Hey everyone,

I am trying to learn about horary astrology and I know you aren't supposed to read the chart if certain "strictures against judgment" are present in the chart. OK. I accept that.

But would it be fair to say that if certain strictures exist in a chart for that query, could it be interpreted negatively, or does it just completely mean the situation is now unreadable for whatever reason? i.e: meaning not good or bad, just neutral, unable to say?

It's funny, because I find that right now the situation IS pretty unreadable, haha! probably why I tried to cast a chart for it.

The chart I cast has the Moon in the via combusta as well as Saturn in the 1st house. I can't help thinking the Moon in the via combusta must be bad, bad, baaaddddd

Let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I guess what I'm really asking is in a chart that shows such strictures, should I be analyzing anything in it as pertaining to the question at hand, or should I just discard/disregard it completely because it is ther answers just aren't there, is what I'm asking?

While traditionally strictures tend to be upheld, I've noticed a lot of modern astrologers feel that every chart has the potential to be read - although the early and late degrees of the ascendant are very telling, and that itself tends to play out in the chart.

"Restrictions concerning the Moon were used to assess how many chances of success the question has, and to understand whether the querent waa asking a genuine question, or if his intentions are insincere. If the Moon is void of course it is likely that there would be no evolution in the question. This placement of the Moon does not restrict the reading of the chart, rather it was used to indicate the existence of obstacles so strong as to preclude any favorable outcome, unless both significators had very strong dignities. According to William Lilly, whenever the Moon is in Taurus, Cancer, Sagittarius or Pisces it behaves as void of course. Other unfortunate placements of the Moon are it its lying in the via combusta or in the last degrees of a sign, as the last degrees of all signs are the terms either of Mars or of Saturn. Furthermore if the Moon casts an hard aspect to the lord of the seventh house, the querent is not asking a genuine question."

I think you'll find most people will take a look at the chart anyway, why not post it?

Please disregard... I just posted the chart, and ONLY THEN did I realize I had been reading my progressed chart earlier and the chart I cast was a PROGRESSED CHART for someone born at 10 something pm tonight!!! DOOOHHHHH!!!

*slaps self*

lol.

I'm going to draw up a new chart, post it... offer my thoughts and welcome any of yours, hahahaha.

My question is still valid! I still care about whether I should read a chart filled with strictures or what

Of course, my question is a little retarded and a very common one in these parts. I have a crush on a co-worker and I think he likes me, but I'm not sure.

I feel like I a big kid with one of those paper square puppet things going "he likes me, he doesn't like me, he likes me..."... LOL.

Be back in a tic.

So the chart isn't that different, as the date I was using for progressions wasn't that far ahead --

Anyhow, here it is!

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

A little background on it...well, I don't know how much you need. You know what, forget the background, just tell me what you think. Thanks!

Well I'm far from being professional at this but these are just my quick impressions

As the ascendant is in Virgo and you're a woman, you'll be represented by both the Moon and Mercury. You, the moon, are in Venus' sign (although it traditionally rules Taurus and that's important in horary), which confirms you have strong feelings for him. Have you liked him for over a year? It gives me a long term vibe.

You're in a good place right now. Your emotions and intellect are well in tune together, and this isn't something irrational on your part. You've been really responsible about this. The square between the Sun and Saturn is giving me the impression he carried some unhealthy patterns with him that he may have picked up from childhood. Otherwise he comes off as a self assured person. Was there a confrontation between you guys and you handled yourself well in it, and now he respects you for it? (Moon square Mars/Venus sextile Mars)

This is my totally amateur opinion, but I get the impression he likes you based on this chart, but you'll probably change your mind about him later given Mercury is retrograde and makes hard aspects to Jupiter and Uranus in the 7th. Maybe he'll fall out of favor in your eyes?

Saturn in the 1st "represents delays in regard to the matter and additional responsibility", although it is exalted in Libra - it squares his sun and conjuncts your moon. You're going to be fine at the end of all this and come off as the honorable one so long as you stay true to yourself (it's a separating conjunction, not applying).

Aren't you supposed to post the Regi-sumthin' chart, for horary? (No, I don't know all the names.) Isn't that what Geocosmic keeps saying?

Regiomontanus is a house system, not a chart. The default house system on astro is Placidus.

Since this is a first house/7th house question, it's not going to make much of a difference.

Wow JFK, thank you! You know, there wasn't anything at all that you said that has come to pass that wasn't accurate, I am impressed. I guess only the length of time I've felt his way -- I only met him at the beginning of October and I didn't like him straight away, you were right, there was a bit of anti-attraction going there.

To explain, he's my co-worker, we're both trainers at a gym. He's ridiculously good-looking and I prejudged him based on that (shame on me). Every other gym I've worked at, the realy good-looking male trainers have these twisted, flirty (and sometimes sexual) relationships with their gaggle of female clients and, if the gym has regular members, usually them, too. So I started working there and immediately though "OOOHHHH, YOU ARE THAT GUY"... and I decided I wouldn't pay him any attention whatsoever, aside from the normal niceties of hello and goodbye.

But as the weeks passed by, I started to realize... wait... he doesn't flirt with ANYONE and he's this incredible athlete and he seems really kind and humble and serious. Not a jerk at all. This is where my crush started to develop, haha.

I still haven't observed him doing ANYTHING jerky or sleazy at all, ever. Not even making an untoward, sleazy off the cuff comment amongst other male trainers (which is common). But maybe he's just watching his mouth because I'm there? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe he's just respectful.

The other problem is that I am REALLY nervous around him, but I have made an effort to be more friendly and relaxed and that has subsided for me. He is very friendly with everyone else, including other female trainers that started just this month, but always nervous around me too. So I think that must mean he really dislikes me, or likes me a lot, haha... probably not neutral! I'm certain he doesn't dislike me though, heheh.

We were VERY reserved around one another the first month I worked there, and I think thats where you pick up that we had a clash of some sort initially.

I think its very telling that whenever other people are around (like at the Christmas parties, lol) we completely ignore each other. I do it because I feel like EVERYONE CAN TELL that I like him, lol. So I don't talk to him. Its too much pressure with a possible audience. But whenever we're alone, we do talk and there is a special tone in both of our voices with pregnant pauses and flushed faces and wide, wide warm but somewhat shy smiles, lol.

I've tried to pull back a little in the last week or so, because I don't want to project all these qualities onto him and fantasies about who he is and what he's about, when I don't really know him outside of the gym at all.

Plus he's my co-worker. We are both very good at our jobs and not going anywhere... there is a lot of turn over in our industry, but we are both "veterans" and good at what we do. Pretty safe bet that he'll be around for at least another year or two and so will I, at this facility anyway. So I don't want to make a mess and make things awkward

Thanks so much for your help, I'm going to re-read your analysis and think about the chart some more myself
