I was looking up Neptune/Saturn aspects for synastry charts and I came upon this article.

http://www.throughnightsfire.com/SaturnNeptuneconnections.html

I was very surprised as this is really the only thing I could find on these two planets, yet the article says this contact is a very powerful one.

Thoughts?? Comments?

I think this one is very very important in a DW and in tight orb up to 1 degree. If it's not an DW it's of less importance.

Someone on this site had done a reading for me and concluded that we have a saturn-neptune square (he didn't specify orb) and that it is difficult to handle, it creates a distance it seems.

so I'd been trying to find more on this saturn-neptune link and did stumble upon the article mentioned above. My "relationship" with that person fits the pain, longing, and impossibility that the author describes here. Suddenly I had found the answer to why I was hurting/still hurt so much and why it can't be.

We live in different countries. so DISTANCE LITERALLY. I had met him while working/studying abroad and fell in love at first sight: he was leaving a relationship himself and super depressed at the time. I healed him by my presence and through coming into his life. This saturn-neptune link is a karmic one and we meet the other person after they've gone through a crisis. And he's was deep: he was suicidal.
Anyway, we were together for two years (the length of time that I was there; he didn't want to at first but we both coudn't stay away from each other) but he always said that he would not leave his country again for a relationship (the relationship that he was leaving was with a foreigner and he had gone abroad to make it work then)
We've been apart for four years now and I still want him but he has just entered a serious relationship with someone else who is from his country. and I'm thousands of miles away...
Finally, the neptune person (i think it's me in this relationship) super idealizes the other and will forgive them everything and suffer for it. I wish I'd never met this person at this point because I can't seem to move on yet we still have to be in touch (i always contact him/he always contacts me)

THIS LINK IS REAL! and because of SATURN, it keeps you tied while you want to leave. I say this because we have a daughter together (that I'm raising; it's messed up I know) and even if I wanted to drown myself in alcohol and cut all contacts (which is the only way that I can move on from failed relationship) I CAN'T.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/8219806/Neptune-in-Synastry-and-the-Composite-Chart

This is with out a doubt the best and most detail article I have read about Neptune in synastry and in the Composite.
Its long about 32 pages, but very very detailed..
It really helped my understand Neptune. Well worth the read...

If you want you can just scroll down to the Saturn/Neptune to shorten your read...

Note: If you cant see the article you may have to registry.. But its free so no biggie.

I have heavy Neptune aspects with Pisces, Each other Neptune's really hitting the other.. A lot of DW Neptune

His Neptune is opps my Saturn..

I agree with zarea, seems impossible to let go, but something is in the way, and OMG the fear... badddddd...

I read this link and while verbally it's very dramatic and over the top, the gist of it is true. Two relationships I had both had Saturn in aspect to Neptune; one, the conjunction and the other, the square and the interpretation was pretty similar to how things felt and ultimately played themselves out.

I had no idea Saturn and Neptune could be that big a deal in synastry because they're outers, but it honestly answered a lot of questions.

The article also stresses the importance of tight orbs: like 3 or something as well as contacts in the angle houses: 1st, 4th, 8th...
Finally, venus and saturn have to be in important positions in the personal charts.

I have neptune in my first house. He has saturn, mars, and venus conjunct in his eight house.
In our synastry, his neptune is in my first house. I don't remember where my saturn goes but there's a lot of squares and definitely a venus-saturn square

Actually I have the trine with someone and I'm assessing him for husband/fatherly qualities - at this point LOL

I know that sounds cold - but I have a Capricorn Moon.. I have to assess people.. If this was a job application, he would definitely be at interview stage now

curiouswoman - I'm Neptune (Capricorn) and he is Saturn (Virgo). I can't talk about it right now because I feel like I'm going to jinx it. I haven't told anyone in RL about him either.
I'll post the story later on this year when I'm more sure about what's going on with us. It depends a lot on these next two weeks actually. It could literally go either way and it mostly depends on me.... I'm at a point where I have a choice to leave things as they are and lose him (which practically speaking, I could easily do) -- or to do 'something' that I should've actually done two years ago and that will keep him around in my life, for a long time - That way, I'll have more time to see how well matched we are and whether we can actually have a relationship.

It's just that I have so much work on my plate - and this 'thing' does involve even more work on my part... (not figuratively speaking - not 'emotional' work.. but actual written *work*)
I WANT to do this. I have made a decision that I will do everything I can to -do- it.. and I am partially doing it for him because I DO want to give him and "us" the opportunity to get closer and for something to happen if it is meant to.
But at this point I am still not sure that I will physically be able to do it - because it might be too much for me. So I'll try my best. That's all I can do anyway

About the Liz Green interpretation on scribd.... As usual I find her informative but too slated towards the negative.. and it doesn't really apply. Maybe it's more true for the harsh aspects.

Hi Curiouswoman,

I've been meaning to reply but couldn't find the time as it's been a hectic few weeks work wise. I believe that I am neptune and he's saturn. I idealize him like crazy and am only now learning to put the rose-colored glasses down...The description on that website fits to a T the distance between us, and the interaction from dealing with the love/attraction and reality striking on our door; but he's always been aware of the reality of the distance (him being saturn), it's me (neptune) who has a hard time with it. But I'm finally coming around, I think. As I mentioned, the distance is geographic and there's too much at stake for either of us moving to the other's country both financially, work wise but emotionally...

I have to add though that this has been and continues to be a very uranian relationship as uranus exactly conjuncts the ascendant in the composite chart and is very prominent in both individual charts. Soooooooooo....we're "back together" for the past month though it's nothing official, we're or should I say I'm just enjoying the good without worrying about the bad and not talk about things too deeply to not get it all complicated. But because of uranus and by some twist of fate, he ended the relationship that he was in (which had officially started last July and got me all upset about us...I thought it was really over for us) and we're working things out again...By that I mean that it's a far cry from the conventional relationship with clear expectations but it feels good now...don't where it'll lead but I'm too busy at this point with other things in my life to worry too much or or let my worries (pluto in my chart) prevents any growth...
I don't know if I make sense or if it's useful. But I've learnt a lot from having been apart for four years that now I try not to sweat the small stuffs or force a framework on things. I learnt from Uranus in that sense...it'll just make everything collapse if I start planning...

Saturn person has the ability to be instrumental in structuring the subconscious processes of the generation born when Neptune was in aspect to his/her Saturn.

Capriquarius' quote above makes a lot of sense in terms of the saturn-neptune link the way that i experienced it.

Anyway, I didn't feel like I had to do all the work. As Neptune, I can say that I am more in love with him and with the idea of love whereas as Saturn he's structure...Not necessarily to structure the relationship but to point out that it is not POSSIBLE because of inability to STRUCTURE IT. but when we lived together, it worked well with the give and take. IT's just he was always aware of when it'll end and had/has no problem living with that...but the attraction was/is very strong and so we've always been together despite the distance or break ups. Of course, as with all synastry there's a lot of other things going on in the chart.

The reason that I find the saturn-neptune square important in my case and after reading the article that started this thread is that I'VE TRIED TO END THIS. He's tried to himself. We both can't seem to although I may be the one to be more upfront with my feelings. I can't remember how many times I've deleted his contact info, phone number and emails which would leave me devastated. It sounds all so dramatic I know, but though I have venus in pisces I'm a capricorn sun, mars, and mercury. So dealing with this and feeling that I can't let go has been very difficult. I'm lookng at it lately as an opportunity for growth. At least I don't have the opposition which seems scary...
