Hi folks,Out of curiosity, I used astro.com to see what my more 'complete' horoscope was. It produced the following main results: Sun sign: Leo Ascendant: Leo Moon sign: Capricorn Many sites seem to warn about the negative aspects 'doubling up', so to speak, but I haven't found an answer to this particular combination yet. So... then I stumbled upon this site, which seems quite active and friendly. Would somebody be so kind to explain the meaning of this combination, possible warnings/pitfalls etc? Trying to interpret that chart is rather daunting... IP: Logged |

hey cool, I have Asc Leo and Moon in Capricorn, too.Is your sun in the 1st or 12th? what are the degrees of your sun, moon, asc? in fact, i remember a man i knew with the Sun in Leo and Moon in Capricorn, he was quite the ambitious, industrious sort. leo and capricorn both have to do with authority and keeping up appearances. they're concerned with 'rank' as well, and the social score. basically it means that you 'shine' and have a certain amount of pride and dignity about you, but on an emotional level are somewhat of a child in need of support for your melancholic moods, but it's doubtful you'd be eager to show vulnerability in that area, probably only if the person was someone you respected/admired. but the best thing for me is to see the whole chart. you can leave the birth data if you like. Thanks for the help! Your analysis sounds spot on, for both the good and the bad... Is it derived from your own experience, with similar signs? I can add the chart to give more info: .

My birthday is the day after yours, so our Leo Suns are conjunct But I noticed that Saturn is conjunct your Leo Asc. That is going to tame the more showy and excessive side of Leo, you probably seem more conservative and stable than most Leo Suns. Did you seem older when you were younger? Or did you not feel like you could relate to people in your age group when you were younger or even now? The fact that you also have Capricorn Moon would emphasize the Saturnian qualities even more. One of my best friends is Leo Sun, ASC and Capricorn Moon :-)She works as a secretary in a law firm: an efficient and warm hearted lady - bossy, YES, but great at her work and a loving loyal friend. ~ Lana (Virgo Sun & Leo ASC) IP: Logged |

Wow, Lonake I love the dignity of the Leo. They feel "royal" lol They carry themselves in a way that I love,a natural dignity.
I love the childlike expression of themselves, the childlike openness and wonder It feels genuine. I did not know about the moods part but that fits, too ------------------ Pluto conjunct Dejanira, Girlfriend. IP: Logged |

Wow, thanks guys... a lot of surprisingly insightful and accurate comments here! quote: "But I noticed that Saturn is conjunct your Leo Asc. That is actually the case! Yes, I need to watch that ego and inherent bossiness, but the whole flashy side wasn't that strong (or so I tell myself). As a child and teenager, I did tend to live in my own little dreamworld; never being bullied or bothered, always invited to the parties, but still "detached" from the rest, in some strange way. Only after turning 18 and going to college did I manage to develop those people skills and become more comfortable with a more "flamboyant" side. *grin* Vertiver, are there differences with you, being a conjunct sign?Lonake's observation is also dead on: the moods, the need for a confidant etc. etc... and yes, we leos are open books when it comes to expressing excitement, curiosity and of course less pleasant feelings for others. That's something we need to be careful with... *rolls eyes* IP: Logged |

I have 4 planets in Leo, but my Son who has a Leo Asc acts more Leo than I do.. I cant take my eyes off him, I just never know what he's going to do next... lolI find him hanging from hangers in stores, I found him hanging from the roof of the house.. He NEVER stops talking, and he talks loud.. I always have to remind him "inside voice" He has a Taurus Stellium in his 10th.. PACKED 10th house. He's such a go getter.. He's so adorable, people just love him right off the bat.. He talks and socializes with everyone.. OO the questions he asks people :O He told one of my friends, if you want to catch a man, you should wear your hair down. (she had her hair up in a clip) HE removed the clip and shook her hair out... LOL... IP: Logged |

Gragham, " Is it derived from your own experience, with similar signs?" Somewhat, but it was mainly shortly synthesizing your sun moon asc for a man. if you were a woman i wouldve stated it somewhat differently.."Only after turning 18 and going to college did I manage to develop those people skills and become more comfortable with a more "flamboyant" side. " This is after your p.Sun moved out of the 12th house (hidden) but still within orb of conj your n.Asc, this would definitely bring you much more out in the open and feel more free to express yourself..and prob much more sure of what you wanted, finally feeling that the way you act to the outside world is completely in line with your solar essence, so it was a very strong expression. Ami, "I did not know about the moods part but that fits, too" With moods I was referring more to the Capricorn Moon, which is by nature reserved/serious, then with all the Leo would -definitely- not want to be around anyone who would bring them down on any level, so in this case emphasizing the need to both respect another as well as be respected. Both capricorn and leo are about respect and authority/personal dignity, so i'm sure those factors are strong here. The h12 n.position of the sun tones it down in a way, because they feel hidden for some reason and aren't sure why..they just know it's hard to get out of this box they find themselves in. sun in leo is dignified, asc leo with sun as chart ruler gives it even more importance, but there it is in h12, concerned with matters that aren't very worldly at all, so it's a matter of being seen but at the same time 'unseen' which can create a v.strange dichotomy in relation to the outer world, interactions. But with h12 sun it eventually progresses to conj natal asc which is very strong empowering, it allows someone to be who they are at face value, not hidden in anyway, 'what you see is what you get' It's still in the 1st house, so there's still that perfect synergy in the chart. i feel i can relate alot to you Gragham, i am a double leo too.the thing is, i dont have saturn conjunct asc, i have my moon trine it and pluto square it, maybe the outer planets have a similar less flamboyant effect on the leo asc.. or maybe its just because i have strong saturn in my chart even though its not on my asc. its possible my saturn Quincunx's my asc but i dont know my exact leo asc degree, i just know its naywhere between 8-12 degrees. likely around 10. my saturn is 7 capricorn.. strong saturn in leo-individuals = less flamboyance etc? i'd say its the asc aswell though.. they say the asc is our vehical in life, how we get to our destinations. e.g. imagine a school teacher with glasses driving a harley davidson , thats a Gemini Sun with a Sag/Aries ASC. anyway, point is, planets i think aspecting especially conjunct the asc, are part of our make up and choice of how we 'get through life'. so you use saturn as your vehical, in my chart i guess i use moon and pluto, but both use Sun as it is our native asc ruling planet. perhaps aspects to the asc ruler also count, in my case i have uranus trine my Sun, perhaps subtly uranus comes into my choice of vehicals what aspects does your Sun make? your less flamboyance is likely in part becuase you react with, and use saturn as a vehical, or part of your vehical to get through life, to travel to, do things. (in otherwords, you understand how saturn, ruling capricorn, as a sign and planet, is very much almost the opposite of leo/sun energy., regarding extrovertness, flamboyance and even confidence.) i read though that some one with a sun and asc in the same sign can also be like some one walking bare foot and using no vehical. because they use just themselves! Aha! I knew it! I have Saturn in my first house, and I had the same experience when I was younger. I always had this snobbish attitude with my peers, like I was so much more mature and different, so I also detached myself from my peers and kept to myself. Sometimes it takes a while to hone in the more flamboyant side of Leo too. One of my best friends, is a Leo with Leo Asc. and he is the most enthuiastic person I've ever met, he just makes you stoked whenever you're around him, and I think that is the best part of being a Leo - being enthuisatic and fun! Actually Gragham...You're kind of like a triple Leo. Your Moon, though in Capricorn, is in the 5th house, which is traditionally ruled by Leo. Your Moon ruler, Saturn, is also placed in Leo... So yeah, you're like a Super Leo or something! Leos aren't always flamboyant as everyone makes them out to be. I've met more Leos who are sunny and genuinely warm-hearted. They garner attention by not trying to garner attention... They're simply cool people to hang out with. IP: Logged |

Thank you all for the fantastic replies... although it's clear some deeper reading into this subject is required from my part... got a little stumped by all the Houses and their meanings... *grin*For instance, I always thought a conjunct sign worked "against" you in some way... it's pretty interesting to compare it as your "vehicle", or methods, etc... The fact that signs are "hidden" in 12 was news as well... but like the interpretations of the conjunct sign, it's quite spot-on, both the positive and negative influences... Now I know personality is formed by a huge amount of factors (genes, family, youth, education, environment, ...), but it's rather eerie to see how much you can read from a person's sign... especially when adding those extra factors that most folks don't know about. Pretty damn exciting, actually. Only use those powers for Good, folks... IP: Logged |
