 12th conjunct/oppose my Ascendant/Descendant axis in Virgo/Pisces and square my Midheaven/Imum Coeli in Gemini/Sagittarius axis.

Moon is also associated with dreams and anything that has to do with the unconscious. My Moon trines Sun-Ixion-Quaoar conjunction (both Ixion and Quaoar are transneptunian dwarf planet candidate),square Varuna (a transneptunian dwarf planet candidate named after Indian God of the Oceans), and sextile Sedna. In Right Ascension (Equatorial Longitude), my Moon semisquare Eris. So Moon is connected to 5 of Plutos' fellow big transneptunian objects.

I wouldn't be surprised if almost everybody in this forum had many of the same experiences with most not having Neptune in the 8th house.

"A person with 8th house planets has a hard time knowing who they are : feeling a defined sense of self."

That seems like 12th house, Neptune stuff, and even transneptunian stuff.

I can totally relate to a strong history of not knowing who I am,lacking a feeling of defined sense of self. That can be connected to my neurodivergence/special education years, my multiracial background, and growing up without my biological father in my life.

All those are connected to each other. My father was a neurodivergent African American man who had drug problems. From what my mom told me, He didn't have a feeling of a defined sense of self either. He had a stationary retrograde Neptune that disposited his Moon in Pisces which is same moon sign as me.

I think that my father experiences
are my Sun-Ixion-Quaoar conjunction. My Moon trines that and I feel that reflects my mother that has those things in common with my father. She has Sun in 12th trine Neptune. Both even had watersign Moons. My mother has Moon in Scorpio. I also have Sun oppose Sedna in Right Ascension, and my Moon sextiles Sedna(also in regular chart). I also have Sun quincunx Varuna in Right Ascension, and my Moon squares Varuna (also in regular chart too).
My Sun is oppose/conjunct the Geocentric North and South Eris Nodes. I have Sun contraparallel transneptunian dwarf planet candidate Orcus. My Sun is connected to 5 transneptunian objects, and everyone of them are involved in hard aspects. This indicates the otherworldliness, hidden, and "beyond the reach",remote aspects of my biological father which is connected to my ego, self expression, vitality, and overall manhood.

My mother never knew her biological mother either, and I am very sure that has effected her emotional nature, feelings, nurturing and overall womanhood. That really influenced how she raised me. Not knowing my biological grandmother nor her relatives could also factor into my not knowing myself just like not knowing my biological father nor his relatives greatly factor into it. The latter is even more significant because of not knowing my African American family roots which are so evident in me and define me in society as African American even though my roots is much more than that. I am very similar to Barack Obama in that way.
My stepfather had the same birthday - August 4th as Barack Obama, and he barely knew his father either. August 4th is when Sun conjunct/oppose the Neptune Nodes.

Understanding myself helped me to understand my biological father and vice versa. A matter of fact, I learned about neurodivergence after I found my father in California Social Security Death Record index
online on New Years Eve 2002 going into 2003. That was the beginning of the end of knowing myself completely and having a defined sense of self.

I have Neptune RX in the 8th in Scorpio..

I also had really bad dreams as a child.. The theme was always the same, some one trying to kill me... This lasted for me until the age of 27/28 When I got married..

After I married the dreams stopped.. I have gone over 5 years w/o remembering dreams.. I just recently had 2 nightmares that I remembered with in the last 6 months.. The theme changed to disasters.... War...Fire... I had military... fire depts etc...

Hmmm, my boyfriend has 8h Neptune - Sagg. His dreaming is extremely active! He talks, yells, motions (moves hands/arms about) and the majority of his dreams are troublesome where he is either fighting or arguing with others, especially his family.

21, I have an afflicted neptune in the 8th square venus(my strongest planet) and jupiter, both in the 5th. I'm a talented astral projectionist, I can do this on will alone when I go to bed. Horrible nightmares started very young, mostly of wolves who spoke to me telepathically, and apocolyptic type scenarios, ect. ect. I was terrified to sleep by myself my whole life. This fear continues even now at times at 29. I feel spirits all around me and watching me at times, it can be very unsetttling. I have powerful past life recall and my past lives affect me greatly in this one. With neptune in the 8th you are an extreme Sensitive! My neptune in 8th may be worse than others, because of the square to jupiter which literally enlarges matters. I have several good books just on the 8th house. Will get back to those soon!

Neptune in the 8th also leads to a lot of seductive/magnetic power especially if it touches planets like the sun, moon, venus, mars. I kn ow this is not the best example, but Hitler had neptune conj pluto in the 8th and he seduced and hypnotized an entire nation of people. It makes you very psychic. Good book - Gate of rebirth by Haydn Paul. Also Glaucus you may not have 8th house activity, but you are strongly scorpio/piscean if I remember correctly, that would probably explain some of your sensitive, psychic abilities and deep understanding.

Sun,Jupiter,Uranus,Neptune, Vertex,South Node in eighth house.

Neptune in 8th roughly means one who wants transformation, transitionary experiences through getting in touch with the unseen(ghosts, demons, god or"isness")

8th house relates to beholding another part of yourself.Another dimesion of living etc.

When planets are concentrated in the 8th house, one seeks to make sense of the intricancies and "unexplained" phenomena of life so that "reality" is understood and the mind can evolve past imposed limitations of what is "life" and what is "death".

One could want to get into contact with so called "Aliens",demons and creatures from other dimensions/realms. There is even wanting to connect and see god.

" I kn ow this is not the best example, but Hitler had neptune conj pluto in the 8th and he seduced and hypnotized an entire nation of people. It makes you very psychic. Good book - Gate of rebirth by Haydn Paul. "

Adolf Hitler also had strong transneptunian influence. He had Sun conjunct the transneptunian dwarf planet Makemake less than 1 1/2 degrees. Makemake wasn't discovered until 2005. His Sun was also square the Haumea Nodes. Haumea is a transneptunian dwarf planet. He was strongly connected to collective Haumea energy. He also had Moon,Saturn,Neptune,Eris in 5th harmonic configuration which is a strong emphasis on creativity. He had a strong Eris and Sedna influence. Eris is a transneptunian dwarf planet like Pluto. Sedna is a transneptunian dwarf planet candidate.

"Also Glaucus you may not have 8th house activity, but you are strongly scorpio/piscean if I remember correctly, that would probably explain some of your sensitive, psychic abilities and deep understanding."

BUT

I already pointed out that I have 2 of Pluto's fellow big transneptunian objects in my 8th house.

I have Eris in 8th house. Eris is one of Pluto's fellow transneptunian dwarf planets. Eris is an object that is larger than Pluto, and that's what led to Pluto's demotion to dwarf planet. If Pluto in 8th is a strong 8th house influence, then obviously Eris in 8th is also a strong 8th house influence. It's just that Eris wasn't discovered until 2005. I also pointed out that I have Sedna in 8th house. Sedna has the greatest average distance of the objects in our solar system. Sedna makes Neptune look mundane just like Eris makes Uranus look normal.

also...those 8th house big transenptunian objects are aspected by other big transneptunian objects.

Sedna in 8th oppose Quaoar in 2nd
Eris in 8th trine Makemake in 12th and quincunx Haumea in 12th (it's conjunct my Ascendant..so Haumea Rising)

My Sun,Mercury,Venus in Scorpio and my Moon in Pisces are aspected by Pluto's fellow big transneptunian objects.
That's the dwarf planets (Eris,Pluto,Makemake,Haumea)
dwarf planet candidates
(Sedna,Orcus,Quaoar,Varuna,Ixion)

In regards to my Sun:
Sun conjunct Ixion and Quaoar. I also have Sun oppose Sedna and quincunx Varuna in Right Ascension. Sun contraparallel Orcus in declinations. Sun also conjunct Geocentric South Eris Node and oppose Geocentric North Eris Node, and so I am very connected to collective Eris energy.

in regards to my Mercury:
Mercury in Scorpio square Makemake and biquintile Eris. I also have Mercury sextile Geocentric South Pluto Node, and so I am connected to collective Pluto matters.

in regards to my Venus:
Venus in Scorpio trine Orcus. Venus sextile Haumea and quincunx Eris in Right Ascension. Venus also trine the Geocentric North Pluto Node, and so another connection to collective Pluto matters.

in regards to my Moon:
Moon in Pisces is also aspected by Pluto's fellow transneptunian objects including trine Ixion-Quaoar conjunction, square Varuna, and sextile Sedna. I also have Moon semisquare Eris in Right Ascension.

I am very strong in the 21st century objects. Looking at me through a 20th century system completely misses out on the big picture of who I am. It makes sense that my learning about my neurodivergence, the quest to get it recognized and life purpose occurred only after the 21st Century objects were discovered. It makes sense that I am very interested in 21st Century Astrology because I believe in progressing with the discoveries of Astronomers. Obviously Astrologers have already done that when they included Uranus,Neptune, and Pluto in their astrological systems. After all, those were modern astronomical discoveries. Those weren't planets used by ancient and medieval astrologers because they weren't discovered yet.

I also don't really put much emphasis on zodiac sign nor house placements which are relative to what zodiac and house system is used. Heck..My Mercury in Scorpio is in alignment with the Beta Libra star,Zuben Elschamali which means my Mercury is strongly connected to Libra constellation. My Moon is actually in alignment with Alpha Aquarius star, Sadalmelik which means my Moon is strongly connected to Aquarius constellation. I put more emphasis on aspects that also include Ecliptic Longitude (regular chart), Right Ascension, and Declination for a Multi-dimensional view. Most of the planets tend to orbit on the Ecliptic, and so I don't use Ecliptic Latitude.

Could I contact you, please? I would love to learn how to astral project at will.
It would be great for the dentist
I can do it from dreams and in the middle of the night but not at all.

Could you guys take a look at my chart that I just posted in beginners? I can't believe I didn't look at this before. You guys are all describing something that I have really struggled with.

I am mostly interested because I am trying to see if there are any other indications in my chart that can offset these crazy intense neptunian influences in my emotional life. 8th house neptune squaring moon/venus/mars in pisces 11th house. All of my closest friends are all musicians or actors. I just finally worked up the confidence to put out my poetry and it got published and I walked away from acting because I was sooo scared of losing reality.

But I refuse to drink or take any intoxicants now and I have harnessed my ridiculous sexuality. I feel like I have more power over myself... but I was just wondering if my chart says anything about talents I might have that could help me achieve my aims.

Thanks! Cool post!

I agree with you in that last part! I have neptune in the 8th house in Sagittarius. When I was a child I sometimes couldn't tell the difference between reality or if I dreamt it or not. I dreamt (or maybe it was real - I still don't know!) that a boy in my class grabbed my cheek and pinched it hard while another girl watched and he made my cheek bleed. I remember then looking at my face to see if it had been real or not and saw a small scar but I know if it had happened then teachers would have intervened.

As an adult there was a married college professor that had a crush on me ( he was very friendly, offered extra credit when I asked him to but instead of giving it just to me he gave it to everyone so not to seem unprofessional, stared at my back and breasts all the time) so after finishing his class and taking a nap I had a very vivid lucid dream where I woke up from my bed and saw him standing next to me and he was nude from the waist up! other times I had very vivid nightmares and after losing my beloved dog/best friend I had a vivid dream of him where i woke up and saw him! This was after thinking of him repeatedly everyday and missing him everyday and crying for him everyday so I do wonder if Neptune in the 8th actually can communicate with other realms.

Oh that is most fascinating.

As a Sun/Neptune conjunct in 8th,I must say that my experiences have not been that hectic.

But Neptune/12th house/ Pisces is all about warping in/out of the time-space reality.

I have 12th house pisces and neptune in my 8th house! Do you believe that the vivid dreams I had were because I wished or transported myself to another realm in my dreams? My dream with my dog who passed away was so vivid that I *know* that he was there with me and I actually "felt" him near me and my family for the past 2 years.

You should develop that instinct. Imagine where you would go... and the encounters you would have? WOW!!!

I would find a way to write a book.
