there's something that's bothering me.when i go online to do synastys i tend to get mixed results and some of them don't seem right. FOR EXAMPLE: one said that that our pluto socrpio and juno aquarius made a TRINE. this doesn't seem right. is it possible to automoaticaly know the results. FOR EXAMPLE: IF i know that i have a gemini mars and he has a capricorn venus, is it possible to right away conclude that that's a square of w/e. IF SO, HOW? hope that made sense

aspcets with cap and gemini wouldnt square....but to answer your question, you look at the degrees on the planets to figure out the orbs------------------ the better the chase, the better the reward IP: Logged |

you look at the degrees on the planets, for example, my sun is at 27 degrees scorpio, my moon is at 24 leo, so they square, square has to make a 90 degree angle...my sun and moon are 4 signs away so that helps me to know they could make a square, a sextile would be 3 planets away, opposite are directly opposite on the natal and so on------------------ the better the chase, the better the reward IP: Logged |

if they are right next to each other they are conjucnt, and if they are five signs away they trine, but they have to be within a certain orb...to get the orb you look at the degree and subjract them... my sun is 27 and my moon is at 24, so they have a 5 orba conjunction is within a 10 orb sextile makes a 60 degree angle and is within 4 orb square makes a 90 degree angle and is between a 5 to 10 orb trine makes a 120 degree angle and is within a 4 orb and opposite makes a 180 degree angle and is within a 5 to 10 orb i find it easier to just look at the natals ------------------ the better the chase, the better the reward IP: Logged |

1 sign away = semisextile 2 sign away = sextile 3 sign away = square 4 sign away = trine 5 sign away = quinquinx 6 sign away = oppoistionThe planets need to be with in a certain degree of the other for it to be considered. example leo sun at 16 square a 20scoprio sun at this is sun square sun. but not if the scoprio sun was say at 2Scorpio then the suns have no aspect to each other. me again. the reason i asked is cuz i thought semisextile was a positive aspect to have. but signs right next to eachother tend to have difficulties due to differences...IS IT A POSITIVE ASPECT, or did i assume wrong????

Justwanttruelove,If you're a beginner, stop looking at SEMI-sextiles and asteroids. You should be learning about: 1. The Signs and Houses 2. Sun & Moon 3. Planets 4. Ascendant and Midheaven 5. Ascpects starting with: *Conjunctions *Squares *Oppositions *Trines *Sextiles Those aspects are in order of strength and active tension that yield results both positive and negative. There is no good or bad in astrology, only levels of tension and tension yields action. You will get nothing out of learning about Semi-sextiles until you are about an intermediate or advanced astrologer. I'm an advanced professional astrologer and I never use them because they yield no action, they are a complete waste of time for me. Good luck to you.

I know the likely answer here. If the Scorpio placement is in the early degrees, and the Aquarius placement is in the very last degrees, they can be considered a trine. There's two ways you can look at it. Either you can notice that Pisces is the sign after Aquarius. If that Aquarius placement were over the line into Pisces it would be a trine you wouldn't think about. The other way is to look at Libra being before Scorpio. If the Scorpio placement were a few degrees earlier it would be in Libra. My Sun and Moon are both in Earth signs, which suggests a trine if anything. They're square, because my Sun is at the start of Capricorn, and my Moon is at the last degree of Virgo. IP: Logged |

What helped me was looking at my own chart on astro and looking at the key and then googling each term.anyway this might help: Conjunctions: same sign Sextile: same gender/complimentary element (masculine/feminine, fire & air are complimentary, earth & water are complimentary) Square: same mode (cardinal/fixed/mutable) Trine: same element (fire/earth/air/water) Opposition: the sign directly opposite (also same gender) Should help to google modes, elements and genders. Note: There are out of sign aspects, like someone stated before. Like, say you have Venus at 0 Capricorn and Mars at 29 Virgo. That would be a square, not a trine, even though Virgo and Capricorn are the same element. They are square because they are almost 90 degrees away from each other. IP: Logged |
