I was wondering what kinds of aspects and natal positions would possibly lead to food allergies or just pickiness in general?I'm guessing something to do with Virgo and Mercury. I am very picky - and I have Mercury in Virgo, in the 10th. Mercury rules my 8th and 11th houses. ------------------ Leo with Scorpio Rising & Moon in Taurus. IP: Logged |

I actually think it's 6th house and Neptune. Or even 2nd house, since Taurus hold huge sway over the tastebuds. So Venus maybe as well.I would associated all mutable signs with pickiness too lol IP: Logged |

ok but a Taurus influence would create the opposite right? Like someone with strong Taurus would be more of a food connoissieur or something of the like.IP: Logged |

I've found the Taurus influence LOVES GOOD food but is also very scent and flavor sensitive. I have a Taurus rising and Mars so I do relate to pickiness.I think mercurial influence for food can might make someone open to trying a lot of different things according to their mood. IP: Logged |

If Taurus and 6th house influences someone's score on the 'pickiness to food riskiness scale' how about food allergies? Anyone have any? What would cause that?afflictions to 6th house ruler? IP: Logged |

I dunno, the same person with the 6th house Neptune also had all kinds of allergies and a very sensitive system....maybe look at the 6th and the ruler of it....I'm looking at my own chart and I have a 6th house Libra stellium but I will eat anything raw if I can (fish, meat, etc lol) so health risks don't bother me. 2nd house ruler? Maybe look at that? I'm just taking wild stabs here :P IP: Logged |

Virgo & Cancer for digestion, Neptune for the allergen or offending food and Mars for inflammation. I think food allergies/sensitivities are a synthesis of Moon/Mars/Neptune and 6th house (house of health issues/digestion) and related signatures. IP: Logged |

I would look to the moon placement. And I would agree that Virgo would be a candidate but I have a Virgo Moon and I am certainly not picky when I'm hungry enough....atleast not as badly as my sister. Oh no wait, I am very particular about the way my food is served. I don't think certain foods go together, like rice with sweet sugary sauces. My mother, for the bazillionth time, put the sweet and sour chicken on my rice when she went out to get take-out. ARRRRRRRRGH.
Sorry for mini-rant...carry on. IP: Logged |

Your mom's also an Aqua moon, right? I dunno, I think because Aqua is more Universal and Virgo is particular, there's always going to be a clash. My mom assumes because my sister would eat it, I would too. As if all three of us have the same taste buds...LOL. And whats more annoying is that she would be seriously annoyed if we made a similar mistake. Oh Lord, I remember the time that we got the regular pepper chicken for her instead of the spicy one..... lol I like to keep my food seperated on my plate too!So this is interesting...I'm still trying to analyze this. I'm looking at my chart and another one and trying to see some of this stuff...looking for bad aspects to the 6th house ruler, looking at aspects to the Moon etc. I don't have any food allergies by the way, but I am picky. Venus in Virgo is classic for pickiness in food, I think. My best friend has this and he is super picky with food. He can't help it. It is part of him lol------------------ Pluto conjunct Dejanira, Girlfriend. IP: Logged |

BM, no she's Aqua rising and sun, Cappy moon lol But her sun is RIGHT in the first....oh yeah! It's all right there in the open LOLMy Aqua boyfriend is also super picky with food and his Taurus rising and Mars seems put off by certain textures. Oysters disgust him. I love playing with their flesh lol IP: Logged |

I'm allergic to tons of things... chocolate, coffee, tea, nuts, seafood, wheat, soy, some fruits, a lot of environmental stuff...etc etc etc... blah blah blah. Yellow #5, Red 40, list goes on... Sun, Neptune and Merc (ruler of chart) in the 6th house (Saggie), Pluto rules my 6th... EDIT: ALSO, I was born 2 1/2 months early. I'm immune to the chicken pox, measles, mumps and all hepatitis' as well. I never get sick... I just have sinus infections. I'm super picky, don't like any of my food touching each other (have gotten better tho) and I eat one thing at a time. I'm high maintenance with food! IP: Logged |

The texture thing is interesting, BM, and it's true for me too i think. For me it's give or take because for years I couldn't eat my grandmother's stuffed cabbage since I thought cabbage looked like a large, damp moth's wings O____oBut sashimi and oysters...raw stuff for some reason is what I can't get enough of. Admittedly, I was raised eating raw sea urchin and oysters when I was young, sea urchin from the Red Sea that we caught and opened with little knives, squeezed lemon over it then sluuuurp (hehe, are you getting grossed out yet?? ). The oysters in Kuwait when i was young always had little pearls in them and we had to be careful to not just swallow them. So there was all this 'exploration' that had to be done first I remember my mom had a little container for all the pearls and she kept it in her ornate jewelry box. So I wonder if maybe part of my loving raw foods like that is some serious nostalgia lol Plus I was eating sushi at a VERY young age, and we ate it like once a week. That's gotta have something to do with it....must be. Maybe even childhood stuff can influence tastes? I would think so? The moon stuff makes sense, but would we go so far as checking the 4th house and its rulers since it's a 'moon' house as well? IP: Logged |

I'm allergic to peanuts, eggs, shrimp, actually lots of seafood, like lobster, oysters, crabs etc. I can eat fish though, but I don't like it much. It gets annoying 'cause I have to go through the ingredients if I start eating something new. Odd thing is, I CAN eat eggs if it's boiled in it's shell. I can't touch it if it's fried or baked. My Merc is in Sagittarius Rx in the 2nd house. Merc rules my 3rd house. IP: Logged |

I think you may be on to something with the IC and Ruler. I prefer warm/hot food over cold, and spicy food especially. I thought maybe it was the Cancerian need for comfort but I have an Arien IC with Mars in Aries...thats probably the fire need for things to be HOT. I don't mind most seafood at all (even sushi), in fact I prefer it over 'land' food sometimes. Its just for some reason that the oysters and crab meat get to me....*shivers*. IP: Logged |
