Lonake recommended a book "Astrological Voids" It describes all kinds of "voids" :unaspected planets, lack of a certain element such as earth, lack of something like fire, air etc.It says that empty houses are places where you don't desire the activities of the house very much. In houses with planets, you crave the things of the house like a crazing for cheesecake lol In houses with no planets, you feel kind of stand-offish to the activities of the house. Please ,share info on it. Please, talk about any other "voids", too such as lack of an element(earth, fire, air, water)lack of a quadriplicity(?)--mutable, fixed, cardinal . Please ,describe how it functions in your life in as much detail as you can . Please talk about an unaspected planet, if you have one How does it operate? They are very rare. I did not realize how rare. Thank you

I know we have had threads on unaspected planets ,before. If you could give examples of how it functions such as practical life situations, I would really appreciate it. It helps me picture it--in action lol------------------ Pluto conjunct Dejanira, Girlfriend. IP: Logged |

It IS hard for the person to describe. Perhaps, other people need to see it in us. I am not sure about this.I have no earth and an unaspected Venus. I have a semi -sextile from the moon to Venus. Some astrologers call it unaspected ,some don't. My moon makes one aspect to Mars--an 8 degree conjunction. Some astrologers call that unaspected, too, I think. I will try to describe how these feel ,later. I realize that it is hard, after I asked the question The houses are easy ,though LOL ------------------ Pluto conjunct Dejanira, Girlfriend. Ami Anne, I bought that book many years ago and I've scrutinized it. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me the way the author said it would.I have empty 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th and 12th houses - all those areas are very important to me and I've never taken them for granted. ~ Lana IP: Logged |

I have no planets in my 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 12th houses. I can say I am not very interested by money, maybe by prestige/power but not money, and perhaps that is a reflection of the lack of planets in my 2nd house. And although I have no planets in my 5th house, that is where my true node lies, and it is in Cancer, and I think it has given me a strong desire for children and family. I'm unhappy if I'm not nurturing something/someone. I think all my planets are aspected, so I can't contribute there! IP: Logged |

Lets seeeeee1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 12th don't have planets (placidus houses). I have a singleton earth (Neptune in Capricorn, quite a conundrum). As far as unaspected planets, I think they are more obviously expressed, as opposed to "lost". Like Ami, you have an unaspected Venus. You seem very Venusian to me. quote: If we have an unaspected planet in the horoscope, it is very likely that we aren't really very aware of all the things we do with it and how strongly we bring this planet to expression in daily life. An unaspected planet manifests itself unmistakably though! However, just to clear up a couple of misconceptions right off the bat: an unaspected planet is not weak, not insignificant, and not bad. On the contrary, many people who have achieved extraordinary things turn out to have had help in doing so from an unaspected planet in the horoscope. With unaspected planets, the question is not, therefore, whether we can achieve anything with them, because we definitely can. Instead, the question is how we go about it and how that feels inside.

The empty houses really helped me understand myself. I ,always , felt like a failure cuz I don't care about a lot of things I was told I was "supposed to" I don't really care for my house other than a place to live. As long as I feel safe(Mars and Moon in Cancer) I am happy. I,always, felt I was "bad" cuz I don't really care about many things that woman do ,traditionally lol. My planets are in 6 houses. I have Saturn conjunct the ASC, so the first house. Then,I have Venus in the 7th. I have Sun,Mercury and Moon in the 8th. I have Mars and Uranus in the 9th. Pluto in the 10th. Neptune in the 12th. Where I planets occupied, I really care about that house. It is true for me. ------------------ Pluto conjunct Dejanira, Girlfriend. IP: Logged |

Empty houses means you don't have to worry about their lessons in this life...same goes for unaspected planets. Unaspected planets are particularly strong influences in a natal and when they are activated by synastry or transit, lead to life-changing decisions and events. quote: In houses with planets, you crave the things of the house like a crazing for cheesecake lol In houses with no planets, you feel kind of stand-offish to the activities of the house.
We crave them because our souls need to experience them in order to grow. We feel stand-offish in the latter, because we have already learnt the lessons involved...wouldn't want to repeat a class, would we? However, if we neglect our empty houses, our next round trip will ensure a stellium there with Mars/Saturn/Pluto being likely candidates But lack of an element IS lack of concern for what that element represents ------------------ Kill me once, kill me twice, For all I care, kill me thrice No matter what you do, I will survive, Oh Baby, the cat has nine lives ♥ IP: Logged |

The activities of an empty house could be really important to us.For an empty house, look at where its ruler is located. That shows where that house's activities are expressed in your life. Let's say you have an empty 8th house & your 8th house ruler in your 1st house. In that case, living your 1st house automatically means you will live your 8th. Your 8th is held inside your 1st. YES, Jane, my book goes in to that but I haven't gotten that far. Let me ask you a question. Does it mainly work that way for planets in the first only since the first house is the essential "you" Yes, I have Cap on the 3rd house cusp , Saturn is in the first. Communication is very important to me.
Thank you for that tid bit. I can add that. Does it mainly apply to planets in the first house ,though ? ------------------ Pluto conjunct Dejanira, Girlfriend. IP: Logged |

That's actually very true Jane. For instance, my 2nd house ruler is my Moon which is in my 5th. I use my material possesions as expressions of myself (which is why I like clothes shopping and have started getting into home decorating since I am living away from my parents).IP: Logged |

Ami - quote: Does it mainly work that way for planets in the first only since the first house is the essential "you"
I wondered something similar. My tentative conclusion - No. It works for every house. With the 1st, the house you're bringing to it may transpose itself more purely. The 1st house is pure Self. It's the house closest to a blank canvas in our chart. So whichever house you're bringing there may be very obvious, since its expression is less structured by the 1st than it would be by another house. Examples! Your 3rd house ruler is in your 1st. This shows that simply being who you are includes you communicating. This repeats your Gemini influence. (Since the planet is Saturn, this brings a seriousness and depth to you. Your communication is part of the struggle to find/be yourself. Again, this repeats your Gemini in the 8th house influence.) If your 3rd house ruler were in your 5th house instead, then your 5th house would hold your 3rd. Your creative expression (fiction, drama, poetry, music) would be the way you make sense of the world. The 5th is different from the 1st - it's not so pure and elastic. There's more of a "personality" to it. So your 3rd house influence there may not seem as apparent. Someone looking at you from the outside may simply see an artist. But your *motivation* for that art is your 3rd house self. Living that 5th house would simultaneously make you live your 3rd house. You would *always* feel the 3rd as you did 5th house things. Another example. If I'm remembering correctly, you have your IC ruler in your 9th house? This shows that as you do 9th house things - philosophize, spiritualize, astrolize - you center yourself. You find your home. For other people w/o their IC ruler there, the 9th house world could mean different things. It could be about pure understanding, or understanding other people, or serving their community. But with your 4th house ruler there, doing 9th house things automatically means you're finding your inner sense of home. It's a comfort. It touches your soul. An empty 4th house doesn't at all mean that finding a home is unimportant to you. Instead, its ruler shows where & how you're doing that. I find the placement of the house rulers soooo important. It tells you why that inhabited house is meaningful to the native. It tells you what's happening when they live it. IP: Logged |

amowls -Great example! I know someone with the same astro - empty 2nd with its ruler in the 5th. A way it works for him is that his self-esteem is closely tied up with his humor, creativity, and sex appeal. Criticism/rejection in 5th house matters devastate his self-worth. When he engages in 5th house activities, it's his 2nd house self that's expressing itself. The 2nd is also the house of Talent. He is talented in 5th house areas & works hard to develop his talent there. IP: Logged |
