Asteroid 100 HEKATE is a large main-belt asteroid. It orbits in the same region of space as the Hygiea asteroid family, though it is actually an unrelated interloper. Its albedo of 0.19 is too high, and it is of the wrong spectral class to be part of the dark carbonaceous Hygiea family.
HEKATE was the 100th asteroid to be discovered, by J. C. Watson on July 11, 1868. It is named after Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft in Greek mythology, but its name also commemorates it as the hundredth asteroid, as hekaton is Greek for 'hundred'.

Mythology of Hekate
Queen of the Night, triple-faced Hekate (heh-KAH-tee) is one of the most ancient images from a pre-Greek stratum of mythology and an original embodiment of the Great Triple Goddess. She is most often linked with the dark of the moon and presides over magic, ritual, prophetic vision, childbirth, death, the underworld, and the secrets of regeneration. Mistress of the crossroads, this lunar goddess dwells in caves, walks the highways at night, makes love on the vast seas, and is the force that moves the moon.

Her three faces reflect the triple extension of her powers over heaven, earth, and underworld, Here in the realm of nature she was honored as Selene, the moon, in heaven; Artemis, the huntress, on earth; and Hekate, the destroyer, in the underworld. In this triad form she had control over birth, life, and death.

HEKATE, due to her associations with death and regeneration, is also an important aspect in Reptilian charts alongwith KAALI and Venus.
________________________________________________

In my chart, HEKATE conjuncts the dark goddess KAALI alongwith TRANSYLVANIA in the 8th house in Pisces.

Where is your HEKATE?

I have known about the goddess Hekate due to my interest in Wicca back in high school but I never delved much in her mythology as my obsession was with Isis. I only discovered this asteroid a few days ago and when I read the description of HEKATE, chills ran down my spine and I got goosebumps on my skin, always a sign, in my case, of re-membering

My Artemis is in 7'25 Gemini R
and so it squares my stationary Circe-Diana-West Point conjunction and East Point
it also opposes my Jupiter in 8'17 Sagittarius

That seems very significant

BTW my progressed KAALI is on 8.01 Gemini exactly squaring natal HEKATE.
Kaali had been retograde at birth and has been on the degree of 8.01 Gemini for 2 years I think.

Kaali turned direct from 5th to 6th march 2009 (my brother`s birthday is the 6th march. lol).

Hekate is retrograde, and moving away from the squares to my Sag planets, and into the exact trine to Venus.
The trine to Venus will be exact on 5th - 6th march 2014.

The conjunction to natal Lilith was exact in april of this year.

DD, Yes.

What do you think of the Pythagorean triangle I have? What does it tell you? Hekate/Stonehenge conjunction is in Taurus in the 10th, Atlantis in Virgo in the 3rd, and Aura is in Aquarius in the 7th. Do you think/feel it's significant?

What is a pythagorean triangle? Trine, quinkunx, square?
Feels VERY significant actually. I think all "closed circuits" are.

DD,

It's also called "Mystical Triangle". There's not much info about it so I don't know how it operates in a chart. Btw, CIRCE is also involved in that triangle, it conjuncts my Aura, exactly.

oh i used to love this Goddess. she is the on that Demeter called upon to find Persephone I believe.. going back to creation myths etc

if Persephone shows where we give up our power does Hectate show how we can get it back or where the negtivity manifests..

I say this bc Persephone is in my 8th/9th house cusp conj pluto i was sexually abused is a child which manifested into a health issue.. where hectate is in retro in sixith/seventh house

My Hekate is at 27"50 Aries

I think I see a fire Grand Trine, if you want to count the Asteroids.

Hekate = 27"50Aries
Mars = 26" 13 Leo
Neptune 28" 54 Sag
Then
Hekate opps Karma at 27"28 Libra

If I throw in other asteroids,I have a pythagorean triangle involving Hekate too

Hekate in 8'32 Capricorn in 4th -
trine Hestia in 7'51 Virgo in 12th - Greek Virginal Goddess of the Hearth
trine East Point in 8'00 Virgo

Babylon in 8'14 Gemini R in 9th square Hestia-East Point conjunction and quincunx Hekate

What's very interesting is that both Hestia and Babylon are in opposition to their geocentric south nodes
Hestia South Node in 7'26 Pisces oppose/conjunct my East Point/West Point axis
Babylon South Node in 8'53 Sagittarius conjunct Jupiter in 8'17 Sagittarius and square East Point/West Point axis

Good to see so many responses to this thread.

DD:
Hecate and Lilith, dark combo

Popcorn:
Same pinch

Starkiss1:
Hi. Hekate conjunct Mars in Scorpio in 8th, hmm, explosive temperament

WL:
I know the mathematical Pythagorean triangle but I'm guessing the hypotenuse would be the trine, dunno about the others

BenedictMoon:
I hear you. The Goddess archetype, infact the whole sacred feminine, is missing from modern society, so yay! for the Goddess

Peri: Hecate conjunct Pandora...you opened any can of worms with your feminist ways yet? Like not wanting to fit a particular stereotype?

Hecate was involved in Persephone's rescue from Hades. I like your interpretation, puppet. Nice work
