You know, I HAVE wondered whether my personal preference for or against a sign would influence time of conception - ie would I try for a baby in November, knowing the birth would be July?

Sounds nuts.

What would it mean for your life if you're *slightly* disappointed your kid is a [insert your most irritating sign here]?

Imagine the conversation with your astrologically oblivious partner.

"Honey I'd love to, but can't right now, we don't want a Gemini, do we?"

Babies are born when they're meant to be imo.
And try as you might, there are pregnancies where women deliver weeks in advance due to complications, or later than forecasted, if at all, or heaven forbid having to give birth to a dead baby

Your best bet, if that is your deal, is to have the baby while in your 20s (i guess late teens as well, or when menstruation begins...haven't researched that far back actually) and to be healthy, etc. good family health history, that's your best bet for a healthy full term pregnancy, and eat folate-rich foods. Also make sure your partner isn't in his late 30s or plus, since the older you get the more room for complications in bringing a baby to full term. Healthy babies can be born from damaged eggs or sperm, but their chances of being born healthy (mentally and physically 100%) are diminished as the years go by.

Not much because I realize that a chart is more than just a Sun sign. And we all have a bit of every sign in ourselves anyway.

Ie: Supposedly Virgo traits get on my nerves (I am surrounded by people with Virgo ASCs or Virgo Moons). But then I realized that I have Virgo traits too because of my SN, IC and the duad of my Sun are in Virgo.

And if you have a baby and try to avoid a specific sign, you might wind up with a baby with that sign as the Rising or Moon.

Uh... there is no way to really predict when the baby is going to be born... even with an induction. C-section maybe, but only if it's scheduled in advance.

Most women do not go into labor on their due date... and of course, half your chart is your ascendant and house placements and that again, is like totally unplanned.

For obvious reasons, I believe in letting nature take its course.

With my beliefs in reincarnation concept, I believe that we choose our parents and circumstances and other things to go through experiences and learn our lessons.

When I look at asteroids, I even believe that even more.

I was born a month early myself after a 23 hour labor. If I wasn't induced after a fell asleep in my mom's womb during labor,I would have came out later.

If I was born a month later,I would have Sun in Sagittarius. If was born on the day my mom went into labor, my Moon would be in Aquarius. I chose to be born on the day that the Moon was in Pisces in t-square to Saturn,Jupiter,Neptune and trine Sun in Scorpio with the Moon conjunct the royal star, Alpha Piscis Australis Fomalhaut which happens to be in exact opposite to my Saturn/Neptune midpoint. I incarnated when Moon conjunct Fomalhaut and oppose Saturn/Neptune midpoint because my Moon square Saturn-Neptune opposition.
If I was born the day earlier, I would have been born on the 28th. I ended up being born on the 29th like mom's biological mother. 29 happens to be a master number birthday which results in 11 2nd period cycle which I have from 33 years old to 60 years old. 29 is also known as the Number of Job. People born on the 29th have significant trials and tribulations in their life.

Winona Ryder and I were born on the same day. I am just a few hours older than her.
A famous musician, Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers was killed in a motorcycle accident on the same day that she and I were born.

There was a strong Sun-Earth-Eris Node alignment on that day.
Sun conjunct South Geocentric Eris Node
Sun oppose North Geocentric Eris Node
Earth conjunct/oppose Heliocentric Eris Nodes

That's a strong connected to the collective matters involving like diversity, equality, controversy, discord.

I wouldn't care what sunsign my child would be. I never cared for sunsign compatibility. I always liked moonsign compatibility better. water moonsigns seem to run in my family. My mom has Moon in Scorpio, and both my father and maternal grandfather had Moon in Pisces like myself. It makes me wonder if any childen that I have in the future will have Moon in Pisces too. I wouldn't be surprised that I end up with 2 children and 1 of them has Moon in Pisces and the other has Moon in Scorpio.. I am definitely very drawn to women with Moon in watersigns whether Scorpio,Pisces,or Cancer.

I don't like any type of genetic engineering, eugenics, Gattaca type stuff.

all of us were born with some type of challenges. some have greater challenges
these things could be based on our karma
some people are born with great challenges but great gifts too. Often times, great challenges and the great gifts are connected in some way. Those great challenges and great gifts could factor into people's life purposes.

I believe that everything happens for a reason.

If my mom wasn't forced to give up her firstborn child when she was 15 years old, she would have never ran away to San Francisco where she met my father. Their relationship was short. I grew up not knowing my father. I truly believe that the purpose of their relationship was to bring me into the world.

My mother was also the result of a short relationship too. She grew up without knowing her mother. I believe that the purpose of her parents' relationships was to bring her into the world. My mom has a 29/11 lifepath.

I hope that I find a woman that I will be in a lifelong relationship with and that our children will grow up knowing both their parents.

I'd like to discontinue the pattern.

any ways...I'd let nature take its course
I wouldn't care what placements, aspects are in my children's charts

I was born after an induction. I should have been born a few weeks earlier but I did NOT want to come out yet LOL... Finally the doc induced my mom (he was leaving for his Christmas vacation) so I was finally birthed on 16 Dec. The same ob/gyn that delivered me also delivered my brother. He was not late at all and my mom was only in labor with him for 30 minutes or so (she was in labor with me for over 11 hours).

I feel that I was born when I was supposed to be born, induction or not.

Both my nephews were born through C-section. The first was supposed to be born around 23 Nov but my Sister in law said her Saggie hubby (my bro) was Sag enough for the family, so my lil Lance was born on 19 Nov. He has the mischievousness of a Sag with the glint of "knowing the darker side" of a Scorp. He is my little buddy and always has been.

I was ticked at first because she chose not to have him when he should have been born but then I realized he was right as he should be. The funny thing is, he calls me all the time and started when he was about 3 or 4 years old. I connect with him but not so much with my little Aquarius / Scorp moon nephew.

Still.. I think we are all born when we should be and genetics have nothing to do with it.

Actually... genetics have nothing to do with astro anyway. Our blood and guts, our cellular material is what it is due to our parents (Biochem lady here). However, I do believe that astro imprints on us and acts more as a blue print for our behavior (not taking into consideration free will).

I hear you Pid.

I should have been a Pisces (March 12) but for some reason waited untill April to be born.
(even then the Dr. was ready to induce but before he could my Mother heard a lady in labor and thought she was dying so she jumped off of her bed to help her and I dropped)

NO NOT ON MY HEAD
it was a fast Labor after that.

Even though I have no Pisces at all, I have my chart ruler in the 12th House which Pisces also co-rules
So yeah, I would say you are born at the precise minute you are supposed to be born.

My LO should be born on 23-NOV-2010 (her father birthday)
However due to some complications I was induced on 15-NOV-2010.... but she did not want to come out on that day. She was born on 16-NOV-2010
My goal was 18-NOV-2010 (I did not want to give birth during Venus RX) well... life

I am working on an astrological post to show an example about the soul incarnating at a meaningful time that it chooses regardless of due date, proposed dates by parents, etc.

It will include Sabian Symbols, minor planets (asteroids, centaurs, transneptunian objects), nodes of objects.

It's going to be long, but it will be very detailed and show patterns and themes.

It will focus on

Antivertex/Vertex axis
East Point/West Point axis
Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis
Ascendant/Descendant axis
Moon
Sun

Those are the personal points that I listed in order from fastest to slowest
Both East Point/West Point axis and Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis are auxilliary Ascendant/Descendant axis. Zipporah Dobyns and her daughter,Marith Pottenger used both of them.

I was just like you... I was suppose to be a Pisces but ended being a preemie of 2 1/2 months. So, I became a Saggie... BUT I have Sun conj Neptune. Also, my Venus should of been in Aquarius trine pluto but I ended up getting Venus in Scorpio conj Uranus. There are some more "weird" connections like this but it just becomes too much. It messes with my mind if I think about it too much!
