I'm in the process ofo checking out the synastry between myself and a guy I recently met. I was shocked to see that his ascendant is conjunct my own...we certainly do get on well I'm just picking out the major aspects that we share between the personal planets/points and listing them, Can anyone give me any advice here, should I leave him well alone or is there anything there to work with?

Me Him Aspect
Asc Vir 8 Asc Vir 13 Conj
Sun Lib 27 Moon Lib 23 Conj
Ven Lib 4 Mars Gem 0 Trine
Mars Vir 25 Ven Sag 29 Square
Mars Vir 25 Mars Gem 0 Trine
Sun Lib 27 Ven Sag 29 Sextile
Moon Cap 17 Moon Lib 23 Square
Merc Scor 13 Merc Cap 9 Sextile
Ven Lib Merc Cap 9 Square
Ven Lib Ven Sag 29 Square
Mc Gem 0 Mars Gem 0 Conj

We do have other aspects of course but im curious about the ascendants conjunct and the sun moon conjunction aswell....

Hi,

Me and my "Karma", we have the same Ascendant: 13 degrees of Libra.
We are not together because of my problems.

There are also two famous couples with the same Ascendant:

1. Prince Edward Windsor
and his great love
Wallis Simpson - both Ascendant Aquarius.

2. Prince Charles Windsor
and his great love
Camilla - both Ascendant: Leo.

I actually think this is a great dynamic to strengthen a relationship. Far from making you too similar (that would be if you had Sun-Sun and Moon-Moon--even then, I don't really believe in "too similar"), it means that you have similar EXPERIENCES at the same time, with those house overlays. When Mars is transiting your 7th house, it's transiting your 7th too...you would probably share the experience of passion and falling in love at that time. When you're preoccupied with work, he's probably preoccupied with work too. Eclipses hit you both in the same house.

I haven't looked at your synastry, but I believe this aspect alone is a nice dynamic. I also think that any tight angle-angle, planet-angle, or node-angle conjunctions are strengthening aspects in a synastry.

Which is more likely to be a stronger influence here? The ascendant/ascendant conjunction or the sun/moon conjunction? Does it matter that its my sun and his moon??

Sun/Moon conjunction is one of the strongest aspects in Synastry. Maybe is stronger than the same Ascendant. To have both of them is special strong.

Of course there should be also other good aspects, first of all good Saturn aspects, because Saturn holds people together.

About the same events with the same Ascendant:
As I came again in contact with my “Karma” (husband from Past life) he wrote me a letter, as a first. He wrote what happened in what year: important things happened to me in the same years but in my case were not the same events.

I collect the Synastry Charts from famous people. Here are two couples, I wrote:

Wallis and Edward Windsor:

Camilla and Charles Windsor:

Now, we can see that Charles and Camilla have exact Ascendant conjunction.

I had all angles and houses conjunct with the same ascendant as my cancerian therapist. NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. And he was the most clueless mama's boy in the world.

My daughter and her boyfriend have the same Asc, they are exactly conjunct at the same degree.

Both of them had been single for barely more than one week when they met having both just broken up with serious relationships. Naturally my cynical self thought my scotch and coke I was drinking at the time would last longer than this ‘rebound’ relationship but it’s been a couple of years now and they are still going strong.

Like Lucia mentioned, they have similar experiences at the same time. It seems like a really nice aspect to have and I wouldn’t turn away from a possible relationship because of it – experience it first then make up your mind.

A relationship where both have the same ASC is good because of each sign on the same house as each other. The set up of this outer layer means you can be matched in the external/aesthetic area's of life.

The main planets in relation are excellent. As Virgo rises, Neptune doesn't move too far away from each other. With each persons 7th rulers (Neptune) conjunct, both 1st ruler (Mercury) placements very near 7th ruler Neptune. This can mean what you both want from a relationship is matched.

The sexual aspects, house ruler 1 and 8, are not the best. 8th rulers in aspect to each other by sextile is fine - your sexual preferences are matched very well. What is not matched is the placements of both Mercury points to each others Mars. This link is the physical body/sexual drive match. This can mean you might not find each others bodies sexually attractive enough, or there are some awkward moments during sex. No need to comment on bodily size difference please.

Seems a great example of compatability.

p.s. go as the planet representing the house in question. So, instead of looking at Venus ruling relationships, you look at Venus representing both house 2 (Libra on second of your chart) and house 9 (Taurus on ninth house)

Work from the outside in, not the outside out, if that makes any sense.

I love the asc/asc conjunction.
It's more rare than the Sun conj Moon aspect, so I'd put importance on it for that reason.

To have both is quite significant.

Any strong conj or opposition between Sun/Moon/Asc is typically exceptional. Natal aspects come into play here, but if you have at least one of these it's major. More than one is rare, and if the 2 involved have more than one of these in their synastry they're likely to say theyve never met anyone like this before, thus acknowledging the rarity and specialness of the contact, no matter how lasting or if there even is a relationship, the recognition of the self in the other is significant, it's a mirror.

I have many girlfriends with the same ASC. as me, but I seem to gravitate more towards Sun conjunct ASC. in Leo with romantic realtionships.

I love having friends with Sag. ASC. like myself, you can be sponteanous and no planning required we just enjoy ourselves in the spirit of Sag.! So I'd say ASC.-ASC. conjunction is better for friendship than relationships. But it would make sense when your younger to gravitate towards someone like yourself...

I have a dear Cancerian friend who has Gem rising - same as me and we get along fine. Her Mercury is conj my moon and my mer sexteiles her sun. She is the best sounding board that I have in my life and we are on the same wave length.

I have introduced her to astrology and she is excitied and curious about what she reads.....

I know a few more Gem risers too but they seem different than me.

Here are:

Sun opposition Sun
Sun opposition Moon.

Oppositions (of good planets, like the Moon, the Sun and Venus) mean attraction between two people.
