Boy oh boy oh boy…………..I don’t know much about astrology , just enough to make me dangerous.

In less than 12 hours I head off to hospital for a hysterectomy. It’s not something I wanted to do but with endometriosis and multiple fibroids growing within the uterine wall its affecting my quality of life.

Originally the surgery was supposed to take place in December last year, in typical Aries rising style all I could think of was me missing out on half my summer whilst recuperating so I postponed. The next date the hospital gave me arrived in April, unfortunately that is a very busy time of year and my Cappy MC kicked in and I felt duty-bound so once again I postponed.

Now my big day is tomorrow and I don’t know if I’ve seen a scarier surgery chart. When the hospital notified me of the date and time I had to peek and felt ill looking at that Scorpio Moon parked in my 8th house directly opposite my natal Mars. It scared me so much that I have refused to look at it till now. I know it’s not a good idea to have surgery when the moon is in the sign of whatever part of the body it rules. Bad luck for me, postponing the surgery for a third time would have put me back on the bottom of the waiting list and I would have had approx 2 year wait.

Just to make it more interesting my SA Sun is now at 28°Leo conjunct my natal Uranus. My SA Mars is conjunct my natal Sun.

Anyways…..for those of you interested in surgery charts feel free to comment even if you see something negative, fire away.

Providing all goes well *cough cough*, I’ll be back in a few days to update.

Uranus, Mars, Chiron and the 1st/6th/8th houses are often activated when surgery occurs, so I don't think stressful aspects is something you should be worried about because the event itself is stressful.

My 1st surgery:
tr.Sun (in the 8th) conj Pluto, opp. Venus/Mars
tr. Mars (in the 6th) formed a T-square with Venus/Mars and Pluto (in the 8th)
tr.Merc 6/8HR conj NN

My 2nd surgery:
tr. Chiron (in the 1st) formed a Grand Cross squaring natal Mercury 6/8HR and Uranus 1Hco-R and opposing Saturn 1HR
tr.Mars (in the 6th again) square natal Mars
tr.NN conj Mars

Best of luck to you!

All went well in the end. Prior to my surgery I became quite upset as the surgeon said that my ovaries would be coming out too and so I had to remind him that this was against my wishes. I was literally wheeled into surgery clutching my admission papers that clearly stipulated ‘Preserve Ovaries’.

The surgeon says it was a very difficult surgery that ended up taking three hours as opposed to the routine one hour. My uterus was four times the size it should have been due to all the fibroid tumors and it along with my fallopian tube and ovary was in a tangled mess with my bowel because of all the adhesions. As a result I did lose this ovary but the other remains intact. They filmed the procedure and showed me photos of all the adhesions. They are impressed with my recovery so far as the bowel was quite a mess from all the adhesions and therefore needed quite a lot of handling which bowels don’t like and can apparently ‘fall asleep’.

I went into this surgery half expecting not to come out of it and almost ashamed to admit not really caring if I did or not. Since my surgery I have been feeling so grateful……….about everything, sure this may be an effect of the morphine but I really was expecting to fall into a massive hole of depression but I’m just thankful.

My hospital stay was lovely, amazing nursing staff, a beautiful room to myself with a balcony overlooking a park, heck I even enjoyed the obnoxious antics at 2am from the drunken bogans staggering home from the nearby nightspots.

I’ve only just come home and I’m armed with a stash of morphine pain relief that whilst it really appeals to my terribly afflicted Neptune I’ve so far limited myself to about a quarter of my allowance. It’s not that I don’t want it, I do - screams Neptune, but I have noticed that the pain relief is almost too good and I’m picking up a broom to sweep a floor, doing a load of washing etc when I should just be taking it easy.

When they wheeled me into theatre I was focused on the clock. 9:42am was my last recollection before the anesthesia took over. The moon at 27°04 Scorpio having just passed my natal mars and moving into an exact opposition with my midpoint of Moon/Chiron at 27°05 Taurus. Also Part of Fortune was sitting up there conjunct my MC keeping it all good.

Gotta love the astrology in that.

Thank you all for your well wishes and positive thoughts, it’s very much appreciated.

Hi Winter,

I am glad, all went well.

Now, I can say: I was afraid that there will be some complications with your surgery.

Welcome back!
