The ones I know who are in their 20s are usually metrosexual types. They don't seem very 'macho'. They are a little feminine actually, love shopping and very interested in fashion.

Wow, my recent ex was an Aries man in his 20s and he is SOOO macho, the manliest guy I've ever been with, very "Me Tarzan. You Jane." He wasn't a jerk about it. But he was all about winning and climbing the highest mountain and extreme sports and romance-novel bodice-ripping sex and grunting while eating large plates of spicy meat.

I love Arieses. They can be selfish. Even their way of showing how much they love you is sharing themselves with you! But my ex was gallant and heroic and, in a strange way, innocent and pure.

They are PASSIONATE.

Ya, RAS, Aries are quite luscious, almost primitive in their urges at times! I think I'm attracted to them because I'm a 29' Cancer (so close to Leo) and I have a Leo rising. They definitely ignite my fire!

How do an Aries Sun and an Aries Mars differ?

Do you know what his background/culture was?
Was it Western or other?
The ones I mentioned are Western, mostly of an Anglican background with some Italian in there lol

That was me, not Lioness, Betty Boop--so I'll answer....

My ultra-macho Aries ex was anglo (Irish and Central European)...from a rich background, elite schools, very well-travelled. The metrosexual guys I know (mostly older though, in their 30s and 40s, my Aries was 9 years younger than me) are mostly really watery--Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer suns. Metrosexual Scorpios are really frigging weird. But that is a topic for a different thread.

Blugrey--the Sun is the overall personality, and Mars is how the person takes action.

So Aries Mars will take action in an Aries way--single-mindedly ramming into what he wants--and then that tendency will be tempered by other planets, and how they aspect. So a Pisces Sun, Aries Mars would have a generally Piscean personality (mutable, drifty, heart-centered, dreamy, deep, a tendency towards escapism), but take action toward goals in a more Mars way. Like if he was interested in a girl, he'd likely walk up to her and ask her out.

An Aries Sun, Pisces Mars would be overall Aries-ish (wanting to lead, competitive, risk-taking, single-minded, direct), but his way of taking action would be more Pisces (drifting around, letting things flow.) He might not pursue what he wanted in the ultra-direct way of the Aries Mars.

The whole chart overall, including chart ruler and house placements of Sun versus Mars, is important. The ultra-macho Aries ex I'm talking about had Sun-Mars-Mercury in Aries. So his overall personality was Aries, the way he communicated was Aries, and the way he took action was also Aries.

Perfect.

I do have to say - as gorgeous and uncomplicated as they are, they ARE self-oriented, selfish, and in need of a lot of attention. If you can handle it...go for it. But expect a few early gray hairs.

I'm positive that I never want to go out with an Aries/Aries/Mercury in Aries guy again. Total selfish, egotistical, who feels entitled to lie type of guy. Stay away. These people feel no guilt in lying because they feel what they do is so right and cannot see other peoples point of views.

I'm with a guy with a pretty strong Aries moon. He has Libra sun and is pretty immature, and usually irritable because he doesn't know what he wants (Sun-moon opposition in his chart).

Irritable, double-standard (always more slack for him!), self-absorbed. Just like a baby. But very lovable.

This thread is so refreshing. I've had my fill of Aries men. Leos always get this bad rep of selfishness but really it's the Aries deserve the rep. The best part is when they say they aren't. One of my ex's even said "Yeah but I'm humble too" when his mom and I where talking about his huge ego. When he said that I laughed and his mother said, "No you aren't. That is what you need to learn." I can handle Aries women better but the men, Jesus, I've never met bigger babies. At first you're attracted to their enthusiasm and high energy levels until you realize the only one they have all this enthusiasm and energy for is themselves.

I see nothing wrong with the child-like playfulness of a Sagittarius or Leo. But Aries men have this "I am a man. Your are a woman. Cook my food. Tie my shoes because I still haven't learned how" attitude.

I wanted to add that I have found that they all seem to be obsessed with their penis in some way. Either they think it's larger than it actually is or they want to believe that they are the biggest you've ever had.

redshoes...
yes, that is how they are. And mix that with libra and you have yourself an indecisive, impulsive aries.

bluegrey,
i thought that about my aries ex too. unselfish and giving...you don't know until you really really know them.
