Hi All!

Past thread for this topic was lost when I posted to 'Benedict Moon' so I wanted to restart this thread and ask if anyone has experiences to share regarding Adonis conjunctions, particularly for women?

I've found out some info on the web about the influence for men, but not so much for women.

I heard back from Peri about Adonis being a vegetation god, and from IQ about his connection to Tammuz.

From what I've read for men, Adonis represents the ideal man, and gives an allure, magnetism and desire to please.

I'm new to this board, and have really enjoyed reading so many insightful posts, especially about asteroids. And thanks again to Peri, IQ and the moderator for making me feel welcome on the previous thread!

To answer your original question: my Adonis makes no conjunctions to anything other than my MC. It does make aspects to asteroids conjuncting other angles (Amor/ASC, Valentine/DC, Eros/IC).

And there isn't anything remotely Adonislike about my chosen career field (Nursing) unless you count 'youthful' since I work in Pediatrics. But its was funny you asked about whether I came across anyone Adonislike *at work* because a 20-something year old patient came to our floor 4 weeks ago and I nicknamed him 'Adonis' because he was like an indiscreetly vain Sex God. He was very nice though, and happened to be a Libra too...LOL.

Also wanted to re-post thoughts about influence of Brad Pitt's Adonis conjunct Sun, and the battle between Persephone and Aphrodite over Adonis may be symbolically playing out in the media battle between Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie.

Interesting, because Angelina to me is a definite Persephone. Im not so sure about Aniston to Aphrodite though, unless you want to talk about her being Venusian without the sluttiness.

Yes, I've wondered which would be Persephone, and I go back and forth. In the myth, when given the choice between the two, Adonis decides to stay with Aphrodite, and Brad has chosen Angelina. She also does a lot of good for others. Yet she's capable of playing very strong women characters in her movies, too.

Maybe it's more about the media and the fan base that has forced roles for each?

I definitely think its all in people's perceptions too (media and fans). I personally don't care for either of them and wonder how much of it is real, and how much has been blown out of proportion.

In the actual mythology though...I prefer Persephone.

I see Angelina more like an aphrodite than persephone but that's only my thought.

Maybe Jolie is an evolved Persephone (if there's such a thing) since she herself has admitted to a lot of struggles in her past.
But I think I heard that she has Venus conjunct Asc. in Cancer...? And that would be Aphrodite again, too, right?

I've adonis 16, union 18, aphrodite 20 in virgo in house 3. They work in unity and not be in my look.

Yes, I just remembered that which is why I went back on my original theory. The roles could be switched or projected at random by themselves and the people involved in this thing.

Looking at both sides, this dialogue is very Venus/Libra-like, isn't it? lol

Popcorn 'I've adonis 16, union 18, aphrodite 20 in virgo in house 3'

-------------------------
Since 3rd house rules community, communication, writing, how do you think this stellium relates? Do you meet prospective romantic partners through any of these areas?

Thanks to Peri in the lost thread who responded that Adonis had to do with looking younger than your age, and aging gracefully, although if it manifests negatively, it could indicate obsession over looks/age.

I decided to do a quick search of celebrities who might fit this to see where Adonis lands. I didn't have birth times so just looked for Adonis/Sun connections, and found results right away!

Demi Moore, Suzanne Somers and Jaclyn Smith all have Adonis in the same sign as their Sun. Besides the association with youthfulness, and in Jaclyn's case, aging gracefully, what's also interesting for all of them is how they've been associated with traditionally men's themes.
Demi Moore's 'GI Jane' movie, Jaclyn handling guns in Charlie's Angels, and Suzanne who advocates the use of testosterone in her therapies.

I'd love to see research compiled about the asteroids, like the Gauquelin Book of Charts that showed associations between planet placement and careers...

I forgot to add that I looked at women's charts only, to see what the counterpart might be to a man's...
