so i'm pondering astrology of course and i'm wondering about how the inconjunct/quincunx manifests in synastry.

i have this with some one. his sun inconjunct my neptune... with an orb of less than one degree.

my moon in conjunct his ascendant and his mars...we have a lot of quincunxes now that i think about it.

i believe i can characterize this aspect as just missing each other. with the opposition the 2 are finding a balance on a single point. but the in conjunct has disharmonious elements and modalities (his fixed-fire sun and my cardinal-earth neptune)

I think you have to flip in to compatible energies--if you can.

You have to act with that part of each of you that can relate i.e. where the energies work/are compatible. You have to work around the inconjunct energies as if they are another language.
You have to find the language you both can speak.

I wouldn't worry about Sun quincunx Neptune in synastry unless it's a very close orb aspect like within a 10 minutes

quincunx is one of the minor 12th harmonic/30 degree series of aspects.

I use a 1 1/2 degree orb for it in natal. I use the same orb for semisextile,semisquare,sesquiquadrate,quintile,biquintile.

they are like the major aspects of the minor aspects.

Neptune is a long orbiting,slow moving object, and so it's generational. Much smaller orbs are used. I use 1 degree orb for conjunction,opposition,square,trine for Neptune and slightly less for sextile.

Sun quincunx Neptune is not like having..say Sun quincunx Moon which is an aspect between fast moving objects.

I think both semisextile and quincunx are referred to as inconjuncts

both are 12th harmonics
semisextile = 1/12
quincunx = 5/12
