Hey Knowflakes,

Does anyone have any insights to people with personal planets in 12th house (including the sun) and a Leo rising?

Would 12th house planets affect their physical appearance and outward demeanor? If so, how?

**edit**

This person's 12th house planets are in Cancer.

some info on Sun in the 12th

quote:
As mentioned in last month's article, planets in the 12th House usually take on a repressed or suppressed expression. When the Sun, our symbol of personal ego is sequestered in the low-key 12th House things can get very interesting.

The behind-the-scenes feel of the 12th predictably modifies the Sun's normal intensity and desire for recognition. It seems that often the native is content to do his work without the necessity of always being in the direct spotlight of attention. This is not to say that the attention need is diminished, rather that it is somehow more content to be a step or two removed from the direct exposure.

At times, the person's work in itself is the focus of attention, rather than the individual him/herself. This includes people in an artistic line of work. Examples include the Statue of Liberty designer Frederic Bartholdi (Leo), clothing designers Giorgio Armani and Bill Blass (Cancers), surrealist painter Rene Magritte (Scorpio), and underground artist Andy Warhol (Leo).

Writers with a 12th House Sun include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Gemini), "Dune" author Frank Herbert (Libra), Gertrude Stein (Aquarius)

People in a behind-the-scenes role behind higher profile celebrities include President Reagan's chief-of-staff Jim Baker (Taurus) and diplomat Henry Kissinger (Gemini).

When high-profile actors and personalities have a 12th House Sun we often see some reluctance or a degree of discomfort embracing the celebrity profile that we traditionally associate with actors. It may be, however, that the alter-ego (the role played) is more at the forefront than the actual self. In this category are mother-daughter actresses Judy Garland (Gemini) and Liza Minneli (Pisces). Other celebrities include radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh (Capricorn) whose TV show failed but flourishes on radio, Jim Backus (Pisces) who arguably is best remembered for his voice over of the cartoon character Mr. Magoo, and rocker Janis Joplin (Capricorn),

Other 12th House Sun people include actor Robert Blake (Virgo), magician David Copperfield (Virgo), 375-pound transvestite "Divine" (Libra), Spiritual and political leader Mahatma Gandhi (Libra), publisher William Randolph Hearst (Taurus), labor leader Jimmy Hoffa (Aquarius), football coach Knute Rockne (Pisces), John "beautiful mind" Nash (Gemini), "Queen of Mean" Leona Helmsley (Cancer), immunologist Jonas Salk (Scorpio), and auto entrepreneur Henry Ford (Leo).

Sometimes those with Sun in the 12th where the individual seems totally comfortable in the public eye, but the examples presented here represent situations where the influence is not counterbalanced by other dominant factors in their charts.

Very strong ATLANTIS past life connection is a possibility. Majority of Star Seeds have 12th House Suns and Fire Sign Rising [mostly Sagittarius Rising though.]

" Anyone here have planets in 12th house? Do you find that it affects your outward behavior/appearance?"

I think that if objects are in 12th house and conjunct the Ascendant (which means that they are rising), it would effect appearance

Both my mother and my maternal aunt Dominga have Sun in 12th house that is not conjuncting the Ascendant. I don't see any Solar qualities effecting their behavior, appearance.

They both have a history of substance abuse issues. Their father had Moon in Pisces.

Both of them have Sun aspecting Neptune.
My mother as Sun trine Neptune, and my Aunt Dominga has Sun conjunct Neptune (and yes..Neptune is in 12th).

my mother spent time in jail, and she has been in psychiatric hospitals.

my Aunt Dominga was in the Army which is an institution, and she has a career of helping military veterans get disability compensation payments. She had spent time in a psychiatric hospital against her will. Her Mars in Scorpio is in 12th,and it conjuncts her Ascendant in Scorpio. I'd say that Mars effects her appearance and behavior, like manly qualities.

My mom's biological mother had Sun conjunct Mars in 12th house, and there is nothing that I know about her. My mother never knew her. She disappeared without a trace. That will give you a clue about her Sun conjunct Mars in 12th. Another thing, her Sun conjunct Mars in 12th fits with the anima of my maternal grandfather who had Moon in Pisces and was in the Marines when he met my grandmother. Her Sun and Mars also conjunct transneptunian dwarf planet candidate Varuna. Therefore, Varuna was also in 12th.

My maternal grandfather had Mars in 12th, and it's not conjunct the Ascendant. He also had Sun quintile Neptune, actually. His Sun,Neptune, and Sedna were in 5th harmonic triangle with a corresponding midpoint picture of Sun conjunct Neptune/Sedna midpoint. He had Scorpio Ascendant like my aunt Dominga. Scorpio is traditionally ruled by Mars. He was in the Marines which I already mentioned. He was an alcoholic, and he committed suicide.

I have two of Pluto's fellow dwarf planets in my 12th house. Those are Makemake and Haumea. Makemake doesn't conjunct my Ascendant. It does square my Ascendant ruler. Haumea is conjunct my Ascendant, and so I have it rising. It may effect my appearance, behavior. As a transneptunian dwarf planet, it can effect my appearance and behavior in an otherworldly, nonconformist way. Both Makemake and Haumea are named after Polynesian deities. Makemake is named after the Rapanui fertility creation god. Haumea is named after the Hawaiian fertility creation goddess. There have been people that thought I am of Polynesian ancestry. Haumea is a female energy, and there is femininity in my appearance and behavior.

I was in the navy, and so I was involved in an institution. I had been in psychiatric hospitals against my will, and they were connected to misdiagnoses.

My Moon in Pisces,Moon square Neptune, and Moon trine 12th house ruler (Sun) would also indicate experiencing my mother as an ultrasensitive type which she definitely is.

I come from an ultrasensitive, neurodivergent family on both sides. Metaphysical experiences are probably nothing unusual to our family. I don't want to talk about it because it's very private stuff. My family is strongly influenced by Scorpio,Pluto, and other transneptunians, and so they tend to be very secretive and this would include being secretive about metaphysical things. After all, people that talk about this stuff can get them viewed as being schizophrenic for we live in days of psychiatry. I do believe that schizophrenia does exist too.
