Im wondering how all of you feel about the use of the minor aspects in synastry. If a minor aspect between two peoples personal planets/points are exact to the degree surely this should or could be as important as a major aspect that is a few degrees away from exact?Im taking about quintiles, bi-quintiles, semi squares and seesquares, I already see the quincux as a major aspect although most people don't. I was going through the synastry chart yesterday of a couple who I am friends with who fell in love almost immeadiately four years ago when they met...they are very different people and yet are engaged and getting married next year. They have NO significant major aspects between the charts that would show romantic compatibility or so called great synastry. I did however notice a 0 degree quintile between his venus and her moon and also a 0 degree bi quintile between her venus and his mars...could these be at play in their synastry??

Yes, i think it can happen, to have a strong influence because it's 0 degrees. I think every aspect can get to be important under specific circumstances.IP: Logged |

I wish you would put up their synastry chart. It all depends on what kind of minor aspects they have. Quintiles, bi-quintiles and semi-sextiles are not going to do anything. I'd look at Quindeciles (165 degrees) Sesquiquadrates and semi-squares, but these are not strong enough to suggest engagement. It may not even be a matter of romantic planets, it could be a sense of stability suggested by strong Saturn contacts, and most important, it's about who these people are individually and if they are filling each others needs (Moon aspects) then that's enough to make them feel like marriage material without a hint of romantic feeling or even sexual feeling. I would not think so. Mostly because a minor aspect would have to be exact to be counted as a minor aspect, anyway.IP: Logged |

Yes (from experience with my own natal chart, and my friends', the tightest aspect is always the one felt most strongly.)IP: Logged |
