So Mercury Retro (read: "The big bad monster") is coming up and astrologers across the world are cautioning against signing contracts, making purchases (mainly electronic ones), unlucky mis-communications, making important decisions and so forth...

I have decided not to care. I will ignore Mercury retrograde.

*she didn't!*

Feel free to join me! lol

Normally I don't live my life by transits because I think it is pointless to run from certain things, BUT - I usually paid attention to Saturn transits in particular (which seemed to affect me) and Mercury Retrograde periods (which seemed like havoc for many).

I changed my mind because - it seems a bit random. Some things work quite well during Mercury Retro.. Others do not. It almost seems like "luck of the draw".

I have a friend who purchased a home 15 years ago during a Mercury Retro period. She signed the contract during this time. And she is HAPPY. She never once had reasons to go back on her decision.

So I simply won't avoid things during this Retro.. Life's weird - some things work - some don't.

I am starting to think there's no rhyme or reason..

Have you had similar experiences?
For example.. lets say you had no choice - and you HAD TO sign something or begin something significant (like your degree or a new job) during a Merc Retro period..

Has this worked out or not? Did you prove traditional astrology wrong?

Of course it can work out. Just don't pay too much attention to it. Or if you do experience any kind of set backs, just relax and laugh. Maybe you'll need some extra time to finish what you have started but it could turn out to be even better. Just don't rush, take all the time you need.

I have Mercury Rx in my natal chart. So I had to learn ( and I'm still learning!) to be cool and not to get mad when things go wrong. Which they usually do. But I get things done even in the most difficult or complicated situation.

I can't remember - I wish that I'd kept a separate astrological diary, just to keep track of specific things.

One reason I stopped paying attention to transits and retrogrades, for a while, was that it seemed as though there was only a true small window of opportunity for anyone to do anything - mercury would turn direct, along with another planet, but then, days later - WATCH OUT - one of the heavy hitters would be going retro, so you should be wary of this or that. It was getting on my nerves.

(Not that I don't appreciate the heads-up.)

First of all Astrology isn't black and white. This Mercury Rx will be at 20 Virgo. It depends where it falls in your chart and the relationship it's having with your planets.

Once you determine the possible relationship it will have with you, then you can determine if this will affect you or not.

Mercury will go retrograde at 19'04 Virgo. That's conjunct my Geocentric North Venus Node in 18'43 Virgo in my 1st house and sextile my chart ruler Mercury in 18'21 Scorpio in 3rd. The retrograde Mercury won't necessarily be bad for me.

Dy-na ~ does MSN still work for you? (I see you there, but I thought you deleted your email.)

I'm not looking to chat - I wanted to send you a message.

I'll edit this out later... when I walked away the other day, I thought about Mars retrograde, and how things that happened during that period (and since - the ripples) have affected me this year.

Oh, Mercury will be retrograde in my 11th, I think - heading back into my 10th. I've been having computer problems for months, so anything that happens there won't be related to the Rx. It would be nice to fix it, though.

I have natal Mercury rx and I haven't noticed any marked difference when it retrogrades, so I do ignore them.

However, exes always pop up if it hits their charts correctly lol.

I checked the geocentric nodes of Mercury at the time Mercury goes retrograde. I believe that they could be relevant as they relate to Mercury's orbit.

Geocentric North Mercury Node in 9'48 Leo
conjunct Juno in 9'19 Leo

relationships,partnerships involved

Geocentric South Mercury Node in 20'03 Virgo
conjunct Mercury 19'04 Virgo

as you see,
when Mercury goes retrograde, it will be conjunct its Geocentric South Node.

That would suggest that the upcoming retrograde Mercury period is indeed related to past communications.

Mercury conjunct its own node is Maximum Effectiveness....Mercury's themes are strongly pronounced

during the moment of its retrograde,
retrograde Mercury in 19'04 Virgo
trine Geocentric South Pluto Node in 19'23 Capricorn
trine Geocentric South Saturn Node in 20'15 Capricorn

so it seems like it can be a time of uncovering past secrets, reality checks
Saturn and Pluto Nodes move very slowly, and so these nodes are collective energies, and these matters involve the collective
It would be interesting to see what comes out in the media

It looks like the retrograde Mercury will be involved in relationships with me because it will conjunct my Geocentric North Venus Node in 18'53 Virgo in 1st, trine my Geocentric South Saturn Node in 18'00 Capricorn and Geocentric South Pluto Node in 18'18 Capricorn in 5th,and sextile my Mercury in 18'21 Scorpio in 3rd. I have to get some officers and directors for the non profit organization that I started. I think that's what the retrograde Mercury period in my chart is about.

I know three people having surgery this week.
When does the retro begin?

I heard that if you have surgery during a merc rx, the recovery time is longer.

I rarely pay attention to Merc in retro since it doesn't seem to effect me either (but I always wondered if it's b/c my Merc is retro in my own chart)

And also... I have noticed with the larger planets transits that sometimes the first pass-thru effects me but the 3rd pass-thru ALWAYS effects me...

I had sec progress mercury in slow retro in almost 20 year. Now sec progr merk conj my N merk exact and will go forward for ever.
I was more introvert in merk retro progress than I'm today. My merk progress was in all the year in orb and in conj to the natal merk/uran and also in square to my N moon/nessus and also in short period in opp to my saturn.

My t-square have been trigged hard in my whole life. I don't cry for that . I still in life and feel me more and more pleased.I also feel me lucky to be in good health

Teasel - The msn account always stays there, even when you delete the email address. But I haven't logged on to msn, because I'm doing a few things at the same time lately and I can't juggle them all (I need more Gem influence - me thinks). It's easy to post here - but chatting distracts me.

:edit: Teasel, does your email start with a 'b' and end in an 'i'?
Just making sure that is yours.

Thanks All
