I'm sorry you lost your cat, Jane. I spent the night before Teddy died, cuddling him, before I finally had to get some sleep. He seemed to be improving, when he was out on the deck with my mother and my aunt, before letting out what sounded like a couple of sneezes, and leaving us. Dennis was the same way when he was younger. (he still can be - I once dropped him off the desk, when he laid across my arm, and then growled whenever I tried to move the mouse for the computer... then he bit me. That was six years ago. He stalked off, and about half an hour later, I asked if I was forgiven - his response was a casual, "Mrow." He has varying tones and sounds as though he's really communicating - he understands. ) I didn't want a kitten at first, either - I would usually have been up for it, but we'd just lost our little dog (suddenly - he was hit by a car), and I didn't appreciate our neighbour trying to pawn one off on us so soon. Less than a month later, I remember going out to the deck one night, and looking up the kitten playing on the deck - he made me laugh, and that night, I asked my mother if we could have him. He used to sit on top of the wardrobe and lash out... his first few nights with us, I was afraid I'd made a mistake. Then, the night before we had a family friend fly in, as my sister and I have pushed our beds together for my parents (so that the friend could have their room for the week), I sat on the floor, next to the lamp, reading (so as not to disturb my sister), and Dennis crawled into my lap, revelling in my long hair, purring away... that was the turnaround for us. I woke up the next morning, and couldn't move, because he was lying on my hair that had spread over the pillow. IP: Logged |

Now I'm going to find him and give him a cuddle. As long as he isn't feeling pi$$y, anyhow... my big, occasionally obnoxious snugglebaby. He loves someone rubbing his ears, and likes to be up close to your face.. he scares people, though, so he doesn't often get that pleasure. (Oh, and re: Gemini Moons. I can be that way when I haven't let go of an upset. ) IP: Logged |

Oh - I can't remember the exact birthtime of my youngest cats - Minnie and Teasel - but I know that they were born on June 4th, 1995, because I was there. Elsie was too young to be a mother, and it never should have happened, but she was tiny, and she squeezed out of a window when she was in heat. The night she gave birth, she walked into the kitchen, and let out a loud yowl - I scooped her up, took her into the back room, put her in a large cat carrier, grabbed my sister and panicked. Elsie purred all the way through the delivery, curling her paw around my finger as though everything was wonderful - except for when she pushed. Teasel flew out of her, hitting the side of the crate, scaring the crap out of us. She was fine, thank goodness. A while later, Minnie just slipped out, and that also had us worried (she wasn't moving). They are both very loving little cats. Teasel is the only cat to not disappear when we have visitors - she stays put, observes everything, and accepts attention from whomever offers it. She loves to fall asleep on a person - just last month, after losing Teddy, she slept on my back as I fell asleep. She loves cuddles, and isn't that active. Minnie is more active, more flighty in the Gemini way - sweet and loving, and surprising when she stays in your arms for longer than thirty seconds, or when you find her in an armchair, or the corner of your bed. She usually keeps to the basement, as though it's her own little apartment, coming out to see and love on whoever's at the computer downstairs, or to flit around you for attention, before taking off for the garden. You'll know where she is, even if she's hidden away, because she will purr as soon as she hears you - a purr so loud and happy, that it makes me smile just thinking about it. They're adorable in different ways. She will say hello to visitors, but not in the living room - she'll flit over in the hallway or on the deck. Pictures to come... (and you don't want me to get started on the dogs. ) Elsie came to us with Teddy and another kitten (wesley) in 1994, along with their mother, who we named Chloe (she died in 1999). IP: Logged |

Dennis, five/six years ago: Creeping people out since 1993... He's such a lovebug, when he wants to be. Teddy, most likely a Leo: One of the first pictures I took, seven years ago, with my camera: I miss my baby. (oops, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to take up so much space...) IP: Logged |

teasel -Growing up I also had a cat named Teddy! He was an angel. So sweet. Pisces Sun, Aqua Moon. Did Teddy die recently? *edit* Just saw it happened last month. I'm so sorry. Was Teddy the 17 year old? quote: He used to sit on top of the wardrobe and lash out
Terrifying! When she was a kitten, my little terrorist liked to attack me after a shower. As soon as I'd leave the bathroom, she'd wrap around my bare ankle and start humping her claws into my flesh. Good times.

Aww, I'm loving all these pictures! I'm considering posting some of my cats. I don't think I have any saved on this computer of my girl, but I may have some of my boy.teasel - My cat also had kittens. Witnessing that when I was 13 was an effective form of birth control. IP: Logged |

Here is my doggie when he was still little. We got him overseas. When I saw him I just couldn't let go. I love him with all my heart - Every time I look at him I feel like "all is well in the world" He is soooooooooooooooo awesome and intelligent. Absolutely everyone loves him. I have to drag him away from my friends so they don't steal him lol Here is his chart - and our synastry: What do you think? I like the conjunctions we have.. in particular his Mercury conjunct my Moon - It makes for easy communication, like me barking and him replying heheh You guys would laugh your heads off if you heard me barking - seriously! I know, right! I was thinking, now that's one sadistic psychic. Really though, I liked the chance to talk about her. She had a good, long life and an ideal death. Those factors help considerably. If you're like my Taurus Venus boy, you have crazy good cuddle skills. And you would sell your soul for a slice of ham. Btw, I'm really digging your poochy. IP: Logged | |
