Maybe your friend could be a clue, how does she mix the Taurus and Libra, can you see the difference, Asc vs. Venus? This could help you out...sometimes it takes practical practice to ferret out where someone's Mars is, Asc, etc.
Maybe just practice reading everyone whose Asc you know and just paying attn to how they use it..you'll see it loud and clear. Asc also tends to come out when we're upset with strangers, so that's a clue. I have Leo rising, and despite Pisces sun/Libra Mars I'll turn arrogant, proud and super stubborn if I feel threatened, and no I'm not trying to go all Leo on em it's just a cover, for protection.
Pay attn too to what planets would fall in his 1st, if any, depending on what sign you're considering, these would be stronger.
This site has options where you can input sun, moon, asc and it will give you a list of people, maybe you can search their pictures, the data is reliable, for the most part, maybe 80%.
Rectification is best, but if you can't do that the most you can hope for is to train your eye and trust your gut

My first thought was Taurus too. I also think Mars in Taurus and Aries for a man.

It's aggravating cause everything mostly adds up to Taurus but then I can't help but get this Leo vibe from him. His Jupiter is in Leo but that's it.

Shoot, don't underestimate the power of Jupiter.
Really.
We access Jupiter when we want to feel happy and alive, when we want to make a strong friendship bond with another.
It has huge importance in the chart, and is usually underestimated in natal & synastry.
Jupiter by nature expands, so the traits of the Jupiter sign will be emphasized, it doesn't have to be angular or in strong aspect.
We access Jupiter to feel good and positive when it seems like everything else is wrong.

If you have something in Leo conj his Jupiter, or in a strong trine, but the conj is most obvious, it will emphasize his Jupiter when he is with you.
