OK, someone is confusing me? Is the rising sign not your physical appearance, how others see you, your outward personality and considered your "mask"?
I just read from someone that your sun is your outward personality and rising sign is more you that the sun.------------------

rising sign is the character or persona we become to fit in with our family. its the type of behavior tht was rewarded by out parents ... i think this why most people's asc is in some way a derivative of one or both of their parent, by sign, element or modality.because of this, the ascendant is wht we wear by persona, mask or even physical appearance/mannerism. the sun is the character that we are constantly becoming. and all other planets and points are to serve our sun. harmonius aspects between the sun and ascendant make our personalities more integrated. hard aspects show conflicts in the personality IP: Logged |

I have issues believing that the ASC is our "physical" appearance... b/c I definitely don't look like a Gemini Rising but I sure act like it! lol If I look like anything it's my Taurus Moon/Venus Scorpio- going off how my body is built, type of clothes I wear and my body language... I definitely agree that my ASC is my mask... but maybe it's different for everybody? IP: Logged |

racole, I believe that anything in Astrology can be questioned. It's good to take astrological things with a grain of salt. I used to believe in many certain things in Astrology that I am now questioning. If you think that your lunar aspects, maybe they do. There are people in my family that I resemble my late maternal grandfather.
He had Ascendant in Scorpio which is the sign of my Sun,Mercury,and Venus. I have Virgo Ascendant. We both shared Moon in Pisces in common. on the other hand. My mom would compare me to my maternal uncle Dino in how I look, he had Sun in Scorpio. His Ascendant is in Sagittarius. My mom says that I resemble my father a lot,and he shared Moon in Pisces with me.
maybe it's just genetics

I grew up wondering if I was really related to my family. I looked nothing like them, skin color was similar but I was still lighter than the rest. I look like my Sag asc. I don't know most of my family's rising sign but the only thing I can find similar to my family is that my dad has the same color eyes as me. Other than that I stand out. I do look more like my dads side but I still feel different or maybe that the Aqua  ------------------

Glaucus~ the first time I saw your pictures (and this is just first physical impression) I felt Scorpio/Pisces... you felt very deep and passionate, but maybe people pick up on different aspects of the chart. Nobody picks up my Saggie energy when they first meet me unless I'm all fired up or excited about something... A lot of my family has moon in Pisces (mom, grandma, aunts uncles, and my cousins) and they are all fire ASC- I definitely don't see their ASC... IP: Logged |

Yea, its quite subjective... I think Venus might influence a bit in our appearance and the planets we have in the 1st house and probably the aspects between Sun/Moon/ASC/Venus and those in the 1st house.IP: Logged |
