Saaportas says that an emotionally healthy person will lead with their Sun sign.
The other planets will have lesser importance or dominance in their personal expression of themselves.
I am getting that now as I get more emotionally healthy.
How do you feel about this?

I guess the simple way to ask this question is "Which sign do you think expresses you the most?"
For me ,now, it is starting to become Gemini,my Sun.
Prior to this it was Cancer, my moon.

To me, Gemini has many positive traits .I don't think I have many of the negative ones cuz a Cancer moon balances out the superficial nature of Gemini.
Also,My Gem Sun ,Gem Mercury and Cancer moon are in the 8th house, again lessening the superficiality of a typical Gemini.

I feel most comfortable and most "me" when I am expressing Gemini traits such as being outgoing , social and curious.

I knew someone who had the Sun in 12th house Pisces. The solar energy was incredibly weak in him. Not sure how relevent this reply is. But food for thought. Mind you he also had Moon conjunct Saturn in Cancer in the 4th - OUCH!

Yes, that would be an Ouch, A_L_ F. Throw in a little Nessus and Chiron and he should hide under the bed and forget about it

Since I have Sun,Moon,Mercury,Mars in Leo its hard to say what my Sun actually is..

I think I feel my Venus in Cancer the most.. I feel it overpowers the leo.. But at the same time its hidden inside a circle of fire.. Meaning basically someone has to break through the fire to see the venus side of me.

You know what is funny,Lioness.
We have talked on the phone.I was SO surprised cuz you seem very Leo on here.
However,on the phone, I felt the Cancer, strongly, the most strongly of any part of you,in fact.

Yeah I dont act very Leo.. I was a mess that day, so the venus was in the front and out in the open.
Most people see that Pisces asc, quite shy.. Which really isnt true, boy are they surprised when they get to know me and then they do see all that fire...

Happy 2011!

I am a Leo sun Gemini Asc moon, Mercury and Venus all in Cancer.
The Leo comes out, when it's needed (assertiveness, protectiveness) but for the most part, I feel very Cancery and Gemini-ish.

I do have damaged self esteem due to a f-cked up childhood and a couple of abusive relationships so not sure if that may be why.

I am healing very nicely, I think turning 30 had something to do with it

I rarely ever relate to being a Taurus, despite having my Sun, Mercury, and Psyche there. I've always felt my Scorpio Pluto and Aquarius Moon overpowered most aspects of my personality, although now that my Venus has progressed into Taurus.. I do find myself completely softening (in a good way) on that front.

Most of my childhood people thought I was gemini or pisces (my draconic ascendant and moon). It's only recently people have thought I'm a sag. People don't always see it because I'm very very cold and or depressed at times, but it's usually what they guess without much thought. It's kind of obvious given what I talk about and how I view things (I'm sure leo asc and 5th house sun helps with that). I also act really bubbly, am extremely extraverted, and like everyone when the mood strikes me. I then feel possessed to make everyone equally as happy until steam runs out.

Growing up, I was a great example of the typical Virgo (i.e. people pleaser who rarely said no to anyone). After I graduated from my private Christian high school and began college, my Jupiter in Aquarius relished in my newfound freedom and the Leo and Taurus traits started coming out. I grew a backbone and started opening up more to other people. I also stopped taking myself so seriously and learned how to enjoy the finer things in life. =)

I am Always. Do I sound to u guys like leo? People like to say to me i should be in books under leo signs what a compliment! But,my asc and are also strong, along with few aspects. My asc next year progresses into scorpio. We'll see what's that bringing me. I find sun extremely important, but i can't separate it from asc and moon.

I have a Virgo Sun, but I don't think I 'lead' with it, except in professional situations (10th house conjuncting MC).

If anything, I think I come across more like my Aries Moon, and I'm OK with that. The Moon is the handle of the bucket in my chart and Mars is immensely powerful in my chart anyway.

Knowing the reputation that Virgos have anyway I'm quite glad that, on the whole, I don't come across as one.

I can hardly express my Scorpio Sun at all. I come across as a Virgo (moon) most of the time. Sometimes I act like a Gemini (asc) or a Libra (venus), depending on the situation. I think I'm scared of my own intensity, if that makes sense, so my Scorpio energy is kept buried deep inside.

Hmm.. I do identify with my moon (Sag), but I've always identified strongly with my Sun Gemini. I have Gemini Sun, Merc, Venus, and Jupiter. I don't really agree with the whole bad stereotypes of Gemini - Linda really wrote us the best that I've seen so far. Because some people reduce us to loudmouth spacey idiots who can't keep it in our pants. LOL But while I am flighty and I can be a bit superficial (not my mind, but just how I interact with people) I've learned to embrace that. I think everyone has this idea of how life should be lived which is dictated by many things - religion, society, culture, but everyone has to make their own way and style and I think embracing that life - living how you truly want to - is the key to happiness.

it's a little harder for me to judge because i have a Sagittarius Sun and also the Ascendant and a Stellium there. and it is true, i genuinely feel that i am THE ARCHER through and through.

but unfortunately, my Jupiter, my ruler of course, is in Cancer, opposing the Sun!!! although it is said that having Jupiter in Cancer is lucky, and i think i agree, i think my emotions (Cancer) really over-weighs my personality, at least for a couple of decades now. it's in a constant struggle with the Stellium 1st house.

i should make it my new year's resolution. "live by my Sun"!! i will be the most successful, healthiest and at my best. i just know it.

I have Sun in Scorpio

but I seemed to be very Piscean throughout my childhood, teenage years as well as even my adult years
my special education years in early childhood were very Piscean indeed as I was like a fish out of water. It was swimming that was something that I enjoyed and was very good at during the special education.
My special education experiences fit with many of the negative Pisces characteristics. My special education teachers/therapists fit with many of the positive Pisces characteristics. These were people that truly shaped my life and helped me to function almost like a normal person.

I do have Moon in Pisces that trines my Sun with 2'10 orb. That can be my expressing and identifying with my Pisces traits.

When I think from an alternative perspective, I have to consider that my Sun is in Libra in Sidereal Zodiac and in Virgo in the Constellation Zodiac.
Do I have Libra Aspects from the perspective of completion of Karma
Do I have Virgo traits too? Virgo traits would be different. Virgo is the agricultural archetype. It was thought to be Demeter,Greek Goddess of the Harvest. With Sun in Virgo constellation, I'd have traits that do with the goddess of the harvest - this could be the emphasis on nurturing, service. It wouldn't have the mental traits that are associated with tropical and sidereal Virgo

The great depth, sensitivity, intensity that I feel that I can identify as my Sun in Scorpio can be other factors

Sun conjunct Ixion - '05
as a dwarf planet candidate/plutino, it has astronomical similarities with Pluto, and so it should have similar astronomical features as Pluto like great depth, sensitivity, intensity, and even sexuality. Ixion was a mortal king in Greek mythology who was punished in Tartarus (the part of the Underworld where wicked souls were punished for eternity) who was punished for his lust for Hera, the queen of the deities

Sun oppose/conjunct the true Lunar Perigree/Apogee - '21
same as Sun conjunct true Black Moon Lilith)
Lunar Perigree/Apogee axis has to do with farthest and nearst points of the Moon's orbit, and so it's a strong Lunar influence. This can easily explain being highly emotional, sensitive. I don't agree with true Black Moon Lilith (true lunar apogee) being about sexuality. I believe that it relates to female qualities. However as the shadow side of the moon, I believe that it can lean toward negative lunar traits. I also believe that it can be about feminism and equality.

Sun conjunct Geocentric South Eris Node - '09
Sun oppose Geocentric North Eris Node - '10
Eris is a transneptunian dwarf planet like Pluto. With it being a transneptunian dwaf planet, it has to do with evolutionary intensification.
It would be similar to Pluto. Great depth, sensitivity, intensity. However with it being an object that orbits beyond Pluto, it goes beyond symbolic death and into the realm of resurrection. The geocentric nodes of Eris have to do with the intersection of orbital path of Eris and the Earth's orbital path. Named after the Goddess of Discord, it can be about discord and controversy as well as going against the status quo, striving for equality as well as overall diversity. Its orbital period is Persephone/Proserpina-like. Orbits near Pluto for 1/2 of its orbital period and orbits far away from Pluto for the other 1/2 period. It was Eris' discovery that led to Ceres and Pluto being made equals as dwarf planets. In mythology, Demeter/Ceres and Hades/Pluto shared Persephone/Proserpina for equal amount of time.

Sun conjunct Quaoar - 2'58 (1'47 in Right Ascension)
As a transneptunian dwarf planet dandidate, it has to do with evolutionary intensification. It would be similar to Pluto like great depth, intensity, sensitivity. Named after the Native American Tongva Creation God force that created life through song and dance, it could be about inspiration, creativity.

Sun oppose Sedna - '44 in RA
As a transneptunian dwarf planet candidate, it has to do with evolutionary intensification. It would be similar to Pluto like great depth, intensity, sensitivity. It's named after the Inuit Goddess of the Oceans, it can be similar to Neptune like compassion, victim, martyrdom. It can be caretaker for humanity and environmental awareness. As an object whose average orbit which is the farthest and longest by far, it can be about the bottomless depths, remoteness, and "out of this world". It could have similar traits to Neptune, but even more otherworldly, remote, and feminine.
This could be why I can strongly identify with Piscean traits.

Sun contraparallel Orcus - '01
as a dwarf planet candidate/plutino , it is astronomically similar to Pluto. It would be about great depth, intensity, sensitivity. It is named after the Etruscan God Lord of the Underworld. He was known for punishing mortals for breaking oaths. Orcus could be about matters dealing with oaths/promises.

But yeah. My Sun in Scorpio can be easily explained by those aspects. It would he hard to identify with my tropical sunsign when there are other things that strongly aspect my Sun include especially Sun conjunct Ixion with only 5 minutes of arc.

there are even my midpoints to consider
Sun conjunct Jupiter/Pluto - '46
Sun conjunct Neptune/Pluto in Right Ascension - '33

Methinks the Sun is an essence rather than always the strongest factor in emotional health.

I would die right now if I had to channel stereotypical Cancer (pop out some kids, move into the kitchen, etc), and I consider myself emotionally authentic (and evolved).

However, 'in essence' is another story. Being nurturing and sensitive in essence, alongside other more dominant personality traits.

In my experience, one's Moon is the strongest indicator of how they operate and who they are on the inside.

If you're Sun is early to mid Cancer, you might have your Sun in tropical Cancer in the constellation of Gemini

Gemini constellation would be different from the tropical, sidereal.

Gemini constellation is associated with Castor and Pollux who were heroes, adventurers

Castor and Pollux were half brothers

Castor was the son of King Tyndareus and Queen Leda of Sparta
he was full brother to Clytemnestra, the wife of King Agamemnon of Mycenae

Pollux was the son of the Supreme Deity Zeus and Queen Leda of Sparta.
he was was full brother to Helen of Troy, the wife of King Menelaus of Sparta and lover of Paris, a prince of Troy

Castor was killed
Pollux was in grief and he couldn't be without him. He wanted to die,but he was immortal.

They were said to be placed in the sky as the constellation Gemini.

None of mine stand out to the exclusion of others in general, but depending on the circumstance I might act more like my asc, moon/venus, mars, sun, jupiter, i actually act like my jupiter a lot, and attract others with the same jup placement,,, etc. it depends.

If we're talking about what sign we're guessed as the most, for me it's AQUARIUS.
My aunt swears up and down that I'm Aquarius for the past 15 yrs. She doesn't know about charts, etc. she just reads sun sign dates in the newspapers. In her mind I'm supposed to be crying every 15 minutes like a real Pisces.
If we're reading Sidereal astrology, well then yes I AM an Aquarius Sun, but Tropical is the norm, here. Other Aqua Suns guess me to be like them too and am surprised when I'm not.
I blame it all on Mercury.
I know an Aqua Sun who has Mars/Merc in Pisces and he looks and comes across like a Pisces even tho his Asc is Gemini. I could go on like that with pretty much everyone whose chart I have.
