New Moon In Libra

October 7, 2010

14:23 Libra Sun and Moon

2:44 pm EDT

11:44 am PDT

There is a New Moon on October 7 that will be profound in EMOTIONALLY reshaping, redirecting and adjusting our desires for our dreams, direction, and future. Venus, ruler of both the Sun and Moon, is stopped dead in the sky, preparing for her retrograde journey which begins the next day. Venus is joined to Mars in Scorpio. Venus is the Ruler Saturn, and is in charge of the Capricorn ascendant in a chart cast for Washington, D.C.. Venus is the Ruler of four Libra planets, Mercury, Saturn, Sun and Moon. Mercury and Saturn are found in the eighth house of Scorpio. Sun and Moon are found in the 9th house of foreigners and foreign journeys. Venus is the highest planet in the chart, joined to the Midheaven with her buddy Mars.

And Most importantly, Venus is stopped, stopped dead in the sky. Venus is stopped dead in the sky in Scorpio, a sign she is not happy in as her passionate nature can get her into troublesome situations. We will be dealing with our passions about things under the Scorpio Venus and in the energy of this lunation.

There is NO FIRE, literally NO FIRE in the sky. And there is very little earth in the sky ~ only Pluto and Node of Destiny. However, Pluto and the Node answer to Scorpio water energy and are placed in the 12th house of water.

All the planets above us are either in Air or Water. Many of the planets answer to passionate Water planets ~ either Venus or Mars in Scorpio. The others answer to boundary free ocean planets ~ Jupiter in Pisces. Lots of feelings, Lots of communications about and around feelings with not any lot of grounding or visions to the support the feelings.

The Moon is fast indicating we will WANT to be making fast emotional decisions that propel us to the next chapter. Venus is stopped indicating we are relatively paralyzed in our ability to get the decisions implemented. Such a conundrum!

The lunation is a bowl shape, asking us to work with others, to find a partner. However, we may not LIKE what the other guy says or does to us as we are all floating in an emotional soup. The ascendant for the Washington, D. C. chart triggers the eclipse from July 11, 2010 while the Pluto/North node midpoint triggers the eclipse from June 26, 2010. You will be working with eclipse energy and the stories from that time too under this lunation.

Essentially, we are doing the emotional processing for all the changes, blocks or decisions that took place last summer. We may have decided to take action and changed things ~ now we are processing the feelings. We may have been blocked from action ~ now we are dealing with the emotions of that blockage. We may have had a new vision of where we wanted to go ~ now we are emotionally in the process of putting it together to actually get there.

So what to do to help with the energy that is so full of soggy, soppy stuff? Light candles. Create a fire in your fire place. Gaze at a bon fire. Change your indoor lighting ~ use higher watt lights to make your space brighter. Sit in the sun, (if it is not raining). Find lights that support and inspire you. If you were an ex-smoker and you picked up again, you REALLY want the FIRE not the cigarette. Light a match.

For the emotional part, think of it as a rip tide. Don’t struggle against it. Float. Swim to the side to escape it. Use music to change your mood and make you feel happier or more content.

It is a good time for more physical exercise to help ground you in your body. Failure to ground yourself may result in overeating or indulging in things that change your body’s state such as sugar, drugs and alcohol to help it escape.

When we are missing energies in the heavens, such as earth and fire, we find they appear in our lives in inappropriate or out of control ways. Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to others ~ particularly your fire sign friends or planets ~ Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The fire folks are trying to light their flames when the wood is soggy and wet ~ no sparks or support for their fire. They need more kindle ~ and drier kindle too! The earth planets can use a break too ~ Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. They are having trouble keeping it together and delivering on their committments.

The chart is particularly profound for the USA as Moon and Sun are on the USA Saturn. It suggest foreigners or aliens will be in the news as well as financial matters. For those of us still waiting for the financial correction, astrologers were split on the timing of between May, early August and Late October/ early November for the major financial collapse/ adjustment. I was in the August school of thought and nothing much happened. We’ll see if the astrologers in the October/ November group are correct. The lunation chart does seem to point to Financial do-overs with the emphasis on Scorpio and other people’s money.

For those of you who like to do a ritual of creation using the New Moon‘s energy, any time between 2:44 pm EDT October 7 and 2:27 pm EDT October 10, 2010 is considered the new Moon. HOWEVER, Venus IS stationing while the Moon is in Libra so things can go a bit AWRY with rituals cast before 3:52 pm EDT October 8, 2010. Planets stationing or changing signs adds an element of unpredictability to the energy. And there is a long void moon on October 8th from 9:38 am to 3:52 pm EDT so the void time is good for SPIRITUAL rituals but not so good for manifesting rituals. Optimal time would be Saturday October 9th between 1:35 pm and 8:06 pm EDT when the Moon joins forces with Venus and Mars respectively.

Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sabian Image for the Libra Sun and Moon is CIRCULAR PATHS

Commentary: ‘Circular Paths’ symbolize a situation where there is a continual coming round back to the same place. It can picture a pattern of going round and round, with no real outcome and no sense of a final destination. In some instances, this can be good, as it can be rather meditative but it can also prove to be a very real waste of time.

Oracle: You may feel as though you are back where you started, like you’ve been through this whole thing before. However, it’s best to consolidate, remember and appreciate the experience and learn what you have gained on your way to where you are now. When you are returning to what appears to be where you started, you always have some level of new experience and new skills. Sometimes life seems to be a continuously repetitive journey and there can be the need to break the chains that bind you. It can feel like a karmic wheel. This theme of ‘Circular Paths’ may be experienced in school, at work or at home where routines can become boring, repetitive and never-ending. Indeed, it can feel like there’s no possibility of escape. But every experience is an opportunity and every opportunity is an experience-no matter how many times it has been done before. That is, unless you’re really losing ground or time is slipping away to complete something. Procrastination can be like treading water or being stuck on these ‘Circular Paths’. Do you keep telling yourself that you’re going to stop one day? Take heart and realize that everything is always in motion and there’s the possibility of stepping off this treadmill when the time is right. If you take the trouble to look at the real details of your experience rather than just experiencing dull repetition, something new and inspiring can always be found.

Realizing mistakes and learning from them. The wheels of progress. Merry-go-rounds. Circular machinery. Mazes and labyrinths. Chaos theory. Learning through repetition. The

Caution: Being lost in abstractions or small details. Losing perspective from going round and round. Addictive cycles that are hard to get rid of. Boredom. Episodes that repeat themselves. Repeating the same actions or mistakes. Treadmills.
