Yesterday asteroid dwarf planet Ceres turned stationary direct in 20'40 Sagittarius.

In right ascension (equatorial longitude),there is a Sun trine Stationary Ceres in the sky less than 1 degree applying now.

Ceres is also 27'15 South in the Declinations, and so it well out of bounds.

I love your posts Raymond
how would Transiting Ceres effect the Natal Ascendant if it was conjunct?

Thanks Lalinda,

Well...Ceres is the dwarf planet of nurturing.
Transiting Ceres conjunct the Ascendant would bring nurturing matters in high focus. It can be a time of being more of a nurturer whether it's to yourself and others.

Transiting Ceres it coming back to my Sun on 25°56 Sagittarius.
It turned direct on my Venus/Mars-mp on 20°39 Sagittarius.
Though I donīt know how to connect Ceres with Venus/Mars interpretationwise.

Lalinda,

I would say that Transit Ceres will highlight family issues, especially with the mother, nurturing, caring, and eating habits maybe?

"I would say that Transit Ceres will highlight family issues, especially with the mother, nurturing, caring, and eating habits maybe?"

Yep...I agree

It's been transiting in my 4th house. It's definitely strong emphasis on family.

Thank you both.

so Ceres is to Nurture?

At the end of April, my beloved boss died unexpectantly throwing us all for a loop.
Since then I have stepped in for his wife.
(I was with her in the hospital when it happened)
anyway I have made sure to see her everyday, I call in the morning and we plan our day according to what we have to do.
I've had to totally change my personal habits, hopefully for the better.

I don't mind any of this, it's just different and takes some getting used to.

How in line with Ceres is that?

ETA We eat out so much, we're both gaining weight.

That is very much in tune with Ceres nurturing quality.
I find that admirable, caring for practically unrelated people, who are not in your friend-circle (unless she is your best friend anyway).
I find that very special.

Sorry to hear that about your boss though.
WEre there any transits describing this loss?
WEll, since Ceres is so highlighted, maybe challenging Pluto transits? Is Pluto in your 10th house?

Yes there was
Transiting Mars was exactly conjunct my natal Uranus/8th.
(N.Uranus is tightly squared my N Moon/Taurus/5th)
Even though I was aware of this transit, I still thought it was directed more at me.

Yeah that is the difficulty you never know HOW a certain constellation plays out exactly.

A friend of mine died in a motorcycle accident many years ago, when Tr Saturn was exactly opposing my Neptune, which rules my 3rd house, and squared my Jupiter in 3rd house, which rules my ASC; there were actually more deaths during that time and my brother, too, had an accident, but he was lucky, just had a few bruises.
Since his Moon-Jupiter-Uranus-conjunction falls onto my Neptune, this Tr Saturn was opposing his Moon, Jupiter and Uranus. He was driving faster than what was allowed (which teaches us: if Saturn is looking, better ALWAYS play by the rules, HIS rules, not your own).

In his case he was personally affected, physically, in my case it led "only" to a spiritual crisis, though I would have expected it to have physical affects on me, too, as my Neptune conjuncts ASC by 2 degrees.

it`s really not easy sometimes.

Mind if I join in your reflections on Ceres? I spent some time researching this dwarf planet for a book (Future in the Stars) and feel I know her quite well.

I think one of her main themes is grieving. Her presence is around during the loss of children, parents or sometimes even at the end of loving relationships. This may be because all the planets represent an abundance OR depletion of their themes or keywords. But Ceres is the Roman name for Demeter. And in the `Hymn to Demeter` we are told of how very involved Demeter is with the grieving process. Especially the grieving of a mother for a child. In this, Ceres can be of real assistance in a world that seems to have forgotten the value of the grieving process and seeks to `fix` or remove it with chemicals.

Another of her important meanings is kidnapping and child molestation. Ceres was in near conjunction (within 1 degree) with Pluto, her husband in myth, at 4 degrees of Capricorn at the end of April when there was a spate of news about kidnapped children. In fact this spate of news joins that about dis-functional parenting in general. In England, there have been several regarding children suffering brutal and savage injury at the hands of their mothers, or grieving mothers mourning the death of their children. For my report on `Ceres Pluto and Infanticide` go the blog entitled that on http://www.midlandsschoolofastrology.co.uk/blog_breaking_astrology_daily_news.html

On the 20th October 2010 she makes her complete conjunction with her mythical husband at 3 degrees Capricorn. It will be then that we see if these themes play out again.

You may be interested to know that the physical composition of the Asteroid Belt dwarf and the Kuiper Belt is THE SAME, even though there is 4 billion kilometers and 4 planets in between them! Ceres may be the female Pluto of the Asteroid Belt! To read more of this, you can always buy my book. Go to the home page of the web site address given above.

Hope that adds some new aspects to your understanding of this fascinating energy.

pluto was persephone's (or proserpina in latin to be correct) husband, was he not? and persephone was the abducted "child" (fullgrown) whom ceres mourned and created winter.

Interesting... she turned direct on the day of my grandmother's funeral, when several people ended feuds.

I was also contacted my someone wanting to resolve things, and Ceres is conjunct their North Node, and trine our Mercury placements. I burst into tears when I first found what they'd written, because it seemed sincere - something they said later, changed that feeling for me, though - a resurfacing of arrogance, which brought my defenses back.. at first I'd been impressed by the fact that they'd actually apologized to me for several things (not the thing that upset me the most, late last year, but it still floored me). I'm now back to feeling wary ~ there was definitely something nurturing in the air, early last week, though.

Hades/Pluto was the uncle/husband of Persephone/Proserpina who was the daughter of Demeter/Ceres and Zeus/Jupiter

I agree that Ceres involved in the grief process.
I do believe that it can be involved with matters of letting go of people that you love and care about.

My current Solar return chart has Sun in 5'20 Scorpio conjunct Ceres in 7'00 Scorpio in 12th trine Moon in 3'45 Pisces in 4th. I felt this year to be about family, nurturing, and matters involving the mother. I reunited with a lot of relatives on facebook this Solar Return period. Now I have 16 relatives on facebook. I went to a family reunion, and that was first family gathering since 1999. I met some relatives that I haven't seen since my maternal grandfather's funeral.

I have the following relatives on facebook
2 aunts
1 aunt in law
1 great aunt in law
2 uncles
3 first cousin removed
7 first cousins
1 third cousin
1 2nd cousin, first removed

I started off with 1 first cousin,1st removed and 1 2nd cousin,1st removed on facebook the last solar return period.

all the others have joined my facebook friendlist after the beginning of my current solar return period.

all of these relatives are on mom's side of the family. It's the only side of the family that I know too.

It is true that in myth Persephone (Proserpina) is the daughter of Demeter (Ceres). But I believe they are emanations of each other. Carl Jung said "Every mother contains her daughter in herself and every daughter her mother. Every woman extends backward into her mother and forward into her daughter."

The child, maiden, mother, old crone merge from one to another. They are all different manifestations of the same cycle, or different stages of the same energy. All stages of development of the same earthly process. Life forms emerge, grow and decay, passing into the underworld, but then emerging again. This was the messge of the Eleusian Mysteries. That humans share the same cycle as corn. Death is not a finality, it is a preparation for re-birth.

Ceres is a symbol of life's evolution and generation through the physical process of nuturing seeds and harvest to fulfillment. Be it the mother's care of the human seed or the farmers care of seeds of grain.

This is the essential message of Ceres. And she is there in the darkest hour and the greatest pain, gently supporting as we make transition. She walks with us and tends us as we grow.

Did Ceres actually originated from the kuiper belt?

If so, I wonder how it got there.

Haumea was said to be much bigger than it actually is now, and it's already a large object and not much smaller than Pluto.
It is said that it was subjected to a collision with another large object.

If that is true, I am wondering which object is it. It seems like there is another large transneptunian object that has yet to be discovered.
