My question is - If you have a trine in your natal chart (preferably a trine involving personal planets), how do you deal with the harsh aspects in synastry involving those same planets?

For example:

If you have a Sun/Moon trine in natal... How do you react when another person's Sun is in conjunction (opposition or square) to your Moon? Or alternatively, when another person's Moon is in conjunction (opposition or square) to your Sun? Is this pleasant or irritating? How long does it take you to throw in the towel?

And just a couple more questions...

1. Do you have a preference for partners who have the same planets in an easy aspect?

So if you have a Sun/Moon trine... would you prefer a partner who also has their Sun/Moon trine or sextile in natal? (regardless of signs)

2. Do you have a preference for easy aspects (in this area of your chart) in synastry?

So, if you have Sun in Aries trine Moon in Sagittarius - do you prefer that their Sun or Moon is in Leo (making an easy aspect - trine - to both your Sun/Moon) or in Aquarius (making an easy aspect - sextile - to both your Sun/Moon)?

The question is - Do you prefer this to the conjunction, square and opposition?

In the example above, if you answered 'yes' - this would mean you'd choose Leo/Aqua energy on this level - over the following: Aries, Libra, Capricorn, Cancer, Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo, Gemini.

3. Which 'harsh' aspects do you find most difficult (in this area of your chart)?

-- In synastry: If you have a natal Sun/Moon trine - and you had to pick from Sun/Moon conjunction, opp, square - as the most difficult synastry aspect for you, which one would it be?

-- In your partner's natal chart: If you have a natal Sun/Moon trine - which Sun/Moon aspects in his/her chart create the most friction? (the square, opposition or the conjunction?)

In case that got confusing (Thank you Mercury retro) - I'll answer this myself -
I have:

Venus trine Mars

-----

Their Mars conjunct/square my Venus = YUCK!
Their Mars opposite/trine/sextile my Venus = YAY!
My Mars opposite/square their Venus = BORING!
My Mars trine/sextile their Venus = PERFECTION!

-----

1. I definitely have a preference for lovers/partners who have an easy Venus/Mars aspect in their natal chart. It just feels less problematic and we can both relax and enjoy the ride.

2. I think I prefer Venus/Mars in Pisces or Virgo. It seems easier - we are more in tune.

3. In synastry: I find Venus conjunct Mars most difficult. Too much friction for whatever reason.

In a partner's chart: I find the Venus/Mars square most difficult. I can't really see myself having a relationship here. We are too different romantically.

I can only answer on this (right now).
My tantric libra (as it was my most live-giving experience..)
has a close Venus-Pluto sextile (like me)
and a very close Venus-Neptune trine (like me).

I've noticed before that I LOVE the Venus-Pluto sextile - it's like those people have a certain natural sensuality.
I also attract the harsh Venus-Pluto (incl. conj.) aspects but it's just not that relaxed..

Interesting t opic. Wondered about that myself.

I can`t really play, as I do not have any trines to personal planets.

I have Venus square Pluto though and am very drawn to challenging (conjunction and square) aspects between Venus/Mars and Pluto.
In synastry as well as in their natal.

I have Sun trine Moon. I haven't noticed a preference for people who also have that aspect or if their Moons trine my Sun/vice versa.

The only thing I've noticed is that I have Moon opposite Jupiter and I've dated a few guys with the same aspect. Probably a coincidence though.

I haves me some personal trines.

Sun - Moon
Venus - Mars

MY LEO MOON...

cnj their Sun:
I'm not a fan. I'm cool with most Leo Suns, but when they're cnj my Moon, I usually find them domineering and bullying. Most likely this is bc my Uranus is square their Sun. They bring out my bratty rebellious teenager side. (There are exceptions.)

square and opp their Sun:
Love it! I find the squares exciting. They accentuate my Leo Moon in a good way. I feel "on" when I'm around them, but not in a way that burns me out and leaves me feeling drained. Those Suns are my renewable energy source. The opp doesn't bring out my Leo side, but does feel pleasantly upbeat.

MY SAG SUN...

cnj their Moon: One of my favorite synastry aspects. Feels exciting, creative, deep, and spiritual. (Neptune is cnj my Sun and sextile Pluto.)

square and opp their Moon: I haven't experienced it enough to have an opinion. It must not impact me much in either direction.

MY CAP VENUS...

cnj and square their Mars: As with the last group, I haven't noticed anything.

opp their Mars: I feel a strong reaction, usually positive & often sexual. I do have this with one person I can't stand though. And it's not a case of frustrated sexual attraction. I straight up don't like him. I guess Venus is influencing my strong dislike of him. Venus is personal and has preferences. She shrieks at me that he's a douche. Normally I don't dislike people so severely. My Neptune kinda anesthetizes me and helps me care for them in an impersonal way but this guy...ugh.

(My Venus isn't that attracted to Mars aspects. It far prefers contact with someone's Sun, Asc, and Venus, regardless of aspect type.)

(edit: It's my Juno that's crazy strong attracted to someone's Mars, not my Venus.)

MY VIRGO MARS...

cnj their Venus: Love it.

square and opp their Venus: A mixed bag, but an energy I strongly feel. When I like it, I feel happy and bold around them. When I don't like it, I find their pursuit irritatingly pushy and demanding.

"No" to Questions 1 & 2. Perhaps this is because both of my trines are also involved in hard aspects. So they understand and like it rough.

Sun - Moon:
Sun is cnj Neptune and Moon is square Uranus.

Venus - Mars:
Mars is cnj Jupiter and semisquare Pluto. Venus is quindecile Juno. (Minor but real, I swear.)

This quiz popped into my head today. I was thinking about the natal Sun-Moon and Venus-Mars placements of the people I've had sex with. (Gotta pass the time in traffic somehow. )

1. Sun and Moon - same sign and widely cnj.
Venus and Mars - trine by sign but not aspect.

2. Sun and Moon - quincunx by sign but not aspect.
Venus and Mars - same sign & cnj.

3. Sun and Moon - opp by aspect but not sign.
Venus and Mars - square by sign but not aspect.

4. Sun and Moon - trine by sign but not aspect.
Venus and Mars - trine by sign but not aspect.

5. Sun and Moon - same sign but not cnj.
Venus and Mars - same sign but not cnj.

Yeah, yeah. Now you all know how many.

Number 4 is my husband and obviously my favorite. He's also the one whose Sun-Moon and Venus-Mars placements are most similar to mine. (Mine are both trine. His are both trine by sign.)

In synastry we don't have "easy" aspects between those planet pairs. But our similar natal temperaments make up for that. It's easy for us to satisfy each other physically and emotionally. The hard synastry aspects provide us the desire to do so.
