I don't want to spoil Ami's Nessus/Dejanaira thread with this.. so I'm going on here. The Duke said:
quote: just the same, all other things were blended wonderfully together but it didn't work out (their south node conj my saturn.. usually, even w north node, saturn/node relationships never work out) so i knoooooow what you mean that there's something just there..you may even enjoy them very much but at the same time, you're looking over your shoulder out the window wondering what else is out there
That's exactly how it was for me. I had this in my two longest and most significant *relationships*;
1st) His Saturn conjunct my NN (2*) 2nd) His Saturn conjunct my SN (2*) What is your experience with these aspects?
Could this be the same story for a Nodal/Saturn contact in the Composite chart?

I don`t share this experience.My mum`s Saturn is exactly conjunct my dad`s SN, and they have been married for 36+ years now, without showing any intention of splitting up. Of course it depends on what else is there in a chart.

Like DD said all things must be considered. I have to say that when a planet is conjunct the SN or NN and it rules the persons 1st or 7th house it's a VERY VERY strong attraction.

i'd be kinda curious to find out what else was under aspect by their saturn because that alone never works out. quote: My mum`s Saturn is exactly conjunct my dad`s SN, and they have been married for 36+ years now, without showing any intention of splitting up.

Duke,they have some very good and some bad aspects (relating to traditional astrology); that is why I said the effects need to be seen in the context of the whole chart, and also in relation to each person`s natal. And that is why I can`t buy a statement like one aspect "never" or "always" works out. My parents have among other aspects:
His Sun square her Sun his Moon opposite her Sun his Uranus square her Moon (though it is kinda wide at 3-4 degrees) his Venus and Jupiter square her Mercury his Mercury trine her Venus his Mars conjunct her Saturn (exact) his Saturn conjunct her Mars (4 degrees) his ASC and Saturn conjunct her Venus exact I think the Venus-ASC, as well as the Sun-Moon-aspect contribute to their attraction; the Saturn aspects are indicative for the longevity; the Mercury-aspects, though partly tensed, indicate their ongoing communications; the squares and Sun-Sun-tension illustrate their temperemental differences as well as the constant nagging and teasing (it`s some kind of game between them).

I think, in relationships where people are ready to be mature and committed, NN-Saturn conjunctions can be really great, connecting the relationship to the node person's lifepath, and in turn gratifying the Saturn person.And--it's not just the emotional/psychological/spiritual maturity of the people involved. I think chronological age also matters. In the synastries I've looked at, node-Saturn dynamics work better in relationships between older people, 40+...they aren't as right for younger, pre-Saturn-return relationships. Also in the synastries I've looked at--I don't think node aspects are significant other than conjunction/opposition. IP: Logged |

Thanks Lucia. That's an interesting perspective which I hadn't thought of and yes, I can confirm from personal experience.IP: Logged |

Lucia, interesting perspective on N.N/saturn. After my second devorcing I checked out the chart to the men I felt attracted to. I was always surprised to that the strongest attraction always has an S.N/saturn conj or N.N/saturn conj. I think I should include this to an very strong attraction aspect.IP: Logged |
