Oh no. That is what I am afraid of. We will never get past the specific confinements to feel and cherish the strong connections. Maybe the name of the game for these Saturn aspects is ... Patience.

Wow that is alot of saturn....and look at all of that under 1* too...but yes I would see it as binding but perhaps a bit too restrictive with the 2 squares that Saturn is making to the planets (Sun and Merc). I think that would be a harsher aspect than the trine and sextiles of saturn you guys have in synastry. (I'm assuming it's relationship since you listed composite? Correct me if I'm wrong.)

It could be worse. (Yes, it is possible)

What bothers me the most is the composite Mars Saturn square though. It is said to be one of the hardest aspects to have, because it generally causes frustration, resentment, etc.

Saturn sq Mercury...who's the saturn and who's the mercury?

Do you guys have communication problems? Perhaps the saturn person is restrictive of the mercury person's communication/ideas and the mercury person feels it is hard to get his/her point across to the saturn person..?
