We're planning on getting married next year. I would like some advice on how we can work on the weak areas in the relationship.

Thank you very much!

I glanced at this late last night. I was wondering if you gave him an ultimatum to get married?

Hi Diana,

It was his idea to get married next year. We're very much in love and he has popped the question a few times. I had some reservations before but I think I'm ready to settle down now and have children with him. Do you see an issue in the chart? If so, what can I do to "solve" the problems that we might potentially face in the long run.

Thanks,
f

edit: This will be my second marriage so I'm proceeding with some caution.

you two have nn in the 1st are you sure marriage is the right idea in your lives? nn in libra in the 1st, it will take him a long time to find the 'right' relationship.

He has a heavier emotional life than you do--that Sun-Saturn in fixed fire, and Venus in Cancer (which can get kind of needy.)

For you: You are so mutable, I would guess you tend towards anxiety and uncertainty. One thing you can work on is not flitting away when he needs you. Focus on the Big Picture--of what you like and love about him, and the vision you share for your future. You really have to work on this--on not getting lost in daily minutae or your concerns of the moment. Sever contact with people who bring you down, and strengthen the private bond between the two of you. Enjoy the spirtitual side of your bond.

For both of you: Make sure to keep doing the things that work--lots of conversation. See stimulating works of art, music, movies, plays...take little trips. Make sure to keep your sex life alive, even on hard days.

First of all, thank you both for your advice.

AquariusMoon: To be honest, I am actually a bit afraid of "getting married", even though I already FEEL married to him. In fact, I feel more married to him than my ex, whom I've known for over a decade and married to for 7 years. Having said that, I don't think marriage is necessary, but it's good if both parties decide that they want children together.

As for him, he was previously in a relationship for 9 years (engaged for 5) before it ran its course. He says he feels that I am the "right" one for him and that he can't wait to start a family with me. He's 33 and I'm 29.

Lucia23: He tends to be sensitive (I have no issue with that being a pisces moon) and tears easily when he's happy or sad. He says he's never been like that before - I wonder what in our synastry triggers that? (moon opp moon?) The one thing that bothers me now is the potential of his work coming in between us, 7-10 years down the road. I can foresee him being very busy with his career and having to travel quite often. I fear I may become resentful if I'm expected to focus on family while he spends all his time on work.

hi fiona...that sounds very nice, its always nice to find a partner that has had experience in relationships, relationships are very a maturing experience. i know several nn in the 1st people and it takes them a handful of serious long term relationships before they find the right one for some reason. one thing i noticed (NN 1st people) is that all their relatoinship go one too long, because they get too comfortable and complacent (7th SN). good luck...its good you waited after your Saturn Return, I am going through that myself at the moment ;-).
