I am currently working on a novel that takes place in London leading up to and during the plague years of 1348-50. In my research I've learned that astrology was one of the main tools for predicting and diagnosing health problems. I have 2 questions... 1. What would a medieval chart of a person seeking medical advice have looked like/how would it have impacted on the medical advice given? Does anyone know who was given training in astrology at that time? Was there a guild? 2. Has anyone done any geographical astrology charts of the UK (well and most of Europe for that matter) for the year 1348 to determine if there are any planetary influences that caused or warned of a plague that would spread and kill so violently? My novel is historical fiction, but I'd love to incorporate some factual things about Astrological practices at that time. cheers!

You may want to contact Robert Hand. He's one of the most famous astrologers in the world and sometime withing the last 10 years, he has completely switch over to doing Medieval/Hellenistic Astrology only.If he can not help you, perhaps he can lead you to someone else or some books with which you can begin your research. Just google him and you'll find him.
