my partner's Solar return chart for the year to come has the SR NN cj. his Natal AC, and SR AC cj. his Natal NN. so it's conjunction DW of AC and NN.

his Natal AC is Capricorn and Natal NN is in Cancer 7th house. SR NN is in the SR 6th house.

could anyone who's good with Solar return chart and Node interpretation explain it to me? thank you thank you!!

ASC/NN double whammy may indicate that he will be working towards his life path goals and make decisions that will result in achieving these goals or making it possible in the future. ASC on NN means he must be assertive when it comes to relationships (not necessarily romantic), obligations and all kind of contracts, emphasis on ASC however does not mean he will have to neglect other people, on the contrary, if he is considerate of others, they will help him in his personal achievements.

i can interpret where the NN in Solar return chart falls on Natal as where the person will/should aspire to for the year? just like Natal NN indicates in Natal chart itself?

I think you should take into account both solar and natal houses, like for example, with solar 1st/natal 6th overlay you can expect problems with health (if there are stressfully aspected planets there)

so for instance, his SR MC falls on his Natal 2nd house, that may indicated his career has an impact on his financial life, right? that makes sense in his case because he's trying to get his career straight so he can make it his main income source. but does it necessarily mean that it will be a "problem", or more like it will be the pattern of focus?
